  1. This is fantastic news! I can't wait to get home to try it. Thanks for putting in so much hard work Bioware!
  2. Do you have a friend you could group with to level? I've gotten a ton of social points just from questing with my boyfriend.
  3. Either Cybertech, Armormech, Armstech, or Biochem have their uses for us PTs. What do you think you would rather be able to make for yourself? Armor upgrades and gadgets, armor, weapons and weapon mods, or stims and medpacks? Currently there are a lot of Biochemers out there so if you're like me and prefer to take something that's less common (more marketability) you should go with one of the other three. I do Cybertech and I like it. I can make mods and armorings to keep my armor up to date and I can make better earpieces for myself than what you can get through drops and quests (the purple ones anyway). I also make a good amount of money off of it. Despite what people around here will have you believe, all the crafting skills have their uses and can be profitable. HOWEVER you have to know what you're doing and play it smart.
  4. Even though he melees his primary stat is aim, so maybe the game classifies it as "ranged damage" because of that even though it's technically melee damage.
  5. If you're healing why would you use Mako? Mako is really useful if you're a tank, but I think you'd be much better off with a DPS or tank companion as a healer. Torian does really good DPS, I've been using him lately and I'm a tank so if I can use him I'm sure you can. You could have Blizz tank too but I'm not sure how good he is since I haven't quite gotten him yet.
  6. This is a great explanation I found it very helpful. Thank you sir
  7. Yes but those pieces of armor that the mods go into sell for much more than the mods themselves. So it still evens out.
  8. I'm on the Empire side and droid parts sell pretty well for me. The Imperial Agent gets Scorpio who's a droid. There are also people who do equip their ship droid and use him as a healer. You just gotta pay attention to the market and see what's in demand. My lvl 35+ droid parts sell the best because the Agents get Scorpio after that point. Scorpio: http://www.swtor-spy.com/companions/scorpio/90/
  9. Judging from the dev blog and people's comments today I'd say it was improved by a lot but still not quite completely fixed.
  10. Just goes to show you how many people complain just because they WANT the game to fail. It ruins their game plan when Bioware gets stuff done.
  11. Yeah you can equip the ship droid. But there are also classes that get an actual companion that's a droid.
  12. Which is why it isn't fair to compare it with current WoW. WoW has had much more time to work on things and more money to spend on those things. It will take time and money for TOR to get itself to the level that WoW is at now. I think in another year this game will be pretty damn awesome as long as people stick with it.
  13. I make most of my money through Cybertech and I have more money than any of my friends. Ship Upgrades, earpieces (purple and blue ones, not green), and droid parts are my big sellers. I don't even bother with mods except for personal use.
  14. What he said. If you're planning on doing a lot of crafting then you'll really want UWT over slicing. All of the slicing schematics end up on the GTN at some point and the UWT mats are extremely expensive on the GTN so you'd be better off getting them yourself.
  15. Get this one. It looks way better than the one at the security key vendor. And it's cheaper I think too...
  16. I got most of it off the GTN. I don't think it was crafted though because I don't remember seeing any name tags on the pieces so it must drop off something. The helmet and belt are at the Hoth commendations vendor though.
  17. Same here, if you don't get it in that amount of time then it's your fault. But if it's disappearing from your mailbox quickly then it's probably a bug. Have you submitted a ticket?
  18. I'm rockin the RD-15B Commando set. It really brings out my light side http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z355/DarrkLore/RD-15BCommandofront.jpg http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z355/DarrkLore/RD-15Commandoback.jpg
  19. *See bolded point... Exactly! Do you know how much time it would take them to recode the entire game to a totally different engine? Lots of time which equals lots of money paying programmers. It would not be easy and it would be time consuming. They'd be better off sticking with their current engine and figuring out how to optimize it.
  20. You're right they don't equal. You get a much greater reward than what you put into it. You just have to pay attention to what sells and what's needed on the market and RE engineer the right things. And you want to get yourself purples schematics because those items sell for a lot more. Seriously if you want to craft, don't like the people who didn't do it right tell you not to craft. It's not for everybody, but if you know what you're doing it's great. My crafting has been very profitable to me since lvl 30ish. You just gotta play it smart.
  21. What joke? I've never heard of having too much money as being a problem. You don't see Bill Gates begging the government to take more taxes out of his profits. I'm sure they'll add stuff along the way for me to spend on. If not, oh well, I still get to feel like a millionaire for a change which is nice
  22. Yes that does seem to be true, but I've gotten quite a few non-orange pieces off the AH from crafters too. And my mods and armorings never really sell, at least not at a rate that will profit me like I'd like. I don't even bother selling them. Also I think Artifice gets three because they don't have as many unique items as the others. I know Cybertech has a lot extras, I'm not sure about Armstech though.
  23. Sure maybe the mods aren't too useful. But if the whole point of crafting was only to make end game items, then we wouldn't have the other 95% of items that we have. I've found my Cybertech to be very useful while leveling. I can make mods and armoring to keep my orange pieces up to date and I can make myself really nice earpieces while leveling. And let's not forget... MONEY!!! Who cares about making stuff that's useful for you when you have enough money to just buy whatever you want? I've made a ton of money with Cybertech, I have more money than any of my friends. I think that alone makes it pretty darn useful.
  24. This is what I've been doing too. My main is a Bounty Hunter with Cybertech/Scavenging/UWT and my alt is Armormech/Slicing/Investigation. My plan is obviously to have my main supply the materials for both and it's been working well so far since the lower grade missions are fairly quick. However, I can see it becoming a problem later on when missions take 20+ mins. If it becomes a problem I'll drop Slicing for Scavenging at that point. But for now I'm sticking with it to stockpile augments and companion gifts. I'm not too worried about dropping Slicing after leveling it because I consider it a bonus so I feel like there's nothing to lose.
