  1. I target Sentinel/Marauders last. They have great cooldowns and at least in my eyes, they're the easiest to CC/least threatening of all ACs minus Juggernaut/Guardian. For my Commando, the target priority is something like: Op/Sorc Healers > Op/Sorc DPS > Merc Healer > Merc DPS > Lolmelee Melee are just very easy to knockback spam into uselessness.
  2. Granted I'm only L17 on my Sentinel alt, but so far the Sentinel does FAR more damage than my Commando, Scoundrel, or Shadow did at this level. They aren't much squishier either with Rebuke up half the time. Seriously though, Sentinel damage is crazy good so far. Using a Centering-focused build to maximize Zen uptime for Cleavey Slash spam.
  3. The game isn't going to die without arena. Less than 5% of the WoW population participates in arena, especially now that there is an alternative in Rated BGs. The game needs competitive PvP (Rated WZs), but it does NOT need arenas. All they lead to are balance problems and people moaning on the forums about stuff that doesn't matter.
  4. This is how MMOs work. You are rewarded both for time played and for skill. This is the same in every MMO ever. Skill caps in MMOs are very low, so gear progression adds more replayability.
  5. I think the rank requirement for Battlemaster Bags should just be lowered to 40 or maybe 50. Unless you get extremely unlucky with Champ Bags, you'll basically have everything by rank 30-35. Then it's just a huge pointless grind to rank 60 where you can once again get upgrades. It's just not well designed.
  6. Valor means a lot unless you just have terrible luck. I'm valor rank 29 and I have literally nothing left to get from Champion bags except for companion gear (which is a sidegrade, really). My options are basically to continue giving gear to my companions (which doesn't really matter) or to save up Battlemaster bags for THIRTY valor ranks... that's more than a month of 3-5 wins a day, assuming I just keep doing the daily. As for performance issues, I don't have any in Ilum. The only places that cause issues for me are the Fleets, for obvious reasons. I agree that Ilum is very poorly designed as a PvP area. There's no incentive to actually PvP. The valor rewards are tiny in comparison to what you get from WZs. It's also detrimental to completing the daily quest to kill any players. The more players that are there, the faster they cap and the faster you can do the daily.
  7. This idea is atrocious. Expertise is not a major issue. It's certainly not an ideal design, but it's far from the worst (lol resilience).
  8. People that complain about Merc/Commando spam are hilarious. Have you played the class? What else are we supposed to do exactly? ALL of our abilities and procs either benefit from or require Grav/Tracer spam. It's not like we want to spam 1 button all day, it's just the best way to do damage. Go take a look at the Gunnery/Arsenal talent trees. Half the talents (at least) mention Grav/Tracer.
  9. I don't use any AOE at all and I still top every single warzone in damage dealt. Our single target sustained and our burst are both among the best in the game. The catch is that you become worthless against people who know how to LOS and interrupt.
  10. And then the Commando/Trooper DPS rotation is screwed entirely. Tracer/Grav are fine. If you're trying to fight a Commando/Merc straight up without using LOS or interrupts, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. That's what this class does: stands there and shoots you in the face. Interrupt them, use LOS, you win.
  11. Cross realm WZs destroys server rivalries, but it doesn't destroy the community as a whole. It would be quite a shame though. I've grown fond of stomping all over the same Imp premade every night. It'd be a real shame if I didn't get to continue playing against them. Besides, you get to know the players on your server the way it is now. I'd like to think I've gotten a reputation on my server since I'm top damage/top kills in every single WZ I play.
  12. This won't be an issue when there are L50 brackets. Also, no offense, but if you're queueing for PvP below L50 these days, you really shouldn't be. You're basically dead weight that the real players on your team have to drag across the finish line.
  13. Energy regens faster at higher levels. 60% is the lower edge of the highest regen rate, I believe. So yes, use your basic attack to maintain your energy levels.
  14. I had full PvP gear by valor rank 27. Roughly 3 WZ wins per day for ~3 weeks. It really is that easy. Make sure you do the ilum PvP daily/weekly as well. It's essentially 10 free Champion bags every week.
