  1. Lol, thats all I can do in reference to you post.....
  2. The only f2p games that I have played are AoC, Lotro and Dcuo...each of them are designed for you to pay for content. You want to run a dungeon, you have to pay for entrance, you want a mount, you pay for it, so to enjoy all aspects of a game, you will pay alot more than what is being charged. Think about it, having to pay $4.99 for each flash point, ect ect....
  3. Dear lord you all are beating a dead horse, so I will take a few more swings as well. $15 a month for a sub regardless what the $15 is meant to cover, you are paying to play. I payed $15 a month for swg because I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the game plain and simple. I also paid $15 a month when it got borring and repetitive because I wanted to enjoy it. I paid $15 from 2004 until the day ot went free at its end. I paid out of habit and because I knew if I wanted to get online to kill someone in restuss I needed to. I know those who dislike this game troll these forums in hopes of seeing something that might change their opinions about the game (that or life ia that simple for them that the only enjoyment they can find is bashing the likes of others) but still, if its worth the time, pay, if not go somewhere else and pay, either way, you will pay.
  4. My server has yet to be selected; however, about 3 Weeks ago I made a toon on fatman to roll while we waited for xfers to go live. From the moment I fist got on koriban and saw 100ish people playing I knew things would be different once xfers hit. Koriban was just the tip, when I got to fleet, 200ish people were there and so on when I reached kaas.. The amount of low levs was high because everyone was rolling ALTs as well, but from just a active view point it was great. I have 4 lev 5/s to xfer and a fer 20-30ish on my main. But if their new server is anything like fatman (& it will be) the game is going to get very entertaining.
  5. I have a question in regards to the issue of laying off TOR team members. If it takes 2k people to code, design and implement these aspects into a game, how many do you need to maintain and produce additional features to the game now that 99% of the foundation has already been established. Do you need the entire 2k employees to stay on staff to implement the smaller new features that only add to what has already been established or is a smaller more detailed team a better fit financially for maintaining the future of TOR? If you have 50 people who build a house, do you need all 50 people to stay and maintain the house and later add a smaller room here and there or do you only need a few of the original members to do the above? All I am saying, letting go members of the original dev team does not mean the game's future is in jeopardy, it only means they were overstaffed and the high numbers were redundant.
  6. Hum, my main server has not been listed for xfers yet but I made a toon on Fatman about 2 weeks ago to help pass the time until xfers went live. Back then we would have about 140-200 on fleet at 0200est. Now when I get off of work and log in at or around 0200est, the fleet sits at about 280ish. What does this mean, well, when I yell out "Rolling Cademimu, who wants in" I get about 10-15 replies instantly and so on with other FP. So, from a playing perspective, having to move to a heavy pop server should be your w-t dream. What does the 280ish players on fleet mean to FPS....well my rig is a modest personally built machine with a AMD 1075T 6x CPU, 2x 460 GTX 1gb GPUs (SLI) 8 GB of average best buy ram and a simple 1tb HDD. With the above mentioned population and with what the Dev have posted as being a "tune up", my FPS sit at around 33-40. Now, once I am on planet, in a FP or in a WZ, my FPS jumps up to around 60ish. So, with that, a high populated server not only allows me to do everything the game offers whenever I desire to do it, it has yet to affect the quality of the game.
  7. LOL I pay a kid $40 each time he mows my yard...so thats a 90 sub...
  8. That is the problem....NOTHING can NOR will meet their needs. Nothing will give them the warm -n- fuzzy. We are dealing with the “now” generation who must have things perfect immediately. This is a MMO which means its design to please the greater number not the minority, so, the minority who dislike a game will most likely dislike every other game on the market as well. Also, if $15 is that important as to affect if someone will/could eat, then playing an Online game is not a priority to begin with; therefore, the cost of a sub is irrelevant. The OP's message is not meant for those who cannot afford food, but for those who obviously have the income to waste on a past-time like a MMO. He is talking from an overall general perspective in how a $15 sub is nothing when most people spend that much on increasing their obesity. I feel the same way; I do not look at $15 a month as anything of significance. When I was in SWG, I had 3 active accounts which totaled $45 a month. Now that amount was not bank breaking but was enough to make me keep track of. But this is $15...and if you are your parents (not you specifically guy who I am replying to) cannot afford this amount, then maybe mowing your neighbor’s yard might be more time worthy. .
