  1. I'm not saying that I like the focus/rage tree but saying that the spec only requires one instant attack to fire off is wrong. You have to set it up: you need combat focus specc'd and available to build up singularities or you need to stasis/choke someone or use force exhaustion (and wait for the tics if they don't get cleansed) and you need to have used charge or zealous leap within the last few seconds. The sweep itself can also be interrupted (it's a bug according to a recent dev statement but they didn't say if/when it will be fixed) or just evaded easily if you keep moving and aren't snared. The area effected is not wide at all - hitting 3+ targets means at least a couple of those targets are probably idiots for bunching up.
  2. It's not just the chain stuns or mezzes (which are exactly the same as 6 second stuns if you aren't being attacked - those of you quibbling over semantics are signaling a very weak argument) which wouldn't be the end of the world for me, but as a melee, I spend most of my combat time being knocked back, rooted, snared and/or stunned. My only motivation for taking apart my combat log is so that I can present a number for those of you that have gotten used to it, but I can comfortably guess that the number of times my character gets hit with (and affected by) a cc in an average wz is near a hundred. We only get one cc-breaker on a 2-min timer and resolve doesn't work on several of those ccs even when it's ticking down. As much as anything, my guess is that CC is why I'm noticing far more range than melee-based characters are showing up in the level 50 games nowadays because ranged based characters get hit with and detrimentally affected by far less of it.
  3. Yeah, level 10-14 with bolstering and good gear isn't really comparable to a fresh 50 with recruit gear. The 10-14s can actually do very well. It always makes me cringe when people start spamming in wz chat that level 11s don't belong - especially if the level 11s are wearing fully modded legacy gear sets...
  4. I've been in queue for a few hours total so far for regular level 47-50 missions (even though my character has almost full wh I figured I would get to know the instances before running heroics). I've had two pops - one I had to decline because I was in a wz with people that were trying but needed my help (we won barely), and the other that put me in Kaon Under Siege which, I think, only one other person in my party had been in. That person called us idiots for following the leader who made 2 wrong turns and then disconnected half-way through. Instead of waiting for replacement members the other two people in my party quit. No one in the group had come close to death at that point; it wasn't a ragequit issue except maybe for the person that didn't like being in a party with people that knew less about an instance than he did. Based on the time-to-q, on Jung Ma, I'm not happy with the Group Finder so far.
  5. Keep the view/sort settings in the Crafting box that were last used "forever". After opening and closing the various crafting boxes several hundred times, It becomes annoying going into the crafting box and selecting "sort by level" and then closing trees that I'm not interested in when it's almost always the same every time I open it. 99.9% of the time I'm completely uninterested in Droid parts as a cyberneticist, for example; I would like to keep that tree closed. And I have never used any of the sorts other than the "sort by level". Please offer larger trades for Rated Warzone commendations. Trading for 10 at a time means A LOT of right-click and "Are you sure" "YES" left-clicks. Please offer trades in the pvp vendors for 100 or more Rated War Zone commendations at a time. This is more of a bug, but companions (Ashara, Kira) seem to keep their light sabres drawn if there stance is set to something other than the default. My companions basically never put their light sabres away even if their standing in a non-combat posture UNLESS I deselect their pvp stances (the ones that make them do extra internal damage). Thanks.
  6. I usually have to look down at my keyboard to make sure I'm not slamming the wrong key because I should be moving and can't see why I'm not. Some roots have visible effects, some do not. The ones that don't are very annoying (scratch that: the ones that are visible are also annoying - as an alternative, if good root effects are too hard to code, you can always remove roots from the game.).
  7. << BW never balances this game around solo Q, and they never will. Why? Because solo queue DOES NOT MATTER. Just like 1v1s don't matter when it comes to balance. >> Solo Q is what most people do. It matters. Also, the argument that 3-4 people can kill a healer fairly fast therefore healers are fine makes 0 sense. 0. None. Ningun. El No Senso. Null. Does not compute. It's like saying 0/0 is a number therefore cows should be able to watch Avatar if they want to.
  8. I just have to laugh at those saying balance pre-1.2 was "perfect". Rose-colored hindsight goggles? The game was not perfect pre-1.2. PvPers (and players) were leaving in droves before 1.2. There were far more complaints on these forums about balance. And how is the game so different now? You can still dominate a game by stacking tanks and cc-support on healers and make them virtually immortal. The good classes then are the good classes now (but sages/sorcs were better then). The main difference between then and now is that is not the "only" or "guaranteed" way to win and your healers need gear now. Games with 500k damage and <5 kills/kbs are not routine anymore and that is very much a good thing. As for the grind, I like that there is always something to work on or improve. Pre-1.2 I had 2 characters in full BM with numerous companions in champ gear. Now I have 2 chars in mostly wh gear but there's always something I can fine tune or tweak with their gear; I'm not doing much with alts or companions or other games because I'm not finished with my main characters; it takes a long to "finish" them but they're both very good right now. RWZs are not here yet. We'll see what the real reqs are for participation and how popular they actually become but if they do pop a lot I suspect they will reduce the grind time for those that want to "finish" their characters faster.
  9. If I felt like trolling a class with 2 or 4 sentences I could do it with all of them. Sents/Maras have no permanent stealth, no non-channelled stuns, no decent ranged attacks or knockbacks/pulls, one tree has roots, no real aoe damage (outside of the focus tree) and the self-heals are weak; they get mediocre healer numbers in wzs because they are healing everyone, not doing any game-changing heals on themselves.
  10. Once you max out your light side points you will start eating into your darkside points so it will eventually look like you never got the darkside points (on your character sheet). Don't worry about the ds points from conversations with Kira - they will never make a difference.
  11. There have been many threads - some long - about fighting him. Google is your friend here. The most important thing, more important than gear or spec or stims, is to keep him interrupted. Use your kick or your push or stasis when you see his cast bar moving. He's one of the first bosses that forces you to use those abilities. He's very tough if you don't and a pushover if you do. Good luck.
  12. I'm not sure how the healers wouldn't win, at least against melee dps. I suppose it depends on the classes but healers have as much cc as the dps classes do and they can do more damage than most dps can heal. The healers can use hit and run/heal tactics - they won't hit hard but the dps won't be able to heal it and they'll get whittled down. I'm looking forward to the relic/adremal changes and seriously doubt they will benefit healers much more than other classes.
  13. << Throw a commando healer in there, and see if he can survive 1vs1, non warhero gear. people never said scoundrel healer was bad(best healer atm), it is sage and commando that got hit with the no longer useful stick. >> Saying commandos and sages are "no longer useful" is exaggerating any point you're trying to make to the point of being irrelevant. Also, as numerous healers liked to say pre-1.2: the game isn't about 1v1.
  14. I was going to say the same thing as the OP, albeit not as well and not in as many words. My first wz on a server I transfered to was vs a premade and inspite of much effort and impressive damage from my sentinel, my team failed to score a single kill (thanks to heals). Even pre 1.2 I've only seen that happen 1 or 2 times (and I have 2 75+ valor characters that never farmed ilum). Healers are definitely very annoying in wzs but they are more manageable; I'm not thinking of leaving the game because of them anymore (as I was pre-1.2). That hasn't happened to me on the new server since the first game and I've played a couple dozen so far... << Bioware doesn't give any incentive to be a healer, especially in pvp. Come on, 1-3 MvP votes which basically means 1-3 extra wz commendations? Thats so usful to getting War Hero.... >> You make plenty of medals now, nothing to complain about there unless you're trying to compete with tanks. But the main advantage to playing a good healer is that you can make a big difference in the game and can influence more wins (hence more commendations and faster war hero gear). A great healer can turn a couple mediocre dps into awesome dps, make another healer unkillable unless focused by 3, etc.. Also, you'll have little trouble finding wz premade groups, ops/hm groups or good guilds that want you. The world is an oyster if you're willing to sacrifice the dream of playing a relatable, hero-like character ;>
  15. Old threads need to be resurrected more often.
  16. All of those servers are origin servers - to see the destination ones you have to go to your Account Settings and click on character transfer.
  17. That is what they said - you normally only have a choice to transfer to one server and that server is in the same region and same type as yours. A target server can have multiple source servers but not the other way around. For this round of merges/transfers at least.
  18. When I chose my "niche" server type it was packed. Jung Ma is still one of the busiest servers out there. Why should I be punished now? Why not give players of "niche" server types a choice of server types to move to?
  19. This was easy! "Which classes do you think needs to be nerfed?" A: Everything that I don't play! "Which classes do you think needs to be buffed?" A: Everything that I do play! Except for my sentinel, he's ok if most of the other classes get nerfed. We should also all vote on whether or not we should pay taxes, who wins the World Series and how many Oscars Joss Whedon gets!