  15. Running the ball in Huttball: Sorc stun (trinketed this) Force Leap root Sorc DoT root Force Leap root Sorc DoT root Operative stun Dead. I mean... really? REALLY? I spent literally 15 seconds unable to move, and a good portion of that time I was either stunned or interrupted. But it's ok guys, I had a full resolve bar... when I respawned back in my base. - Using your CC break ability should give you CC immunity for 5 seconds. - Roots should be added to the Resolve system, obviously. - INTERRUPTS should be added to the Resolve system, although they should not fill up the bar nearly as much as a Stun or KB. Those 3 changes alone would make PvP in this game SO much less frustrating.
  16. Funny. I have a complete 100% monopoly on all things Biochem on my server. It's not like I'm on a low-pop RP server or something either, it's one of the higher-pop servers, and I"m on the more populated side (Republic). Either the people on my server are lazy (likely) or just very, very dumb (also likely).
  17. The whole Commendation system should just be combined to just Tionese Crystals, and the costs reworked accordingly. It makes no sense to have 2 currencies used for one thing. It's the same thing as the PvP currency with Mercenary Commendations. They aren't used for anything. They might as well just increase the cap to 4000 WZ Commendations and remove Merc Comms entirely.
  18. This is actually the biggest imbalance with Gunnery. Not the crazy burst, or the huge damage from a spammable efficient ability, but the fact that with a healer, we can tank anything. 30% damage reduction from armor + 10% passive damage reduction from Charged Barrier makes us VERY difficult to kill. You can still make us useless via smart LOS and interrupts, but yea, Gunnery survivability is almost as high as the tank specs.
  19. 2004 called, wants it's class design back.
  20. I find it FAR more likely that they'll fix other professions. What sounds best to you: 1.) Biochem is the only useful profession in the game (currently). 2.) There is no useful profession in the game (if they nerf Biochem). 3.) Every profession is viable and useful (if they fix other professions). I know which one sounds good to me. It may be easier to just nerf Biochem, but for the benefit of the game, the other professions need to be brought in line.
  21. The problem is that Biochem is the only worthwhile profession. No other profession makes ANYTHING worth buying from other players. When everyone is Biochem, then even the good stuff you can buy off Chemists (Stims/Adrenals) becomes worthless, since everyone has the Rakata reusable versions. We need more world drop items (materials, consumables, vanity items, etc) and more worthwhile craftable items at max skill for Armormech, Armstech, Synthweaving, and Cybertech. Things that are worth buying. Preferably things that are not reusable or things that need to be purchased multiple times, the way flasks, gems, enchants etc are in WoW. I hate to make the comparison to WoW, but I feel it's necessary since the WoW economy is so well designed. Even though inflation has caused a lot of devaluation of currency, it still makes a HUGE difference in the overall game. No matter how geared or experienced you are in WoW, there is always more stuff you can buy from other players. That's how an economy should be.
  22. Sorcerer's are the easiest class for a Commando to kill. All of our damage is mitigated by armor, which you have very little of. My damage is balanced against Marauder/Operative/Sniper, underpowered against Jugg/Merc/Powertech, and VERY overpowered against Sorcerer/Assassin. That's just the nature of damage mitigation. Most of your damage as a Sorcerer bypasses armor, so it's balanced against every class pretty much. Not so with Commando and Melee. Also: If you interrupt or LOS a Commando, they are utterly useless. If you try to stand and cast at them like a *******, you will get curbstomped. That's how Sorcerers work. They aren't a brute force class.
  23. *Get Operative to half health* *Operative vanishes* *Immediately pop Stealth Scan, mock silly Operative attempting to run away* *Murder Operative and teabag him* I see no problems here. If someone vanishes, then you should have the reflexes to pop a scan/aoe where he was and pick him out of stealth.
  24. What is the point, exactly? You hate losing to people who are better organized and communicate better than you do. Know what the solution to that is? Get some friends and a ventrilo server. Can't do that? Then I have no sympathy for you, sorry.
