  1. This is actually something on their agenda. As it is pretty pointless to buy a companion skin for humanoid species if they're just going to get a bucket put over it.. so what is actually happening is the designers for armor walked up to the companion skin designers.. and slapped them across the face. (That is just how I picture it.. I could be the only one) I actually just run around without a helm on mine anymore, and with the current bug for ears and implants it's become a bit challenging.
  2. I have gotten all 8 of the skins with only 9 boxes. But I do understand the frustrations many people have with the system (mostly from guild chat hate). But to see this on the positive side, for their first attempt at a game wide event, it went VERY smoothly. Our biggest complaint is about an item we can buy being random.. and that the vendor was overcharging if you showed up with too much.. (but hey, he's a jawa.)
  3. I would have to hope that the current level of ... suggestions... about the companion boxes has Bioware looking into some way to change this before the event ends, or as suggested above, put them on Taris. But I also would more than anything hope they learned their lesson on putting random into a limited time event. I'm sure many people would've happily paid double the price (40 dna) to buy them specifically.
  4. HK-47 is an antique, one of a kind, and a major story plot in the Old Republic. You'll take HK-51 and you'll like it!
  5. Not sure how this eluded you, I thought I was posted to most of the threads involving companions, but yes there currently are several companions without new skins, and various ones that skip a number here and there. I have pictures in my link below.
  6. They're posted in my link below with pictures, and their respective locations.
  7. They have hide companion helms in the works as it is a widely... suggested (in nice words) feature. Since some of us like to take the time to get that personal feel to our companions which Bioware games have always done so well. If you want to see some of them I have them posted on page 5 of my link, all except the inquisitor.
  8. There is one per basic class.. I have 7 out of 8 pictures on page 5 of my link below. The Inquisitor one is still a work in progress though.
  9. I have pictures posted on page 5 of the link in my signature, all but the inquisitor's companion. I've been working slowly at that class though.
  10. For the empire its: Balmorra cantina, Taris just to the east of the shuttle to the planet, Belsavis (can't remember off the top of my head, but I'm sure it's very close to the shuttle), and the security key vendors on ilum orbirtal station / fleet / kaas city.
  11. I have the pictures posted on page 5 of my link below, that's what they should look like. It's just their default skin but with glowing eyes and grey skin.
  12. Try buying the box on different characters throughout.. I had troubles getting Corso on my smuggler, but when I jumped to my consular he was the first one I got.
  13. They are Bind on Legacy, and if you're having bad luck on one character, say you main a BH and want Mako.. try logging into a different class. I got all 8 of them with only one repeat by just jumping around between the army of alts (for the thread in link).
  14. There is only one skin per basic class I have all but the inquisitor posted on page 5 in my link below if you want to see them.
  15. So you remove my scoundrel's giggle sound, which put a smile on my face.. then you remove my party bomb.. which also made me happy. And in turn I get... some ****** emotes? What do you have against the game being FUN bioware?
  16. No no, he's 100% correct. Comparing a class to their origins on the movies is how this should totally be done. I mean remember that clutch heal Yoda gave Luke when he was fighting Darth Vader? Or when Luke taunted the Emperor so Vader could get some burst dps off on him. These are serious issues we should be totally concerned with guys. Smuggler's should be exactly like Han Solo.
  17. I was informed to place this here, though I've already attempted it once. I've posted to the forums, sent personal site emails to devs, and tried in game tickets.. this is my final plea. I know 1.2 is coming and coming soon. As a scoundrel healer I've endured being the sub-par healing class due to small oversights. But I was always hoping for changes figuring that it could only get better in time. The only thing I see that is game breaking in 1.2 is the removal of my "grunt" due to other players being annoyed. I also noticed that nothing about the "grunt" sounds being removed from the other classes though.. the knight's HEY! and the cackle from the commando informing them that their skill has refreshed. Do we, the 6% population of scoundrels, complain about theirs? No. Yet here we are, being robbed of the small glimmer of joy our class offers, I simple little giggle. I predict this to be the last month of play for me, as the smuggler is what I love and have longed for since kotor.. to see the removal of something that brings a smile to my face is just proof that you, as a company, don't care about the customers.. and when a game becomes too much of a business and less about finding compromise so all gamers can find fun and entertainment, then it's time to cut the ties and move our seperate ways.
  18. To everyone who complains about my giggle while I'm healing I tell them I will comply with their request and not use anything based on the proc that the giggle signifies. No Kolto Pack's, no Emergency Medpacs, and no pugnacity. I'll just keep the 2 hot's and use my big heal that costs 1/4th of my resources. After the 2nd or 3rd wipe it becomes apparent that my "giggle" informing me of my procs is no less important than a knight's "HEY!" or the commando's "cackle" telling them their skill has refreshed. If anything, it's more important for us to hear this sound as it effects the vast majority of our skills.
  19. The bounty hunter and smuggler are the outside influence. Mercenaries, free roamers, call them what you will. Their story only has one center objective, and that's taken care of number one.. unlike other classes who have all of these superiors to report to and take orders.. these two classes do things if they feel like it.
  20. I'm confused on why that is relevant, but I would presume you're looking for someone in particular.. and it's probably the Bounty Hunter's This is where I go for it: http://www.hotrodacc.com/swtor/comp.html
  21. Knight for sure has the better companions of the two choices. Qyzen's hissing growling choking sounds made me play through with the game on mute until I got Tharan. He is one of the more interesting healer companions I've encountered so far, but then it's right back down hill with two dull military guys and the then Nadia, who isn't a letdown in the story department but the face makeup options makes up for that. Starting companions are what make and break a class to me, though I don't play Empire, I would say that Vette seems to be the best starter and all around when it comes to keeping your questing colorful and cheery.
  22. Anything in their armor proficiency (open your skill book with P) that doesn't say "Requires Class:---". They can wear all of the tier pve/pvp gear. Any social armor sets that you meet the social level for, the only thing they can't wear are class restricted and armor that is beyond their normal type. (medium, heavy)
  23. You'll have to farm the social level yourself, usually the Esseles (for republic) or the imperials starting flashpoint on the fleet is the best way to get it there. Or make a friend and quest together.
  24. You can put your companions in the tiered gear, but anything that says "Requires Class: ----" will not work. Mod gear for the companions isn't a huge must as your quests will provide you with upgrades throughout the planets. If you do get them mod gear you'll have to use comms to buy them mods (unless you're cybertech of course) it's 2 comms for a mod / enhancment and 7 comms for an armoring. In theory you're trading 11 commendations per armor part as opposed to just taking the companion quest reward over the single commendation.
