  1. Once you calm down and realize swtor pvp has always been and always will be bad then you'll do just fine. They are NEVER going to get the classes balanced....ever! It has been like this from day one. I remember when Marauder's were pretty op and look at them now. My sorcerer ruled the world back in 2.8 (I think it was 2.8, IDK, I quit around that time) and I could spam my lightning all freaking day and night long, keeping someone slowed in the process. They will never get this balanced because they went about it all wrong. When you depend on pve stats for pvp then you create unbalance. The two should be divided. You should have stats for pve and different stats for pvp. Every single freaking nerf hurts the community as a whole. Instead of screaming nerf how about screaming buff. Just add a bit more hp, survivability, diminishing returns to heals or something other than nerf that op class that pawnz me all the time. I think they should just take every class except tanks and healers out of the game completely. There problem solved and you too can be awesome now. See how much that helped? About as much as screaming for the nerf bat. Just wait a bit, the carousel of nerfage will come back around and the current flavors of the month will suck once again. And then when you decide to do some op's you'll be screaming that those healers can't heal worth a crap and the tanks aren't beefy enough and now you can't even complete anything on hard mode......but at least they're no longer op in pvp which is obviously the MAIN and WHOLE emphasis of swtor end game..........not!
  2. I went ahead and just entered it and it added the 60 days on top of the 10 days I had left. Now gotta go play and get my character up to 60
  3. Hey I have a question? I went ahead and got the Amazon Pack and it comes with 60 days of game time. If I enter the code now will it add that time to what I already have or overwrite it? My subscription payment is due like on the 29th or the 30th so if I add that now will it just add 60 days in addition to the time I have left or just wipe that time out and just give me 60 days? I would think it would just add it to it but I'm not sure. Also, it will use the 60 days game time up first before charging any more payments from my credit card right? Most games work that way but I've never used a prepaid card's code for swtor before so I thought I'd check. Anyway, thanks again for the advice. This is a really good offer. It's a shame I can only use it once lol.
  4. Wow, thanks that is some really great advice. SOR = 20 plus my sub due at end of month is 15, that's already 35 dollars, five more dollars and I can get a crap load more. Thanks so much. I think I'm going to go for Option C Going to grab that first thing in the morning. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I don't think I would have lasted until Oct anyway. I've been really wanting to level my first character I ever played and get him to 60 first. Time to dust off the old Inquisitor.
  5. Hello all. I know that when kotfe comes out that all subscribers will be getting Sor for free but was wondering if there were any reasons I should get it earlier? I know there's going to be a lot of changes coming to swtor and just wonder if I should go ahead and get it now because there may be something that I won't be able to experience or if there will be any part of it that will no longer be available once kotfe comes out? Does anyone know? From what I understand of the new xpansion is that all the old stuff will still be there and that basically kotfe won't start until you hit 60 so it should be safe to wait right? The only hard part is that I have quite a few 50's and I don't know if I can wait that long lol. Part of me just wants to go ahead and pay for it and get my characters up to max level by the time kotfe comes out. Another part of me wonders if I should just use this time and the xp bonus to just level up a bunch of characters to 55 then when it comes out I can do Revan and the new expansion. So what do you'll think? Are there any reasons I should get it now, reasons that may not exist anymore once the new expansion comes out? Should I just go ahead and get it now or wait? I really hate waiting lol. And on an unrelated not do free players get the xpansion also? Or is it only going to be for subscribers? I think I read something about free players not being able to get it or utilize all of it or something like that. Just wondering. I'm a subscriber so it won't effect me but I was wondering if the free players are going to be able to play it also?
