  1. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't. It's seemingly random. I get the Error 9000 disconnect every few hours. Half the time I'm able to log right back in, half the time I have to sit in a 10-20 min queue.
  2. End-Game gear progression paths are very convoluted and not obvious enough. I had to look up how to acquire PvP gear. Apparently the only realistic way to obtain it currently is an RNG loot bag... yea, that's a great idea. Also, getting around to flashpoints and planets is very time consuming and overly complicated. I could do without the whole: Enter Ship Run to Nav Computer Fly to Planet Exit Ship Run to and enter hangar elevator Run to planet shuttle Land on planet It's just unnecessary and annoying in my opinion. I understand there shouldn't be instant travel across the galaxy, but it's just... I don't know. Maybe I'm just a whiner.
  3. Not only viable, fairly dominant in the right hands. You're no Operative, but the burst Gunnery is capable of is pretty ridiculous.
  4. Gunnery because it's unbeatable 1v1 and has probably the best burst damage behind Operative/Scoundrel. Assault Specialist is all DoTs and grenades and ewwww...
  5. I knew something was up... yesterday I nabbed 9 chests there. Today I've checked 4 times, not a single chest to be found. It was a bit over the top before, but I think they may have nerfed their respawn a little bit too much. Seems to be a pattern forming with nerfs in this game... a pattern that's disturbingly similar to another game and developer notorious for over-nerfing and over-buffing...
  6. 1953 called, they want their moral values back. Flirting is a "mature theme" now?
  7. 98% of my deaths in Warzones are due to being stunlocked. I don't know the exact specifics of the Resolve system yet, but I do know that EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that I die in a warzone, it's due to being stunned 2-3 times in a row. Either CC immunity needs to kick in faster or the CC break ability needs to have it's cooldown reduced slightly. Or better yet, using the CC break ability should make you immune to stuns and knockbacks for 5ish seconds.
  8. I've been 50 on my Commando for several days now, and I can confirm that fighting anyone lower than L40 is a total joke. I can win 1v3 fights against players L10-30 without too much difficulty. 1v1 against ANYONE under 50 is basically a free kill. Even if brackets were only 10-30 and 31-50, it would be far more fair than it is right now. I can join a WZ, browse the levels of my teammates, and determine before the game even starts whether or not we're going to win. Do I have 3+ other L40-50 players on my team? We win! I have been top damage in every. single. warzone. I have done over the last week. Every single one of them.
  9. 36.5k is equivalent to 3 Ilum dailies at L50. It's not much at all. Respeccing needs a cost associated with it. Whether or not it's currently too high is up for debate, but I don't think it is. Besides, dual spec is likely in the works for the near future. Be patient.
  10. It is not wise to try to be a "jack of all trades" in an MMO. Essentially you're just gimping yourself for both roles. If you want to be DPS, go full Gunnery. If you want to heal, go full Combat Medic. There really isn't much middle ground.
  11. Yes. The animations are the problem. In WoW, animations are clipped so that there is no delay whatsoever in ability usage. Gameplay comes first, cosmetic animations come second. In SWTOR, if you're in the middle of an animation, you're essentially frozen. Not only does this cause the game to feel less responsive, but it also creates class imbalance between factions, since some animations of mirrored abilities take longer (Project vs Inquisitor equivalent, Mortar Volley vs Death from Above, etc.). I don't think this is an issue that could kill the game, but I do believe it is VERY important if you want this game to come anywhere even remotely close to WoW's success.
  12. Charged Barrier is far better than most people realize. In PvE, it's about equal to a constant 10% damage reduction, which is HUGE. In PvP, it's often 6-10% damage reduction depending on how idiotic the people you're playing against are. If you're planning to play against pugs a lot, it's a no-brainer talent. Heavy Trooper is extremely good too. I have both in my build. You can drop Quick Thinking in favor of Weapon Calibrations if you don't plan to do any spot healing in PvP or are only interested in PvE. Weapon Calibrations is a pretty weak DPS talent though, only really affecting Full Auto and your heals.
  13. It's your hardest hitting ability and there's no reason not to take it. Tech ability so it can't be dodged. Hits harder than any shot in our arsenal. Instant Can be cast while moving. It's one of the best abilities we have.
