  1. I remember when I was in college with my Compaq intel 230ghz with a 256mb ram card playing Red Alert online. So, yes, if I could play football, take a full course load and play online while in college back in the mid 90's, you can as well. Its college, whats the worse thing that could happen if you miss a few classes?
  2. because the first time you say something mean, someone reports you and then you get the email warning that you will be perma-banned if you continue.
  3. Hum I wonder when this guy you quoted was online. Because chat was so bad the other night, almost everyone got warnings. Even balmora's chat is heavy, so this dude is just making crap up. At no time on any of the first 3 servers during the past 3-4 nights has any of those planets's general chats been empty.
  4. Naw, there is a difference between WoW's story and SWTOR and that can be found in the quest. Here is an example of WoW's quest farmer Joe: Hey, I have heard of you. You seem like a strong warrior who has nothing else to do at this moment. I need you to go kill 10 birds that keep bothering me. In return, I will give you 5 silver and 200 xp. The main difference in WoW and SWTOR is why you are doing the quest. In wow you have to go kill 20 things just like in SWTOR, the difference is in WoW you kill 10 birds for who knows what reason, but in SWTOR, you are sent to kill 20 sharpshooters who are taking out soldiers on guard duties. When you kill 20 things in SWTOR, at least you are given a reason that some what backs the storyline.
  5. This is where you are wrong. I re-rolled a sith marauder on Fatman and have enjoyed it even more so than my first toon I made on Vonarsk (sith Juggy). This is the only game where people say they hate having to re-roll toons. Why? In every other game I have played people have atleast 4-5 different toons with different profs. Hell in SWG, people would have mulitple accounts just so they can have more than 2 toons on one server. But because everyone is so hard up on insulting TOR, they try and act like they only want one toon and only one prof. Dude seriously, just make new toon with a prof you havent played yet and try to freaking enjoy something. If that doesnt work for you, then I dont know bro, maybe go and play D3 for about an hour and see how many things you can hate about that game.
  6. you have a excellent point! Do not allow transfers but instead a full merger. Take 5 EC PVE servers and merge them into 1 EC PVE server ect ect. Allowing transfers will only create problems because we are but a simple race group of people who will only screw this up. Instead of us transfering to a server that others are transfering to, we will wind up transfering to a server that others are transfering away from. BW, you have to take this out of our hands and force us to a new server. That IMO is the only way we will fix server populations.
  7. you did read the part about the server transfers. Where you only have 1-3 active servers now, once transfers start, you will have numerous huge active servers. So your issue with the dead servers are soon to be irrelevant.
  8. Lets see, I was online this mourning @ 0520ESt and Fleet had right at 228 people and Dromond Kaas had around 110. So, I would say as of right now and as of 0520 this mounring (which is not even prime time for Fatman) the server is in no way shape or form tanking. Making a toon on Fatman is not a fix; however, it does allow for you to remember what it felt like back when this game went live before all of the WoW babies went back to their ubber Elite high tier gear that took them 6 years to get. making a toon on Fatman will allow you to enjoy the game as it was meant until server merger/transfers take place. If you have 10 EC PVE servers with around 100 logged in at any given time, just think how much better merging those 10 serves into 1 primary server would be. The activity alone would make you feel all warm inside. Then instead of crying about server population, everyone can go back to crying about something else.
  9. I felt the same way when I played SWG. But SWG was my first MMO. Afterwards, it was just the same ole same ole. Its not the mechanics that I look at, but I guess what the game is based on. Still to this day, no game has captured the individuality of a solo player like SWG. The amount of customization has yet to be duplicated (from my perspective) nor has the individually driven economy.
  10. sure 400k left the game. Sure more will leave and more will come back. Most who have left have done so seeking greener pastures. The same way those who left WoW came to SWTOR (until they realized all that top tier gear they spent years grinding for was useless in TOR, so they went back to where they were the BMOC). But as soon as people see that D3 does not redefine their concepts of social interaction along with GW2 and its F2P system requiring them to spend 2x more money in order to be relevant than they would on a sub, they will all see that all of these games they have hoped to change every aspect of the MMO genre, are nothing more than a repeat of some of the first MMO produced. No MMO can break the mold in a way that will make people feel "wow this is new and refreshing". As soon as all of the little kids realize that, the better off they will be and the longer they will be able to commit to a newer game.
  11. BW, just wanted to say keep it up! You guys put out a great product (even though it might need some improvements here and there). All and all, I have enjoyed the past 5 months and will continue to so. I just tried out D3, and coming from a game produced by the MMO king, lol it failed hard to even remotely grasp my attention more than a day or so. So with that, SWTOR, I give you a +2 in my book! What does a +2 mean, hell if I know, but its better than a +1...