  6. Coming back to SWTOR I have to say I'm really enjoying the 12x XP event going on right now. I've been leveling up another assassin even though I already have two of them. So much has changed that I wanted to start over and the 12X XP from the class quests are really helping to take away a lot of the tediousness involved with leveling a class who's story you've already seen. I would love for this to be a normal thing. Maybe you'll could add it to the Legacy System where we could unlock it for a class we've already hit 50 or 60 with. Heck put it in the Cartel Market. I'm sure a lot of people would happily pay to be able to unlock this feature especially since you can turn it off if you don't want to use it. I know we can pretty much change our classes these days but I really don't like doing that. For instance I have a Deception, Darkness and now a hatred assassin and even though I only need one I prefer to just level up all three so that way they can each have the right gear they need without me having to constantly change gear and spec's. Anyway, I'd love this promotional event to become the norm for people who want it and wouldn't mind if you have to max out a character in level before being able to utilize it for that class. Like once you've leveled up an Inquisitor then you could purchase it, unlock it or whatever for that particular class so the next one you wanted to level you could just take advantage of the 12X XP for him/her.
  7. I couldn't agree more. I came here looking for the best abilities to use on my hotbar and finally just realized that's up to me. I watched a Youtube video of a Deception Assassin who was doing really great and he had about 7 abilities total on his hotbar. He seems to have found what works great for him and I'll have to do the same for me. Dumbing it down for other people is NOT the solution. We already no longer have class trees which I don't like although I do like the utilities and the discipline tree. I'm just fond of more choices. That's the great thing about choices, you don't have to choose to use them. And as for the OP so called overall "vision". Methinks you have delusions of grandeur. Your overall vision is not nearly as great and epic as you think it is. Sometimes when one looks too hard they'll fail to see the forest through the trees.
  8. Hmm, I might have to try an AP PT then. Tedious is my middle name. Actually I was looking for an easy class to pvp with, something where I won't have a horribly difficult rotation, just basically something a little more forgiving where I can go in and spam a few buttons just while I'm getting used to the pace of pvp again. I haven't played in years and this combo might be perfect for me to learn everything again. So thank you for posting this, sorry I wasn't much help to you. I was just looking around the forums trying to find an easy class to pvp with when I stumbled upon your post. I haven't touched my Trooper in years. Time to dust him off a bit.
  9. It could just be that your original choice isn't the right spec for you. That happens sometimes and it seems like since switching you're doing better. Sometimes no matter how badly you might want to play a certain class it just doesn't seem to work out right then you choose a different discipline and voila. I've been trying and trying to get my Madness Assassin down but recently switched over to Deception and the difference is night and day. I'm still lower level though but I think I'm going to stick with Deception. It just feels and plays right for me. I used to play a Madness Assassin - Tanking Assassin back in the day and was pretty decent with it but I can't seem to get the hang of it now. It could be that he's still to low and he doesn't have his most useful abilities yet so I'll try again later but I'm really enjoying playing Deception. I don't know if he's going to be any good at high lv pvp but I'm having fun with him and that's the main thing. I'm just going to play whichever classes and disciplines are fun to me and not worry about flavor of the month classes.
  10. I was just about to suggest you try to go to dulfy. That's where I get most of my guides. Glad you found it.
  11. From day one there's been two things missing from SWTOR that I think everyone would love to see added to it and that's Pazaak and Swoop Racing. Every time I go to a cantina I can't help but think about Pazaak. The Cantina's just feel so pointless and having something to actually do at one would really go a long way to help players immersion. Also having chairs that you can interact with and sit down in would be nice touch but that's not 100 percent necessary. Pazaak and Swoop Racing are necessary though. Please add them to the game. I don't care if you'll make it a premium service or charge 20 dollars for both of them. I'll gladly pay if you'll give us the ability to play Pazaak with each other. You'll can add collectible cards and put them in the Cartel Market and there could also be speeder upgrades for Swoop Racing. Make a leaderboard for both of them and have timed tournaments for the racing or even better make a track where more than one person can race at the same time sort of like an obstacle course. I really don't care how you'll do it as long as you'll do it. Please please please give us some Pazaak. I think it would help draw in a lot of older players who no longer play as well as help to draw in new players. What does everyone think? Would you like to play Pazzak or do some Swoop Racing in Swtor?