    1.3 pvp for warriors

Yeah, that's exactly what I said. And I guess you never played AoC, WAR, Horizons or just about any other non-Korean MMO outside of EQ1 and Wow? Keep on trollin' ftw...

    1.3 pvp for warriors

There's nothing wrong with Jedi melee being viable in pvp. And if it is then of course many people (maybe even most people) are going to play it. It's STAR WARS, right? Really, if a majority -aren't- playing Jedi Knights (or SWs) it's a safe bet that there's something wrong going on. It's not BW's job to make sure that all classes/acs are populated evenly, just that the game is playable, fun and as fair as possible. What was your problem again?
  22. This is what i got from one of the other threads: Early summer. In a few weeks. If not sooner. The problem is real, not imagined or exaggerated by trolls, and everything is on the table for solving it. Making transfers available will likely be the first thing that we see. Creating more threads to ask the same question over and over doesn't really help solve anything.
  23. The ppl that do bother to buy a recruit set should have someone to stomp.

    Nerf Jedi Sentinel

One guy consistently doing a lot of damage is proof of nothing. Who's to say he couldn't do as much or more with another class? What server is this, btw? On my server almost no one ever gets over 500k damage and it is unusual for a sent/mara to be #1 (it happens maybe 1 in 4 games). Troopers and scoundrels are more consistently damage kings.