  12. The problem is, everyone came to this game hoping that it would redefine their social existence, be bigger and better than any other game out atm. When I first logged on during beta and was sitting on koriban, I was ecstatic and could sit for 20 minutes just looking around at the landscape. This hasn't changed for me. I still find my self looking at the small minor details that BW has included and still can find excitement in what I am seeing. SWTOR is new, a baby compared to wow and other long term games. The best thing about SWTOR is that there is no where to go but up. It has been 5 months since the game went live and since then, I have played as much as my life would allow. As I said back in January, give the game time to advance and grow. If $15 sub fee means that much to you, then you should not be playing online games but rather out looking for another job.
  13. I followed this game since the day it was first announced. I waited for beta and for the live release. I suffered through swg, wow, aoc and dcuo while waiting for swtor, but at no time was I expecting tor to redefine my outlook on social interaction. I started playing on day one back on Dec 13 & will continue to play until its end. I know what ever short comings the game might have ATM will get fix and as long as bw continues to support this game, I will support them. I must be different than most who play mmos because I do not require the game to be perfect. Hell, it cost $15 a month to sub and honestly, if $15 is that much, then maybe you should be working more any way. But for the love of God simple minded America, give Bw a chance....
  14. D3 went live and 90% of the players can not even get past the login screen. The aervers have been crashing about 10 times an hour....please tell me how TOR was anything other than a perfect launch? Info and stats were posted by Toms hardwarr.
  15. What do you think? What normally makes a mmo go F2P? Lack of interest? Lack of subs? People think just because every server isn't full on a Tuesday afternoon @1430 the game is losing subs. I love this game, but because of this little thing called "work" I cant play nor have I had more than an hour each night over the past 2 weeks to play. Does my absence mean that I dislike the game or I am unsubbing? Nope, it only means that I can not play because of my real life. Wait until may-june when the kids get out of school and college is out and you will see the populations go up again. Just like every year on almost every MMO (to include SWG).
  16. pvp: SWTOR (for to long I sat at the Restuss Space Port waiting for a single red dot to appear just to have over 20 people jump up and kill the red dot within 5 secs) pve: SWTOR (there is nothing I can say they everyone doesn't already know) crafting: SWG (SWG had one of the best crafting systems known to man) Interaction: SWG (SWG offered much more interaction with others. With player cities and houses, guilds felt like guilds) quest: SWTOR (while the quest are the same, the slight difference in class quest make the difference. SWG, you had the same exact quest from start to finish regardless what your class was)
  17. Because the gaming community is simple minded and cant help but act like 14yo after her parents takes her cell phone away!
  18. Ok 1.) this is not the question of the month and 2.) you can do better than the above post. Please rethink your point of view and try again next month!
  19. Honestly, I would like to see a simple well designed cloak over robe. It seems that the armor, which is fine in many aspects does not fit the time frame. 300 years before SWTOR: In KOTOR 2 seen here: http://scifimmorpg.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/star-wars.jpg During SWTOR: http://www.swtorguide.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/SWTORSithInquisitor11-1024x576.jpg and 3k years after SWTOR: http://www.poster.net/star-wars/star-wars-episode-iii-anakin-skywalker-4900969.jpg http://www.poster.net/star-wars/star-wars-episode-iii-anakin-skywalker-4900969.jpg I know there has to be some form of design advancement, but there are tons of alternatives. something like this http://thecoolship.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/250px-Jedi_Revan.jpg I am not saying there shouldn't be jedi/sith all armored up, but I would like to see some good looking robes under cloaks as well. The one issue I have with the current cloak system is that the devs designed the cloaks to be worn under the belt. like this: http://www.polishtheconsole.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/swtor.jpg when in fact they should look like this: http://www.themogblog.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/swtor.jpg I understand from a design point of view the animations for a free flowing cloak is harder than to just have the cloak tighten around the waist with a belt, but come on, this is Bioware and LA.... I am more than positive they have the resources to implement something along these lines. But after playing the game, it seems a majority of the PVP gear and high level gear is based off of some crazy fantasy game like WoW. the Huge shoulder pads, buffed fore arm armor ect ect seems out of place. Jedi and Sith are known for being simple, I think over loading the classes with overwhelming armor is taking away from the 30 or so years of what the movies and the EU has established as a look for jedi/sith.
  20. I am still playing and enjoying it... so it must be doing something right
  21. No he is not the guy who said this, he is the guy who said SWTOR would be F2P by March.......
  22. well, if that is an official video, then I would say BW is attempting to make the game what people desire it to be. I saw many features that have been mentioned in many post that mostly resemble a 4yo crying. Either way, looks good BW.
  23. dont buy it! It is a base line of all base line computers. The case is a micro case and will not allow you to upgrade anything. There are tons of computers that offer more for around the same price. How much money do you have to spend on the system?