  12. I agree the post should just go on but I wouldn't go so far as to ignore her unless things got ugly. Try talking with her. Most of the time these things are simple misunderstandings and I think she had a valid post on referrals. Sounds like she was just trying to warn you or find out more info on whether it's okay to talk about them or not. She's probably a very helpful person also. Try to un-ignore her at some point and maybe drop her a line in game and work it out. I've made a lot of good friends that way I'm also a returning player. I quit playing right after it went F2P and I quit for a lot of reasons. Mainly there just wasn't much to do end game wise and there were a lot of things that really annoyed me about the game. With the new expansion coming out I thought I'd come back and see what all is changed and wow has a lot changed. Abilities are now free and you don't have to constantly fly back to the fleets like you used to. Upgrading/modding gear is now so much easier and I've noticed all kinds of little things that just make the game so much smoother than it used to be. Now if they'd just get rid of that loading screen when I alt-tab out I'd be happy. I can't speak for the end game but it looks like they've added a whole lot of new stuff to do. Strongholds are a definite plus that I'm looking forward to. Also it'll be nice to have some new cinematic storylines. That's the games strongest point and something they really need to add more of. So far I'm having a good time. It's all so familiar yet everything is so different at the same time. It's almost like playing a new game. I don't really like their F2P model very much though but at least people have a choice. Personally I just think it's way too punishing on free players but who knows, maybe some of them get off cheaper by buying some of the stuff they need here and there instead of subbing? It won't really effect me regardless since I plan on getting a sub once my 7 days are over. Anyway, thanks for all the links. I'm checking some of them out.
  13. This is totally unrelated but the name Taugrim rings a bell. I think he/she was playing back when it first came out and was putting out guides even back then. I need to look through all my old guides if I still have them bookmarked, especially my inquisitor guides. I'd bet anything that I've followed at least on of his guides if not more unless this is a different Taugrim. That name is just so familiar for some reason. Anyway sorry for getting off topic.
  14. I would just jump right in solo. Try playing each of the warzone's without your teammates for a few days. Do Pug's for a while because then chances are you won't be the only low geared person. Plus you won't know most the people so who cares if you suck. We all have to start somewhere and the best way to learn is by playing. I don't know about the matchmaking system these days. Back when I played (you know, when dinosaurs still roamed the earth) the matchmaking system was abysmal. It had a nasty habit of putting the lowest geared randoms against really high geared pre-mades which sucked. I'd go for whole days without ever winning a match when it did that. Having low gear means you'll probably be matched with a random group and get stomped by a premade. Unless they've changed it by now. Also I don't know if it's still the case but they used to have a starter set of pvp gear that you could buy. it was a blue set and I don't remember the name of them so check the pvp vendors. If so get you a starter set. The expertise they have is better than nothing. And as a healer just sit back and heal your teammates. You'll probably die a lot but who cares. Have fun, that's the main thing. If people are jerks to you about it that's what ignore is for. Just run a few to at least get the hang of it. Hutball was my least favorite and not really a good warzone for a beginner in my opinion. There was rarely any teamwork. Just one team steamrolling another with a gazillion inquisitors slowing everyone lol. I hated Hutball but things could be different now. Good luck and have fun.
  15. Hmm, maybe I'm getting my crew skills confused with a different mmo or something. I've tried Googling it and can't seem to find any mention of them not rewarding high end items. I could have swore there were a couple that everyone used to avoid because of this but it's been a while so maybe I am mistaken. Regardless I really appreciate all the info on how the crew skills have changed since I was playing. I don't think we could reverse engineer anything while I was still playing. It's been that long lol. Thanks for the information.
  16. I'm just now returning to swtor and it's been a long time. I quit right after it went F2P so a lot has changed since then. Back when I was playing there were a few crew skills, maybe 3 or 4 that were sort of bugged and basically they did not reward any high end items like purples or blues for some reason. Are they fixed by now? If not which one's don't reward properly so I can avoid them?
