  1. Forget the Kylo Ren is awesome garbage. Forget the Kylo Ren is whiny/emo/poorly acted nonsense. The only argument that matters is this: The Force Awakens occurs 3630 years +/- AFTER the events of Star Wars: The Old Republic. For the same reasons that Episode I-III and Episode IV-VI content doesn't belong in SWTOR, Episode VII content doesn't belong in this game either. You want to be Kylo Ren, I'm sure we'll get a Lego Star Wars adaptation of the movie at some point down the line. I suggest you go play that. Stop trying to POLLUTE our game, set in the time of Revan, with stuff from the future that makes no sense here and now!
  2. Ok, fair enough. And an excellent point about Fury / Ultimate Fury. I have to admit that I had forgotten Lucasfilm/Disney reclassifying all the EU stuff and creating a new canon. Thanks for the reminder.
  3. A bit extreme I think. I can say this at least: JJ didn't frak up TFA as badly as he frakked up Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. I will give him that much, but that isn't saying much. It's like saying the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge wasn't as big of an engineering disaster as the Challenger disaster. The biggest letdown of this movie (in my opinion) is that it was a re-run...or maybe more accurately it is like the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion movie they made back in the early 1990s. Alot of nostalgia, not alot of substance.
  4. 1. How do you rate the The Force Awakens out of ten and in relation to previous Star Wars movies? I rate the movie a 7.5 out of 10, and in a ranking of all the movies to date (Including the animated Pilot movie for Star Wars: The Clone Wars) I place it in a tie for 4th with Return of the Jedi. 2. Who is your favourite (new) character so far and why? I really liked Finn. He was enjoyable. At times I liked Rey, but something about her felt off. Can't really put my finger on it. BB was enjoyable too, but it's hard to not enjoy droids in this franchise. 3. Who is your least favourite (new) character so far and why? Hux. He was a poorly done character that they used to try and emulate Tarkin, but without Tarkin's ultra cool, ultra calm and very British demeanor. 4. Out of the returning Original Trilogy cast, who gave the best performance? Tie between Han and Chewie. Both of them slid into their roles very well and it was as if time had not passed them by. 5. What was the most awesome/epic moment for you in the movie? I'll be honest...Not sure I have one. Can't really say that anything was so epic as to stand apart from the rest of the film and truly leave me excited as with other movies in the franchise. Even in my personal worst Star Wars movie (Phantom Menace) I felt the duel between Maul/Kenobi/Jinn was an epic moment. This was a huge knock on this film if you ask me, that none of the film produced a moment even on the level of Phantom Menace. 6. What as the funniest moment for you in the movie? Han being Han. His banter. But especially that moment when he tells Finn that Women ALWAYS find out. 7. Do you think Rey might be a descendant from the Skywalker line, and if so is she Luke or Leia's daughter? I actually got the impression that Rey was not of either line. And her decidedly quick learning of the Force and how easily she adapted gave me the impression that her line was much more...impressive. Scoff if you like, but it wouldn't surprise me if we found out she is a descendant of the Shan/Revan line. Wouldn't surprise me in the least. 8. The death of Han Solo, your thoughts? Should he have died, should it have been done differently? To be honest, I thought it was Chewie that we would lose. I had a feeling through most of the movie, that Chewie would be killed by Ren, and in doing so Han would be so stricken by grief he would leave the galaxy behind, and retire to the unknown. It was actually a surprise for me to see Han killed. 9. How do you rate the lightsaber duel out of ten and in relation to previous lightsaber duels? Lightsaber duel I gave a 9 out of 10. I liked that it had a more realistic combat feel with less choreography dance like the Prequel duels, yet wasn't stick poking like A New Hope. 10. How to you rate the film score out of ten and in relation to scores from the previous movies? And if you have a favourite soundtrack/theme, which was it? This was a weak point in the film for me. Unlike most of the Original Trilogy, where the score was epic and very well timed with the film, I felt like this new score was bland and not well timed at all. Heck, the score for The Clone Wars animated series is much better than the score for this film, and it wasn't even a John Williams production! 11. If you could change one thing with the movie, what would it be? They made a point that Luke Skywalker has set out in search of the original home of the Jedi. By all accounts, isn't that Tython? So why did it appear he was living on Waterworld? If indeed they intended for Luke to be on Tython, then JJ should have worked with Bioware (like Dave Filloni did on Clone Wars) to offer a better tie-in with The Old Republic and the locations we know. Perhaps a flyover of the decaying ruins of the Jedi Temple (much like in SWTOR) before landing and setting off down a wooded trail towards a cave containing Master Skywalker. 12. Finn is featured wielding a lightsaber in the film and in promotional material, but he is never actually depicted using the Force. Do you think he is Force sensitive? No. I think it's merely meant to throw off the viewers to give more weight to the reveal of the movie franchise's first female active Jedi. (Leia isn't really trained or uses the Force in a Jedi capacity so in my book she doesn't count.)