  9. Hey, did you guys here that GW2 is going to be F2P (without micro transactions)????? LOL and you guys are worried about SWTOR....let’s see how long the devs over in Korea can afford to keep the "I WANT IT NOW" kids entertained with the only revenue the game brings in will be from initial game purchases...I look forward to see the endless amount of content that will be supporting the hype...... this might have worked in the past when there were only a small handful of games out, but right now with so many MMOs flooding the market....sure ok...I look forward to trolling GW2's forums to see the steady flow of tears....... If SWG could last 8.5 years with subs, I am sure SWTOR will be fine. We fanboys alone will sustain the cash flow without the leftover WoW crowd who continue to jump from one game to another game looking for that warm sensation they first felt when they first signed onto their first mmo.....while you all are still trying to repeat how you felt back in 2004 after leaving WoW, EQ, EQ2, AOC, Lotro, DCUO, SWTOR, D3 and GW2. We will be here still enjoying this game. But good luck with finding something that will make you happy....(although we all know you will never find it)
  10. You people are given an inch and you run for 10 miles lol!!! I love it when people assume and/or speculate. F2P....sure ok, yeah right. Ill accept it when it is not posted on some 3rd rate blogging site.
  11. GW2....wait, that game is not going to have a sub right? So you can play for free? So what the company makes for each copy sold is meant to sustain development through the game's life correct? If I head correctly and read correctly about GW2, it is not a F2P game where you will pay for certain aspects such as new quest, gear ect ect, but only for the game....Well, in that case, lets see how long that initial pot of case will last until development of new content bleeds it dry.... Never trust something that is given for free......
  12. While I will stay in this game until it goes away like SWG, what this guys said is exactly what I think the game needs to work on accomplishing. I do not require the /above instantly or over-night; however, a plan to work on some of these example over the next year or so will suffice. I am not nor will I ever be someone who needs or desires everything to be perfect. I do not need things my way to enjoy as long as the "powers that be" continue to attempt to improve their product.
  13. This is one thing that I fully 100% agree with. I would love for there to be a color kit option in this game like we did in SWG.
  14. Yep I agree......should of not cried about everything and stuck with the game!
  15. I have had my name <-------- (kraith) since 2004 when I first signed onto SWG and have had it ever since. Everyone who knows me most likely will know me by this name. But with saying this, by no means does this name have any significance in my life. It’s just a name I assigned to some little digital man that I play on a video game. If I transfer and for some reason there is another person that happened to use the name Kraith, which in return forces me to rename my toon, then I will find another name that I like (along with surname) Dear Lord people, it’s a freaking name, if this redefines your social perception of entertainment to that extreme level, then maybe you should stop playing any way. No way, no shape, no how should a name on a video game hold that much importance to force you to stop playing a game.....but then again, nothing within the MMO community will ever baffle me......
  16. So, BW tells us that we will be able to transfer to a different server in order to assist with population issues. This is good news, but why is it this thread is full of people complaining lol. So BW tells you something good that you have been crying over for months and instead of saying thanks, you say crap like "wow, I can not bla bla bla from a PVE server to a PVP server with bla bla that I have been working on for six months to play with my bla bla bla" How is this BW fault? Why or better yet, HOW can you blame BW for your inability to pick the right server to roll on when you started the game? Dear Lord child, seriously, you make me want to go punch a bunch of random people for no reason other than I feel the need to beat the stupid out of someone......
  17. Memos and back pay....lol you must be military But still, glad to see a post that is intended to identify something positive for a change.
  18. Everything they announced looked good. The fact EA even talked about SWTOR is a major lift for the game. How many times did SOE talk about SWG? Or how many times does EA talk about last years Madden/NCAA? The fact they even mentioned TOR this year was great. But lastly, to the OP, what else do you want? What else do you need? dear God when will you people accept the fact this game is only 6 months old and you will not get 6 freaking years worth of content the first few months of the game being live??? 6 months and already BW is giving us a new planet. do you understand how much work goes into making a planet with quest for 8 prof's? Do you understand how much work goes into raising the level cap by 4? Do you understand how much work goes into making all the 12yo kids happy? Dude, honestly, get over the "I deserve everything now" mentality.