  17. Don't forget uphill.....both ways.
  18. Wow, you are so awesome. I hope I'll still be loving mmo's when I'm in my 60's. I'm 40 btw I started playing the original Everquest back when Planes of Power had just come out and played it for years before moving to WoW. I've played nearly every single mmo in existence at one time or another. Just now returning to Swtor to see what all has changed but with the new Expansion coming out soon which will have a return of cinematic storylines I felt now might be a good time. There were a lot of things I loved and hated about swtor. The story lines are a definite love so more of them is a big draw for me coming back. End game was a big hate. I'm hoping it's improved. Lots has changed so I'm pretty excited.
  19. WARNING - Very Long Post I still have my sub but haven't played in over a week now. I really like the game alot but there's just a few things that truly keep me from wanting to commit to it full time. Here's my 5 reasons why I "may not" stick around. I haven't decided yet. 1. Linear leveling - !st of all let me say I love the combat and I love the storylines but I do not enjoy having to redo the same worlds over and over again for each alt with only a handful of unique and new storylines to look forward to each time. I feel less like a person in the Star Wars universe and more like I'm watching reruns. I love playing alts and trying new things. You only get 2 different planets to start out on depending on your class and from there it's point a to b to c to d. It gets kinda old after the third or fourth time. When I started I had every intention of seeing each classes storyline but just can't stand doing those same planets over and over again. Not to mention the same datacron hunt each time. There's only so many balloon rides I can take. 2. Lack of fun in pvp. I am not a hadcore pvp'er but I do enjoy it. I don't mind that it usually takes me a bit longer to get the gear and such since I don't like doing Warzones nonstop each day. Four or five is good for me but what I truly hate is when it feels like you're stuck against the same premade over and over each day, every day, all day long. The pvp reminds of Warhammer because I will literally lose 10 matches on Empire side then jump over to Republic and lose 10 more. If neither side is winning then who's winning? Premades are. I know I could join a guild and run a premade myself but I have alot of rl responsibilities and would just like to queu solo and have some fun. A 50/50 win loss ratio would be nice but when it takes all day long to get in those 3 wins it's just not fun. I don't know what the matchmaking system is but it seems to put me on the worse team every single time. Nobody tries, nobody passes and it's just horribly lame. 3. Lack of anything else to do whatsoever. Yes I know there's lore but I was so hoping that since these guys ran Warhammer they'd give us something closer to Warhammers tome of knowledge or whatever it's called. I like to work on thing and achieve things and get new titles, mounts, pets, vainity item or just bragging rights. It's just such a dumbed down version that it seems almost nonexistant. Would it have been so hard to make a decent lore system which counts most damage taken, done, how many times you've died by fire, falling, bosses defeated, etc. Then they went and took half the titles out of the game. Why? Since win did less = better? 4. Lack of anything remotely social. Apart from speaking to other players there are no social interactions whatsoever. The only two chairs in the game you can sit on are in your ship. You're ship can't be customized and feels more like a gimmick instead of your home away from home. When did mmo's decide that players hated player housing? It used to be such a huge thing and then all of a sudden developers got lazy and just decided we don't want or like that. I used to spend hours in Horizons or even Anarchy Online setting up my little apartment and buying pictures, furniture etc. Why have all the saloons when you can't even sit down in them. It just really takes away from the game and makes everything feel more like a gimmick than a live universe. Very few social items and nothing other than two seats and a jukebox. 5. Developers lack of meeting their audiences needs. Not merging the 120+ servers when most of them have less than a hundred people is either sheer laziness or just sheer ego. I love Bioware and always have but just because you're a great company does NOT mean you can't fail. I really feel that their ego went to their heads on this one and they just assumed the brand name along with the Bioware name would = easy success. Why else would they give no thought into server mergers? They made the legacy system knowing that it would make mergers almost impossible for them. They're worried about character names. Well, nobody's going to have a name if they're not in the game. I hate to say it but every since Dragon Age II things have changed. It took BW years to make Dragon age and then a year later they put out a sequel with copy and pasted dungeons. BW would never have done such a thing in the old days. Maybe all the great people have already left or maybe now that EA owns them they no longer have the luxury of truly caring anymore. Either way it makes me sad and I hope this 400 million disaster doesn't destroy them. Analysts said it was way too much money and would never be vialbe but they went ahead and honestly for that much money we should be having so much more fun. I hope they can turn it around but if they don't start acting, get rid of that ego and start doing what they once used to do best then I feel that SWTOR will die and go down in history as the single largest mmo disaster.