  14. You can often chain 2 abilities together while maintaining 4th regen tier if you time it right. That simply isn't possible if you're constantly hovering at the lower edge of 3rd tier. Chaining 2 abilities together would knock you down to 2nd or even 1st tier, which cripples you for 15+ seconds. I understand what you're saying, no matter what you're going to have to use Hammer Shot often, but in the long run you will be able to use more abilities if you remain at 4th regen tier. It's just logic. 0.6 APS > 0.36 APS
  15. Mortar Volley on cooldown on groups of 3+ non-strong enemies. Sticky Grenade the center normal enemy whenever possible, or preferably on a melee normal enemy to keep him in the group. Single target is a lot of Grav Round spam until you get the 33% Full Auto talent and Charged Barrel, both of which you get in the late 30s/early 40s. After that, prioritize Full Auto and MAKE SURE you don't go below 7 ammo if at all possible. There is a very harsh penalty for blowing your ammo bar too quickly. Just prioritize Full Auto (w/ proc) > Demo Round > High Impact Bolt (5 stacks) > Grav Round Grav Round takes priority until you get 5 debuff stacks obviously.
  16. In the hands of idiots and immature children, they do. In the hands of an adult with a brain, being able to compare your ability usage, damage output/intake, and crit rates are very beneficial to improving your own play.
  17. I'm sorry, but this is blatantly wrong. You want to keep your regen at the highest possible level. It may seem like it's wrong because you don't appear to be doing as much burst, but over the long run you will have a lot more ammo and use a lot more abilities this way. The higher your regen stays, the more abilities you can use without dropping down a regen tier. Remember kids, you want to stay in the highest regen tier as much as possible. Every moment you're in a lower regen tier is a moment you're losing out on potential ammo.
  18. Gunnery is one of the most bursty specs in the entire game. If you play against randoms and aren't an absolute idiot, you will dominate face.
  19. Gunnery is one of the highest Ranged DPS specs in the game. In PvP, you have amazing burst, decent sustained damage, but VERY low mobility. It's great against pugs who don't know to focus you. Once you become focused though, your escape cooldowns have long-ish cooldowns and don't have a huge effect overall. Basically, if you can stand and shoot without being harassed, you will do well. If you can't you won't.
  20. The opposite is true. If you face a real team that knows how to assist train and call targets, you will be focused almost immediately, thus crippling you. If you're playing against pugs, most of the time they let you sit near a pillar and destroy them from afar. That's exactly what you want as a Commando: a pillar to hug so you can LOS any player dumb enough to challenge you 1v1 from range. Seriously, I'm not sure it's even possible to beat a Commando at range 1v1.
  21. I think ammo regen at level 3 needs to be buffed. It's fine at level 4, and you SHOULD be punished for going to level 2 or 1, but at level 3 the dropoff is HUGE. It goes from .6 APS (Ammo Per Second) to .36 APS, a 40% drop. I feel it'd be much less punitive and the class would feel much smoother if it dropped to .4 or .45 APS at level 3. Oh, and Concussion Charge needs to have it's ammo cost removed. Having your PvP escape button ammo starve you is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
  22. If you're a gambler (like me) you'll use this time to buy anything you view as underpriced and hoard it for resale at a later date. Purple items and crafting materials WILL go up in price eventually. When? I have no idea. But I know they won't remain this cheap once more people reach the level cap and realize how easy it is to make credits just for questing or whatever. Also, slicing will slightly increase the rate of inflation. Don't underestimate it's power.
  23. Nar Shaddaa was BY FAR my favorite zone until I hit Voss tonight. Actually, the only zones I DO like are Corsucant, Nar Shaddaa, Hoth, and Voss. Every other zone has been pointless travel time and fighting through 500 packs of mobs to get from point A to point B. The zones I listed still have those things, but they have it in less quantity. Plus, Hoth and Nar Shaddaa are gorgeous.
  24. I was unaware that there was a death penalty, seeing as it's damn near impossible to die while solo unless you're just not a good player. Seriously, the only deaths I've had on my way to 47 were me being dumb and trying to speeder through multiple packs of mobs. There wasn't even a penalty for it really, I just spawned exactly where I died and stealthed away. If there was any less penalty for dying they may as well just make players invincible.
  25. I had 70k at level 25 while constantly sending 2 companions on diplomacy missions and purchasing the 20k bag upgrade, WITHOUT slicing no less. If you don't spend all your credits on stupid crap, you will have PLENTY at L25 for speeder.
