With the loss of Crippling Throw I definitely have a more difficult time staying on targets. I imagine any combat/carnage player would say the same. Unfortunately i've had to forgo some of the more defensive utilities in order to take the utilities that provide snares, roots, and increased root durations in order to compensate for the loss of Crippling Throw. That's one of the oft overlooked consequences of losing Crippling Throw. It DECREASES the choice in utilities because we have to make up for it somehow. The utilities are pretty "meh" to me. I think they should add back Crippling Throw as a snare with the heal buff. Drop Leg Slash and then add the root of Crippling throw into utilities. It could be added to Stagger or replace the dumb double leg slash one (just pursuit). They could also change Force Aegis or Enduring to make GBtF take the health first or reduce the health taken. Either of those moves would help a bit on the defensive end. Another utility that would be useful defensively and offensively would be some kind of movement impairement immunity or CC immunity. We don't have that and most other melee classes do.

I'm not saying it's a big deal just that it doesn't seem consistent with how the rest of the game is. No where else do you come out of the loading screen upon reaching a planet to a pvp zone that's also a shared quest hub. Inconsistent design suggests possible oversight. -

So far I'm still experimenting with my Sentinel. It definitely didn't get much improvement with 3.0. I'm curious about a couple things before I move on to some of my other classes. The first being how the 6 piece set bonus affects my gamelplay consistently. I like the idea of a Precision > Clashing Blast > Autocrit Dispatch. That's good for at least 20k damage. Second I'm still playing around with what utilities work best. I'm messing with a setup that gives me the most control possible Debilitation, Defensive Forms, Stagger (yeah I know it's bad), Incisor, Pulse, Fleetfooted and Contemplation. The new Force Stasis is a massive improvement over the old one but it doesn't take the spot of Crippling Throw for carnage players. If I feel ike I can get enough uptime on targets I'll drop Stagger or Incisor/Pulse for something that gives me a little bit more longevity. Those are my thoughts atm. I made my concerns clear when they posted the proposed changes and will continue to. Hopefully we will get some improvements in time.

Just tested it out last night and while under the WZ buff I got a 15,7XX hit from Clashing Blast. Normal hits are in the 11-13k range so it appears it does indeed still buff damage. With relic proc, force leap damage bonus, new 2 piece set bonus, warzone buff, and inspiration I bet 18-20k is reasonable on a geared player. Of course that kind of crap happens once a millennia.

I've done this as well. I'm not a terrible big fan of Republic side Balmorra for example, so I plan to enter the planet overleveled and just do the class quests and move along. Works great. I've done it on multiple toons. Being a guilded subscriber with legacy perks and XP boosts means you will NEED to skip numurous quests in order to stay "on level". Skipping quests means you can pick and choose which to skip for variety amongst toons. As much variety as with the 12xp event? no. But that was an event rather than the norm.

Correct. In a 1 v 1 scenario healers lose to dps. If "someone comes to help" it's not a 1 v 1.

I went with t1 mainhand and offhand then t2 mainhand. Then i got belt and bracers so i could keep my old 4 piece set bonus and get the new 2 piece bonus as i gear up.

Not sure about in 3.0 but i read the text on the buff 2 weeks ago and it said "improves damage and damage reduction by 15%" or something along those lines. Maybe the text is wrong because before that I thought I remembered BW saying it was just going to be for DR going forward. But that's what it said.

The Coalition area needs to be non-flagged area. The faction disparity just makes it un-fun. Its one of the only quest hubs in the game that is flagged. Only reason it's halfway passable right now is because people are trying to level. When those folks are leveled up and board it's gonna be rough for new players! -
Player gear is in serious flux right now. That being said in 60 warzones I routinely hit 11-13.5k Clashing Blasts on my sentinel. I imagine getting a 16-17k would be possible on a geared target if one had the power relic proc'd, the warzone damage buff, and inspiration all running.

Yep, it's a good expansion! I'm enjoying the story and locations even more than I enjoyed Makeb. Definitely lots of fun! I think Yavin 4 is ripe for future work too, so it's good to have it in the game! -

Still it's difficult for me to swallow. And I lost it in my spec. 2 specs lost it. One spec kept it. The other abilities are no longer on the Sentinel at all. -

Likes: - Art design for the new planets is terrific! - Disciplines. Even with the nerf to my Sentinel. - More crafting levels and schematics - Story seems good so far. I'm not all the way through yet. - Solo mode FP's are fun, too easy, but fun. - Legacy companion gear is cool. - Simplification of the comms. Planetary, Classic, Basic, Elite, and Ultimate were too many. - Class missions were cool - Can send out 6 companions - Cool new mobs, such as massassi - Like the lore of the new locations alot, specifically Yavin 4 Dislikes: - No quicktravel point in rest areas. I used my Stronghold when logging out but also like to logout in cantinas. - No dalies terminal. That will be a pain once I just want to grind rep. - Empire and Republic working together is difficult to believe - Ability lag - Slight Bugginess - Nerf to damage - Loss of abilities such as Crippling Throw, Riposte, and Cauterize. Any other class lose 3 and gain 1 replacement? -
