  1. The reason why the modifications are balanced the way they are is because Synthweaving and Armormech can craft items that go into 7 different armor slots (head, chest, arms, hands, belt, legs, and feet). But things like Cybertech, Artifice, and Armstech only make things that fill 1-2 armor slots (main hand and/or offhand, earpiece). So they're given more mods to keep the market evened out.
  2. This. The crafting system isn't perfect, but it's far from needing a complete overhaul. We haven't even seen everything that's possible to make yet. It's a very good system I think, it just needs some tweaks, which it sounds like they're addressing. The armor set I'm using is 100% crafted and I spent good money on it too because it's the only BH set that I really liked. I also sell quite a few ship upgrades, droid parts, and earpieces from my craft. Crafting in this game is great if you actually put the work in it that you're supposed to. If you pay attention to what sells well and RE stuff to get better schematics it's an easy way to make money. You get what you give.
  3. Which is why I don't see why people aren't complaining they don't get enough points. It's like a bonus, there's not supposed to be any epic rewards tied to it.
  4. What do you expect? If you don't SOCIALIZE then no cookie for you... Conversation is considered socializing. I'm not sure how else they could work in social points. Other than emotes between characters... but that would be weird.
  5. Haven't seen much of a drop on Canderous Ordo at all. Maybe 10% tops. I never expected there to be much of a drop off anyway. Everybody I know has really been enjoying the game. Plus I bet the majority of the people who left are the people who weren't playing much to begin with because they were unhappy. Which means you wouldn't have much of an effect on server pops
  6. That does you no good if you already have a full set of something but you want it a different color.
  7. I'd love for them to add dye. Between all the horribly designed armor sets and the ugly color schemes on the well designed armor sets, there's almost nothing for my BH to wear. I'd be so happy if we could at least get sets to a color we like.
  8. Agreed. The problem isn't so much having things like dailies to give people a boost. The problem is there isn't enough extra stuff aimed at the hardcore people to keep them feeling properly challenged.
  9. I'm a shield tech too. You can't go wrong either either Mako for heals or a dps. I used Mako up until about lvl 34 when I got Torian. Mako made things kind of easy mode, I hardly took any damage and I never died but the fights took a bit of extra time. After I switched to Torian the fights go quicker but I have to pay extra attention to my health and make good use of my damage mitigation abilties (which I rarely used with Mako). I like using Torian because it makes the fights more interesting and also allows me to feel more like the tank that I am.
  10. I'm the only person on my server I've seen with my set and it's one of the more heavily populated servers so I'd say it's pretty rare. It's white and light blue, it looks kinda like your traditional BH and it also makes me look super light sided so I like that. It's the RD-15B Commando set. I bought the helmet through Hoth commendations and I got the rest on the AH. Haven't seen any pieces from the set on the AH since I got mine either. I'm on my work pc right now so I'll have to upload a screenie later, but I'll link to torhead for now. http://www.torhead.com/search/rd-15b%20commando
  11. My BH is lvl 39 now and I've seen very few bugs. I haven't seen any of the class story bugs that people have mentioned, but I'm also a Light Sided female. The only thing I've really noticed is Guard not working right after the person I have it on dies and some animations not turning off after I use them (only happened a few times). All in all, not too bad.
  12. No I think he's looking for things like +shield and +absorption. Droids use Aim as their primary stat so it would do nothing for them to equip them with Strength. I'm not in the game right now so I can't say for sure on the lower level items, but I know that my higher level droid items do have tanking stats on them even before REing anything.
  13. Too bad you aren't on Canderous Ordo, I have a few up on the GTN right now. Ask around in your guild or on the fleet, see if you can find any high level Cybertechers who can make them for you.
  14. You can find the trainer on the fleet where all the crew skill vendors are or in a cantina if you're on a planet. You can send your companions on UWT missions from the Crew Skills menu.
  15. Actually it does make sense financially in the long run. That's how I've been making my money. About every other set I RE to get myself a purple Earpiece. Then I make more and sell them on the AH for a nice profit. It's a win win situation. You get the nicest possible item for yourself and you got something to make money with because the purple items sell for quite a bit more than the blues and greens. I'd also start REing items that you don't need but will have a high demand on the market.
  16. Get into a crafting skill and RE to get good schematics for it. I make most of my money from Cybertech. I haven't dropped bellow 250k since about lvl 35 and I spend a lot of money. I'm at about 325k right now and I'm only lvl 39. Just make sure you get the proper gathering and mission skills to go along with your craft.
  17. Check the AH. Cybertechs can craft Droid armor. I know my level 45+ droid parts have tanking stats on them. Which server are you on?
  18. Well said. I understand the reasoning behind haveing LS/DS restrictions on color crystals and it fits with the Star Wars universe. But they do need to change something. Purple shouldn't be restricted to the Empire is it's a Jedi who used it in the movies, it should be neutral. They should just add some more colors (weren't there a ton in KOTOR 2?) so they can even out the LS/DS restrictions in a way that's balanced. And they also need to allow crafters to make more/better crystals because the way it is now it's hard to find useful color crystals from crafters. Also, they should change the color restrictions to be restricted by Jedi or Sith and not alignmment. Because the way it is now non-force users are also restricted and there is NO reason for them to be restricted. And in the movies the colors go by their class (Sith or Jedi) and not their alignment.
  19. If that even was an actual Bioware employee. It could've just been a really creative troll... The blog that that statement came from was removed for violating wordpress's terms of service. http://ealouse.wordpress.com/2010/10/12/hello-world/ This website has a pretty good write up on the whole ordeal http://www.industrygamers.com/news/star-wars-old-republic-will-be-one-of-greatest-failures-in-history-says-mythic-employee/ And if it was actually a Bioware employee, he was a soon to be ex-employee. And of course someone who's about to be canned is a very reputible source. They wouldn't let their emotions or possible lack of competence play any part in it..
  20. This is great news. I'm glad to see that Bioware is working really hard on this game. Keep it up guys! Glad to know you're listening. All you need to mention now is combat logs and I don't see how anyone can really keep complaining.
  21. I've only had it happen about twice to me, so it hasn't happened much. Luckily my CPU and my PSU are both pretty solid, I guess that's my saving grace there
  22. I'll have try this when I get home. Thanks for the info.
  23. They'll fix it eventually, I'm sure. Have you submitted a bug report to Bioware yet? I will when I get home later, if they don't know about the problem they can't fix it.
  24. Wouldn't surprise me if that has something to do with it then. Since we're in the rare group having this problem and that's the one thing we have in common. I also saw somebody mention something about overclocking and driver changes a few posts back. Maybe it's causing a problem for the cards that are factory overclocked.
