  1. I agree. It would be nice if there were a few class specific idle stances for example. You could pick one to have toggled. Maybe even class specific emotes for a bit of fun. Jedis with a quick saber twirl/flourish, etc.
  2. Um, he wasn't being hostile *at all*. Also, I do not think it's a weird bug. However, I appreciate that running around with 17k hitpoints makes this a bigger issue than others with a smaller hp pool.
  3. Totally agree. Companion wants to talk to me privately onboard my ship that's docked in the hangar? Sure no problem, we just need to take off and fly into orbit before I can speak with him .. why?!
  4. Yes. But people should understand that the state of the game is in flux. It's an MMO that will be improved and tweaked over time.
  5. I can appreciate the argument. But personally, I prefer to have it as a toggle. Always only ever being able to run at that fast speed would be irritating after a while. Imagine trying to do delicate positioning for jumping when trying to get to a datacron. That's just one example off the top of my head. It's *choice*. An important aspect in any gaming interaction. To address the issue. If it's a problem of hotbar space, then incorporate the Sprint icon into the UI itself as a little switch that becomes usable at lvl 14. So you remove the need to have it on the hotbar, because you have a little run/walk symbol on the UI itself for every character (as everyone has access to this). Finally, have it remember the previous state after you die. If you had it off, it stays off. If you had it on, then keep it on, when you revive. This should fix most complaints I imagine, and we still get the option of switching it on or off.
  6. To answer the OP: Honestly? IMHO, I think it's possibly the 4 years you spent playing WoW that destroyed your capacity to accept any other MMO style. It's like people are so used to walk-in-all-you-can-eat-buffet, that they no longer appreciate going in and sitting down at a nice restaurant.
  7. Nice plan, but not sure how conceivable this is. ;o I agree though in principle. When I discovered that lightsaber types were restricted to what class you picked, it was a bit of facescruncher. Sort of similar to the thing to how no Imperial classes make use of assault cannon, and no Republic classes make use of sniper rifles (companions notwithstanding).
  8. Person A >> (Huttese) blah blah Person B >> (Galactic Basic) Wth did you just say? Person C >> (Rodian) Oota goota etc. Allow us to be able to pick a language mode to input into /say (or anything else), that would then garble the text to other people if you're not able to speak the language. This was a little feature in an old Star Wars MUSH (also exists in another MMO...) I used to play, and I had an extraordinary amount of fun with it. It's totally a pointless little thing and maybe a lot of work, but it can be pretty fun and would help with immersion and definitely RPing. The decision on what languages someone would know (the game seems to make a point that we're all multi-linguists) is the tricky part, and how you would establish that. You could maybe tie it to an increasing amount based on Social rank. Though that might be unfair, not sure.
  9. I think the title is fairly self explanatory. In case it's not: I felt that the idea of maybe having a pool of generic/neutral Companion potentials would be quite cool. You would acquire them through doing a chain of quests maybe across a couple of planets - some sort of service for them, or rescuing them, etc etc, that would eventually result with you being able to use them as a companion. The idea is, anyone on that faction could do these quests, and thus get these non-class specific Companions. You could spread them through the levels, 20/30/40/50 etc, if you didn't want them all available instantly, too. Maybe add some dynamism too. Say one quest chain has a potential to pick between one of two possible companions, but you can only choose one. Perhaps in this case, you'd get to use both as a guest at separate occasions, so you would have some experience with which to decide which one you wanted to eventually "settle" on. That's just another spin on the idea. "Oh you chose Companion A1 during Companion A questline?" "Yeah they can do XXXX!" "Ohhh, well I chose Companion A2 because of XXXX" "Ah nice, well maybe I will get them on my next character." Etc. (And please make one of them Ugnaughts and/or Ortolans )
  10. Really really really sorry if this has already been mentioned but.. On the Imperial side of Taris (early to mid 30s) the sort of main plot quests on Taris have you fighting a Jedi at one point that does this EXACT move that you show in your video clip. It was really odd because I saw this thread the same day I saw the move. I think the enemy name is Master Sulin (he's a Nautolan)? It's the series of quests where you get the annoying competitive sith apprentice Thana (Vesh?) dogging you at every turn. Just wanted to let you know.
  11. I'll chime in with my own question that has me concerned. Are players who have started characters on all 8 slots going to be penalised in some way because the Legacy system will introduce things that can only be used on newly made characters? This will be a huge disappointment if so (because it's something that's out of our control, i.e. you haven't told us what the Legacy system is going to include for us to even be able to make a decision to NOT start making alts). For example off the top of my head, expanded character customisation options. :\ Perhaps if you allow a retro-active system or something.
  12. Good post. You have my support. It's really bad, the bigger the recast timer is.
  13. Check my sig Also, on female consular there was a reply that started off with something like "Don't break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back.." but I can't remember it exactly, or where it was.
  14. I am pretty much entirely happy while playing the game. But it does not mean I am oblivious to certain quirks and quibbles that currently exist in the game. People focus on the negative more frequently. Also on forums like this, there will be a tendency to just see a more negativity than positivity, as opposed to an equal balance of positive and negative posts. I understand that Bioware will probably try to fix the glaring stuff in due course - but I suppose a lot of people are impatient or just don't care. What can one possibly say to these people to reassure or appease them? Sometimes I think nothing can be done. They either grow some patience for when the fixes will be coming in, or just move on.
  15. Hah, nice. There are some really neat glitches with lightsabers. My favourite being the one where if you're asked to destroy an object for a mission, and you use your lightsaber to stab it, if you don't currently have your saber out, it will end up showing as if you've activated it but you'll be in normal walking mode. So you get the normal standing still stance, but with your lightsaber just in your hand, parallel with the ground. Very nice. Almost wish that was an emote. In fact, the same thing happens when you destroy an object BUT with the somersault slash. In this instance, the hilt is in your hand, but not turned on. The other one where people deactivate their sabers and put them on their belt, but it's still active visually (so it's pointing down at floor) is not so neat. Especially with double bladed lightsabers as one of the sides will stick up through your arm/shoulder!
  16. Very good argument. Arbitrary forced flightpoints should be free.

  18. A simple one: So when you open the main map, you can toggle icons to display on it, like vendor, crewskill trainers, taxis, etc. For some strange reason you can only ever have 1 toggled. It would be nice to maybe show taxis AND vendors perhaps. Or any number of them. Some icons I would always just show because there aren't many of them, e.g. class trainer, mail, taxi, etc.
  19. Anything inside = big turn off. (Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant) Anything outside = Yes please!! (Alderaan, Tatooine, Balmorra, Dromund Kaas, etc)
  20. Hey pal, you posted on SWTor forums. Rift forums are that way --->
  21. Yes, really. I've not heard anything about this. *shrug*
