So here's my take on it - as a casual player. The idea of providing meaningful rewards for any type of game content you choose to play - is IMO a good idea. I think the implementation of that was mostly good with the exception of two things. The speed of getting the GC crates, and what's in the crates themselves. I appreciate that BW is listening to player feedback and is willing to make changes to both of those items. Speeding up the crate drop will help to motivate players to play content IMO. I like several suggestions in this thread in regards to whats in the crates themselves. Particularly that the crates include unassembled components. If the crates contained legacy bound unassembled components it would eliminate the frustration of duplicate pieces of gear, and make gearing and also playing alts much more rewarding. My current experience so far with 5.X is that most of my usable gear has come from OPS drops and it's been supplemented by GC crates. I'd say it's a 3:1 ratio in my play through. I feel like I need to play OPS for any reasonable chance to gear up.

I don't support less items developed per pack even if "they're more gold/silver". That just means less development time creating new gear and more of a chance for me to get older gear. Overall that is less value to me as a paying customer. No thanks.

If this results in bronze going away and just having 2 tiers with a chance of old gear I don't support it. Basically you would be reducing our choices by creating less gear. That is only delivering less value overall.

I'd support an easier way to get blue war hero crystals. It's one of the most difficult to get yet very "normal" as far as usage. It's not magenta or something like that. Also get off POT5 - i was there for years but moved to Harbinger and have loved it. Plus I have 22 toons so feel your pain.

It would be nice to have the 2 durations the same. I would think that would be a somewhat easy fix once it's been pointed out and identified.

Marauders/Sentinels receive new ability - Force Gash: Immediately kills all Sorcerer/Assassins within 1000m. Cooldown 9 seconds. CD can be further reduced by further use of the ability.

So I don't raid, much; mostly pvp. But it doesn't make much sense for the hardest content in the game to reward less than easier content. I don't support this philosophy. I'd rethink it, Bioware. It doesn't have to reward a new tier of gear (although i think it should be like 1-2% better at minimum) it needs to at least give the best gear and the titles and mounts are another good incentive. And this is coming from someone who's never done a NiM anything. I do support progression raiders and their playstyle even if i don't do it myself. Its fun to see and I think they make the whole game better by providing guides etc...
