  1. Good luck with that. They only cost 25-40k to make, and you'll have lots of competition. You may be able to sell a couple of those in the first few hours if you have a stockpile of greens ready to go. When oranges could first be crit with augment slots they were actually, shockingly, selling for a mil a pop. It only took about a week before the margin on them became pretty slim (depending on the slot). EDIT: This is especially so since it's such a generic commodity item.
  2. Nice condescending attitude there. I'm sure you're just a peach to hang out with.
  3. If you put an MK6 *SLOT* on a low piece of gear, it will not. I'm pretty sure though, that if you put a high level *AUGMENT* in a piece of gear it will. It's the same way that orange gear works with armorings, mods and enhancements.
  4. Only problem is it's like 8 (expensive) mats compared to an Armomech's cheap belt that requires 4 (cheap Zal Alloy and Durasteel). Hugely cheaper for them. =(
  5. I'm that Biochem. I'm stockpiling greens as we speak. =) All you need is one friend who can make the actual kits. In the end, I'm not sure if it's wise. I think the cost, material wise, to do it through biochem is more expensive than through other crew skills (i.e., bracers), but I'm not sure.
  6. Are you talking about a screenshot? Rakata reusables used to be the best ones, but they were nerfed in like.. January.
  7. I have a Biochem on the PTS so I went ahead and tried it. I made some level 45 green implants, reverse engineered them and received "Augmentation Slot Component MK-5." Yaay! I was concerned about this too, since I'm sure I'm going to want all my slots on day one. Also, for the sake of science I reverse engineered one of my companion's old crafted Columi implants. It produced an MK-6 slot component. A lot of people were claiming that pre-existing items wouldn't work, and I claimed I thought that they would. Nice to know I was right. =) I don't have the time or energy to do this with screenshots, so, trust me or not, it's up to you. =) Regardless, thank you for reminding me that it's something I should check. I'm happy with the result.
  8. ^^^ As always, dulfy speaks the truth. =) They already said that new content will assume fully augmented gear is possible, and thus be tuned with that in mind.
  9. Seriously, this is ridiculous. What's the point of having 250+ people on the fleet if you can't infect them with the Rakghoul plague? I've given you the benefit of the doubt again and again Bioware, but this is the last straw. I've had an infected alt saved since the outbreak, and today, I finally find a nice dense spot to blow myself up so I can turn the fleet into a glowing eyed, pus-filled cesspool. But noooooo! I explode and all I have to show for it is some freakin Rakghoul DNA. I'm totally unsubbing now. ... yes, I'm kidding, for those of you people deprived of a sense of humor. =) I totally love the game and I'm glad to have some life back on the fleet! Thanks Bioware! --Floria of Corellian Run
  10. Actually, you can lose that way. You'll be limited by craft time in how quickly you can put out augment kits. For the first few hours you can and will successfully sell them for obscene markups. By the next day, they've dropped to reasonable prices. This isn't like the augment situation. Augments actually had their stats changed, and in addition they didn't want you reverse engineering existing ones. They wanted you to learn the schematics through the slicing missions and then RE them up to purples. In addition, there just weren't that many items in the loot table that they would need to change. Also, that they were not reverse engineerable was known immediately because it was not possible on the public test server. My money is on old greens giving these parts, but regardless of my speculation, it's easy to check. Anyone who has a character on the public test server, RE something old. Surely you have a companion at the very least who has an old green on them that you can just take off and RE.
  11. It's also worth pointing out that they explicitly (in both cases) said that *most* players will need at least a mid level player of the other faction. It's entirely possible that there's a small legacy quest (that you can pay someone to help you with, since you can transfer coinage). So, you might only need to get to the fleet (level 7). In fact, it could just be an item like the Mysterious Egg, that is a bit of a pain to get but completely possible to buy. You know how those orange customizable bracers were hard to come by forever? It's totally feasible that you could just save up the credits and buy whatever you need. Maybe you need two special keys to get into the area where he's locked, and there's one from each faction. As long as it's BoE, which I'm lead to believe is the case due to the language they've used on both occasions, it's fine.
  12. There's also a sound associated with the bubble coming out. I don't know how to describe it, but just listen right before it comes... It goes blue spire --> yellow reticle --> blue firing sound (move now) --> blue spire. You should be able to never get hit by them. =)
  13. I must say Joveth, I do not envy your job. I don't think I would be able to put up with the people on these forums.
  14. Yeah.. Once we weren't hitting the second DD the fight became shockingly easy.
  15. I dunno.. My take on the whole story/hard/nightmare situation has always been the following. -Story mode should be a challenge, but doable by a competent PUG. -Hard mode should be a challenge, but doable by a competent casual guild with some practice. -Nightmare should be a challenge, but everything but the last boss should be doable for a progression guild with a lot of practice. Also, there should be a legitimate increase in difficulty from boss to boss to gate that progression somewhat. The final boss should be that really f'ing hard reward for the super hardcore raiders to race towards (I am not one of those). That places me in the category of 'nightmare mode was not designed for me.'
  16. Heh. We've never really had issue with Z&T. Firebrand and Stormcaller are another issue. Last week on Z&T HM we had a tank go down during a bad transition. Managed to combat rez and still 1-shot the fight. I might point out that we are *not* an elite guild. If I were to self-assess, I would call us an above average to good casual guild. EDIT: This is on 8-man and we pretty much always run 2 ranged and 2 melee dps.
  17. Still Firebrand healer (me) when we do it too. We cleared Toth and Zorn the first week 1.2 hit the live servers, but we were stuck on the tanks until just a week ago. Turned out it really was just a lack of dps (we're a fairly casual guild). We kept hittng a second double destruction. As a scoundrel, I do ~200dps averaged over the fight with just vital shot and white damage in between heals. It doesn't sound like a lot but I worked it out and it's about 10 seconds shaved off the fight, and if dps is struggling, every little bit counts.
  18. I was briefly logged into the PTS a couple hours ago on a level 7 character I created during 1.2 testing. If the character copy had been attempted at that time, is it possible that it would fail? Could there have been some issue with attempting to apply an incoming legacy to an existing character that was logged in? I seem to recall when 1.2 hit the live servers that a character would not be added to your legacy until it had been logged into at least once. I thought I remembered it mentioned somewhere that this had been changed. Since I don't know the actual process I can only speculate possible failure modes, but that seems at least remotely possible.
  19. Ok. *sad face*. Thanks for the info!
  20. Allison, @SWTOR tweeted only 40 minutes ago that transfers are still ongoing: " We're still copying. Check back later tonight if you haven't been copied over yet! -KF" Are they really finished for the day or not?
  21. Yeah... Sorry, but I'm fairly certain that's not right. I filled out that survey last night. I triple checked the spelling of both my character and account name. I most certainly have not been copied either. While I guess I'm glad you're testing your transfers a fair amount before making them live, I'm sad that I'm not on the PTS. =(
  22. Stealth and rez is very likely an exploit that they've just been too busy to fix. I wouldn't count on it staying around that long. It was possible in wow when it was first released, as I remember doing it in Molten Core. It was fixed fairly quickly. It seems particularly obviously so given that they offer a combat rez that provides a debuff that only allows you to use it so often.
  23. Karagga's Helmet [Augmented] = happiness
  24. That's already a huge improvement. I suspect that it would be difficult to account for something like the sage's armor bubble thing too, no? Though I haven't seen how that appears in the combat log. Glad to hear it. =)