  20. Bioware I love this game but honestly all the cheating is making it so I don't want to play Warzones anymore at all. I just left a match because somehow the opposing team managed to put a bomb on the door even though nobody was anywhere near the door, I know this because I was guarding it and was staring right at it and within two seconds of getting the bomb alert the door explodes. I had just run up to it and clicked it right after it appeared and didnt' even have time to disarm it. Right before this happened a Pub went around the corner to get the healing item and disappeared. Other guy on my team chased him and I stayed to guard door. There was NOBODY there unless they can now put insta bombs from stealth. This along with the horrible speed hacks that are running rampant lately are truly ruining warzones to me. I don't mind losing but will drop out of a game in a second if "either" side is using exploits. I've seen empire and republic toons running so fast that nobody can catch them even with force speed on. It's just plain sick to watch a non force user fly across the screen so fast that nobody can get close to them. Nodes are being capped withing seconds of landing from the speeder and even with force speed up I'm not even halfway to the middle objective. Please find a way to figure this out and fix it.
  21. Hello. I'm still a long way to fifty but I like to set up my bars early so I can get the feel for things later. I know now I'll be using alot of abilities that I probably won't at 50 so I'm wondering are there any abilities that you just will Never use at 50 and are there some that are seldomly used but more situational? I'm looking at Blade Storm, Master Strike and Riposte and just don't see if I'll be needing those at 50 for pvp or not? I imagine Riposte might be a bit useful but I'm not really sure. I've looked up alot of priority lists and don't see any of these ever mentioned at all. So are these pretty much useless in pvp later on?
  22. I might but sad to say even the second highest server - The Harbinger which is behind the Fatman is also losing players. A month ago when I started fleet had over 200 people at most times and most planets had 100+ easily. Now fleet has 50-100 avg sometimes getting close to 200 on weekends with most planets well below 100. It's still healthy but if one of the most populated servers starts to feel a little less than full then imagine how it feels to run on a dead server of which there are well over 120 of them out there.
  23. Have noticed alot of weird things msyelf the last two days. On the server I play on I've literally quit playing Empire. For the scond highest pop server it sure feels like I'm fighting the same premade over and over. Actually the reason I came looking here is because just now I finished a match and fought a Trooper and this guy was super and I mean Super Fast. I couldn't even catch him using force speed but that's not what really bugged me. What bothered me is the whole fight just between him and myself I was behind him and yet he somehow managed to keep shooting me without ever stopping or turning around to do it, not even a jump shoot or anything lol. . Do Troopers get some instant abilites that they can hit you with while their back is to you? Im not the greatest pvper but my Tankassin is usually pretty hard to put down and yet this guy who I couldn't catch killed me while staying at 100% hp by shooting me while running away from me. It was just toally weird. Could be that I don't understand the Trooper class and that i was just outplayed and outgeared but ever class I've played has never been able to shoot anyone who's behind me.
  24. Darkness just plain rocks. I leveled all the way with it to my current lv. of 43 and once you hit 40 it's just sick. Even my Sorc couldn't solo this wel. With a healer crew member I just laugh at elites now. No other class I've tried can waltz in and take on two elites and two strongs and still be at 90%+ HP when it's over.
  25. I'm still waiting to play the much hyped and eagerly anticpated Sarlacc Enforcer class : )