  5. You forgot the part about forced PvP, where the only people capable of doing the event are those who are fully geared PvP Leet Death Squad Gank Masters, and you spend more time dead on the ground or traveling back from the medical outpost than actually getting anything done. 4 years of Gree Event, 3 years of non-participation. My time is worth more than that.
  6. Probably just REALLY bad luck. However, this brings us to a point I tried to make in a post 2 packs ago. Why are GENERIC combat companions being dumped into boxes as ultra ultra ULTRA rare items? Wouldn't it make more sense to build a new section of the Cartel Market, and add a new generic companion up ever few weeks (there is a list floating around the forums about a mile long with requested generic companions) and make it a steady stream income item? I can't imagine right now that the time invested by the developers on this is being covered by the 1 or 2 people per server who are rich enough to actually chase these companions down, and being GENERIC companions, they certainly don't entice people to try for them when the chance of getting it is like 0.00001%. Just another head-scratcher move by the marketing "gurus" at Bioware...
  7. Really, Bioware went there? HK-55 back from the grave, even though Chapter 8 makes it rather clear his demise was permanent. Guess your writers REALLY hate you right now for completely invalidating the one dramatic element of the first 9 chapters. Frankly, I'd much rather see them focus on giving us COMPANION CUSTOMIZATION for the new KOTFE Companions. Oh and fixing bugs. Sheesh. I didn't watch the livestream, but did they even mention the lack of customization on the new companions?
  8. I could get behind a Steel Gray and Black paint job for the Probe Droid, to give it a good Imperial feel.
  9. Call me cynical but: 1. Subscription fees are going to $34.99/month. 2. Monthly Cartel Coin alotments are being retired. 3. Subscribers get to keep their companions, but none of them can be customized anymore. 4. Non-subscribers lose their companions. Now pay to unlock, per companion. Yep, I'm a charmer.
  10. My faith in SWTOR will be restored once Bioware addresses the issue of Companion Customization for the KOTFE Companions. I want them to address the issue. Regardless what they have to say. Explain to us the decision behind the design, after spending all the lead-up to KOTFE hyping the "Companion gear is now just cosmetic" angle. The silence tells me they know people won't agree with what they have to say. But I'd have much more respect for Bioware if they stepped up, made their case, and stood by it, instead of hiding from criticism. Then, my faith will be restored. Until then, anything they do is kind of just damage control, like the Companion nerf / rebuff thing.

  12. Some of the companions had fairly big name voice actors and actresses. If it's a choice for Bioware to spend an insane amount of money or to not bring the character back at all, I'd bet we simply won't see them, and they can justify it under the banner of "you didn't get (See Spoiler Tag) back, so really it's no different." After all, we're assuming here that every single companion is still alive and kicking. But it's been 5 years with a Galaxy at war. If they DID bring every single one back, that sort of undercuts the importance of the war, and devastation caused by the Eternal Empire. I fully expect us to find out that some of our faithful followers were killed of in... - The War - A game of Sabbacc that went sideways - Order 11 (The 3000 year precursor to Order 66) You get my point.
  13. It has already happened. I will leave the proof in the below spoiler tag:
  14. Yeah, they really need to let us change the clothes on our new companions. Because Theron has been wearing that jacket for 5 years, and it smells like a Wookie that hasn't taken a bath in a decade.
  15. Yeah...speaking of this idea, I'd like to expand on it slightly with...Padawan training with Lightsaber Training Probe as a decoration for Strongholds. Put side by side with the pacing Kel-Dor Jedi Master decoration for that "Jedi Master instructing student" look!