  19. lol its $15 a month...if $15 a month is putting a fincial strain on your lifestyle, then you should not be playing video games anyway. Might want to go get another/new job. Just saying. I mean, I spend at least $20 at Burger King for my family every vist....so yeah, $15 is nothing.
  20. You will always have boring filler mission based on go here and kill that in MMOs. Thats the issue with these types of games. But here I will tell you why I have found SWTOR to offer a different style to these filler quest. In SWG, you had the main legacy questline which took you to around lev 40-45ish then from there you had added quest from game updates and/or expansions. But the problem is, no matter what prof you played or faction, or race, you always did those same exact quest with no variation. WoW, was a bit different, depending on your race and faction, you got to see a new quest line. LORTO was the same as WoW along with AoC. I did not play DCUO long enough to see anything other than the opening quest, so it sucked to even try to enjoy. SWTOR allows you to have 8 different main storylines and two main quest lines. While the quest are the same, go here and kill that, it is the reason you are doing so that is the difference between SWTOR and all of the above listed. But OP, if you unsub, what will you go play? D3? I played D3 for 3 hours and the bugs alone made me hate the game with a passion. What about WoW? Sure but you are only changing the skin of the quest not the concept of the quest. How about GW2? Well, its not out yet, so not an option. In other words, you are going to give someone $15, the question is, who would you rather get it and who would you rather see use it to better their product?
  21. I have read abouit 50 post that state: "of the game is a success, then why is my server dead...." well, its like this, back during beta and the first few days of the game being lives, thousands of people were complaining about the ques to login... BW reads these complaints and says, I got you and here is your solution. Poof...BW creates a crap load of new severs with low pop-caps. Now, the initial wave of "check out" players have left, all of those servers are left bare. But still, BW says, I got you and your solution will be in update 1.3.
  22. ok, so you unistalled the game.....why? You know you will be on these forums everyday checking on updates and one day you will see something you like but instead of using one of the quick weekend passes to check the new feature up, you will have to re-install the game. Uninstalling does not mean you are perma-done with the game, it only means you will have to re-install it......
  23. I would be happy with simple additions. - Cloaks that looked like cloaks which would be worn over armor and not worn with a belt tapering them around the waist which looks iTarded. - I would like some additional non-human races. I understand the armor issue ect ect - I want server MERGES not Transfers. - I would like to be able to invite people on my ship and/or drop decorations within my ship (yes I know, like in SWG). - I would like I would like them to come up with a way for me to rename my companions. I hate running around and seeing 20 Mako's everywhere (how does this make me feel original?) - Oh a few more warzones. We don’t always need objectives outside of killing the other player. Sure I know this would = open world pvp, but OWPVP requires you to go somewhere and warzones can be accessed anywhere regardless what you are doing. Just make a few maps, drop 16 kids off inside and let them kill each other for 10 mins.
  24. OP, good post! I have a several RLF that have done the same thing. They haded the UI, bugs ect ect, but i showed them what all has been fixed and what is going to happened and they came back, rerolled a toon on fatman and are enjoying the game again.
  25. You guys are smoking crack... The GTX 570 is a $400 card and the 590 sits around 400+ (regardless of brand) The CPU is about $250-300. The ram regardless if cheap or not is still sitting about $50 for 8gb - $150 for 8gb. The system regardless of how old it is will still handle anything out right now or coming out. Hell, My dual gtx 460's (SLI) can handle anything out right now maxed out. The fact that new GPU's and MOBO's are coming out, have came out, or might come out, when he has sitting in his system is still top tier. It has Win 7, (prob an OEM version) but still thats worth $99-$199 As far as a waranty, lol if you build your own system, there is no waranty any way which is what a majority of people who are commenting on here have done. Dude, you might not get what you paid for it, but you can get more than $800. You can go to any military base and get that much without even trying to sell it. Place it on cregslist and see what you can get.
