  1. That may be true in other MMOs. But for some reason people especially love the evil guys in Star Wars more than anything else. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Empire is always more popular. I bet the margin that they outnumber the Republic by would decrease though.
  2. Just FYI. Some of you might want to take note that shift+RIGHT click is actually a better way of doing it. Either the right or left mouse button will split the stack, however if you left click it will also tag the item in your chat box. So if you right click it avoids that minor annoyance. Edit: But apparently this has already been covered... silly me.
  3. Yeah I think you're right. Supposedly the game has sold over 2 million copies now. So even if they retain just a third of those numbers, they'd have a pretty healthy subscriber base.
  4. WoW is boring, TOR is not. Obviously that's a personal opinion.
  5. Sad but true... not many people have patience these days. If it's not right immediately instead of giving them some time to fix things they just move on. Most new MMOs don't even have a chance because of it. It's disappointing because who knows how far those games could've gone if people had only given them a chance to work on things. I hope TOR doesn't suffer the same fate. Only time will tell...
  6. Agreed, I never understood the wild appeal of WoW to begin with. Even if SWTOR is behind WoW in development stages, I still enjoy this game far more. I just hope enough people stick it out through the rough patch so that TOR can really get into full swing.
  7. Just because it's COMPETING with modern WoW, doesn't mean it's fair to COMPARE it with modern WoW. I don't care what year it is, MMOs take time to develop and grow AFTER release. You can't expect the game to have 5 years worth of post-release content at launch. And they don't even become aware of a lot of bugs and such until they have a million players actually in the game hammering the systems.
  8. Yeah that would definitely be nice. And it's not so much of a big deal that it would make it OP either.
  9. That's an awesome way of looking at it. Unfortunately I play on the Empire, but I want to at least make an alt for the Republic because that's the side I actually wanted to play on. Bring on the challenge!
  10. 7 out of 10 statistics are made up on the spot.
  11. That would be nice but it would probably never happen for two reasons... 1. It wouldn't be fair to the players who don't have jetpacks unless they could find a way to give them a similar ability. 2. It would allow players to get to spots on the map that aren't supposed to be accessible, or at least not so easily. Anyway we get more than just one move that utilizes our jetpack. Death from Above, Jet Charge, and Rocket Punch all use it. Even if it was just DFA, that's enough use for me
  12. It happens every now and then. I usually notice it coming from guildies though. I have to admit I never really think of buffing people randomly while I'm walking around. But I'm gonna try to do it more.
  13. It's bothering a ton of people. I've seen at least four different threads about it now... I'm glad glad people are making a lot of noise about it for once because the change really has made things a lot harder. It was so much better with things being grayed out.
  14. The missions that are granted through those discovery items are one-time use only. Once you use it, it's gone. Unless you buy another one.
  15. I agree. If you know how your abilities work you should've been able to tell why abilities weren't able to be used the way it was before. If the gray bar was moving down the ability then you know it's on cooldown. If it's blacked out and I can see that it's off cd and I'm high on heat, then I know that's my problem. If it's blacked out and off cd and it's an ability that requires the target to be incapacitated, then I know that's the problem. I don't see how the change they made would make that any easier. It just made it harder to tell when some things are still on cd. I don't mind the cyan bar, but they should at least black out the unusable abilities again.
  16. I had all that information before they changed it... now I have less because it's hard to tell when some things are still on cd. It was working the way it was before, I never had any problems.
  17. This. I do PvP on occassion but I prefer PvE mostly because of the above. And also because I enjoy the story aspect of the game. PvP gets old faster to me.
  18. I SO agree! That's really been bugging me. On the things with longer cds it's hard to tell if the light colored bar is totally gone or not. I can't tell you how many times I tried activating an ability that wasn't quite ready yet. I don't know why they would even change that. It was much better with it being blacked out. You could easily tell what was ready and what wasn't. Aside from that, I do like the new visual displays they added to Guard. And I thought they said they were adding visuals for taunts with this patch too but I didn't notice any...
  19. The money that you pay upfront is a deposit. You get it back whether the item sells or not. They do charge you a fee after it sells but it's really very minimal.
  20. So which is it? Didn't their initial sales break an MMO record? How could that possibly have been below their expectations? They either don't know what they're talking about or they just wanna get people riled up for some reason.
  21. I'm 23... 1. I'm rolling on the Empire because my boyfriend and my friends all play on that side and I really wanted to be a Bounty Hunter. A trooper just wouldn't feel the same. But if it weren't for that I'd be on the Republic because I always root for the good guys and I like playing as one too. 2. I'm still light sided even though I play on the Empire. I'm an outcast but I kind of like it. It makes my Bounty Hunter feel even more independent and I like that she brings some sympathy to a job that's usually so harsh. As for Vette, I don't care... it's a game. People need to lighten up. Like people haven't seen worse in GTA. 3. In this game my main is a tank. I usually play support/healer roles in other MMOs but I wanted to try something different. I liked the idea of being able to take a hit for a change. And why should girls only have to fill one role? There's plenty of room for female tanks in this game too, people are always shouting for tanks
  22. Female here! I've seen a few girls in the game, but you can never tell whether they're REALLY girls or not
  23. Exactly. Learn to play without the extra toys and you'll be a better healer for it.
  24. Nope. Maybe people should try to learn to play the game for what it is instead of having everything spoon fed to them.
  25. What do you know... the problem IS with ATI. I tried out AA on my lunch break with my Nvidia card and it seemed to work fine. Graphics got noticably smoother and my fps didn't drop by much. I feel sorry for the ATI people