  16. It has the Darth Sidious vibe going on, and I matched it up with the Malak's Shadow jaw casing for a truly terrifying look.
  17. I am still incredibly amazed at the gloriously bleak and dark Breaktown district of Old World. You can literally taste the desperation down there, like the lower gang land of Gotham in "Batman Begins". I have to say that regardless of other design decisions that were made that I don't agree with, the environments of KOTFE are wonderous and very rich. A job very well done on these places. Oh, and the Endless Swamp...definitely get a Dagobah vibe from that place.
  18. What the guy above said. However, it is also worth noting that not every class will get all their companions back in terms of canon. Some may decide they don't want to have anything to do with you. Others, may play no role in the future of this game, and from a canon perspective, will be "lost to the mists of history." Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, if in fact that news is bad to you.
  19. Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know if it's an all or nothing deal, or a companion by companion basis? For the most part, I like all my companions, but for a couple who I never hope to see again. I'd hate to have to take the undesirables back in order to get the ones I truly do want.
  20. So I just finished up my Trooper, and found out the big disappointment with and even though I told myself I wouldn't do it on any character, I plan to go retrieve my old companions. Problem is...I don't know how to do it or where to go! So my questions: 1. How do you get your vanilla companions back, where do you go? 2. Can you pick and choose who you wish to retrieve, or does it hand them all back? (For example, On a Sith Warrior, can you pick up everyone else but leave Malavai Quinn behind?) Thanks!
  21. I finally experienced Level Sync last night, as I headed to Ilum to retrieve a certain bone faced Sith from a Mining Camp. I personally feel like the Level Sync isn't bad, but it does certainly change what you can and can't do anymore. I stumbled into a Heroic Area before I remembered Level Sync, and barely made it out alive, whereas if Level Sync didn't exist, I would have easily dispatched that group. Now, I'm not one to complain because it was a little tough. But, what I will complain about is had I drawn another mob by accident (which is very possible in a Heroic Area) or had someone jumped me in PvP (I live on a PvP Server) then I would have been all kinds of dead, something that wouldn't have been as likely to happen before 4.0. That being said, I certainly empathize with those who say they feel something was taken away from them. I definitely feel a bit of that too.
  22. This is the really annoying thing. They spent SOOO much time pre-4.0 hyping up the companion customization changes and the "all gear is cosmetic" angle....then 5 seconds into the new expansion, you lose all customizable companions, therein replaced with non-customizable companions. So...incredibly...irritating. And I've gotten to where I don't want to do the KOTFE story because it's ridiculous and utterly laughable that 30 identical Lana Benikos can exist at the same mission objective on Zakuul.
  23. Since the launch of KOTFE, three things have been bugging me to no end. 1. [bUG] - Cartel Armor Boxes cannot be stored or moved around in Legacy Storage. I would have hoped that this would have been fixed with the "Great Bug Patch" of 4.0.2, but alas I still can't use my Legacy Storage unless I unpack the boxes! 2. [iS IT A BUG, OR A DESIGN DECISION?] - Companion Customization. I know I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this. And yet, nothing irks me more than Bioware pandering to the whiners about "Companions are OP" yet remaining completely silent on the OTHER glaring issue with companions. I play this game to have MY Star Wars adventure. Not the adventure with Lana Beniko #942997853 or Koth #764338271B. Please, if you are only going to leave us with certain companions after Chapter 9, let us make them OUR companions. 3. [CRITICISM] - The Generic Companions. Was it really necessary to tie them to a box? After all, they are GENERIC, so why couldn't they be offered in a variety of flavors as direct-from-CM purchases? The Suggestions forum had a big ol' list of suggested generic companions people would like to see, but if you only issue them one at a time as a super, super, super, super, super SUPER DUPER Rare Box drop, then why waste the time on them in the first place? Ok, done ranting. Thanks for reading!
  24. It was bad enough that we lost the ability to customize companions. Now, not only are we stuck with clones that everyone else is running around with, but those clones will now be 1/2 as effective as they were before? Utterly ridiculous. There can be no other explanation except Bioware WANTS to drive away it's customers for some insane reason. Perhaps they think if they shut down SWTOR, they can start a new MMO based on the upcoming trilogy? Can't fathom any other reason. And the fact that Bioware continues to avoid the customization issue...really is starting to infuriate me.
