  1. (This seems like the place to ask this question, but I'm sorry in advance if it isn't) To those who have been transferred: does the game feel reinvigorated? Is it "new" and fun again? My sub ends on Sunday, and I would like to know if I should pay for a whole month just to try the experience of the new server (mine hasn't been selected for transfer yet, and with no new ones coming this weekend it looks like I'm hung out to dry)?
  2. I know this a question about future items as opposed to current ones, but it's been a burning question for me for a while. Any plans for a pazaak minigame? I do miss playing pazaak.
  3. Honestly I would feel much more comfortable losing either 25% knock back reduction and 5% threat count, or 1% heal increase, rather than the 10% boost to bubble absorption. I think even with how little I do cast it, when I do that 10% is extremely beneficial. As for which of the other two points to pull I think the decision will be entirely on a player-to-player basis. If you're confident in your tank and you're not really running with randoms much then losing the knock back reduction along with the threat reduction won't be a big issue for you. If that isn't the case then I think the defensive bonuses are worth more than a 1% healing increase. Essentially it's "if you're comfortable with your group, and you don't really venture out of said group too much" then take the 1% healing because it will benefit you more. The 1% healing is more a "comfy-cushion bonus" type of talent that can be taken if all your other ducks are in a row. If your situation is frequently "I'm not sure how much hate is going to be directed my way, and I can't be sure I'll be with a competent tank most of the time" then that 1% healing increase pales in comparison to knock back and threat reduction. All this is IMHO and from a PvE-only perspective.
  4. Please, everyone, it took me over a few minutes to write my post. Please keep it on topic. This thread is NOT about the patch itself; nor is it about ANY nerfs therein. It is about why BW is ignoring so many responses to the patch, and is a formal question to BW in hope of illiciting a response (but we all know how likely that is).
  5. I find that compared to most posters, I have a relatively "moderate" view on the nerfs. I also feel that everything constructive on the issue of nerfs that can be said has been said. What bothers me now is the utter lack of any response what-so-ever from BW in the this thread. I have some theories on that. (Spoiler tags added to reduce "Wall of Text Syndrome") Theory A: Theory B: I find myself hoping it is theory A. Ignoring a 3k reply thread is borderline insulting. However, as I said, I am more moderate about this whole issue and am trying to remain rage-free (please excuse my use of the word rage. It may be too harsh, and I'm not stating that anyone who doesn't agree with the nerfs is raging. Remember, this post isn't about the validity of the patch itself, but rather the possible reason BW could ignore so much feedback) until the patch actually goes live. Now of course I'm no more infallible than the next person, so I'm not above admitting that because I don't have the full picture there could be all kinds of variables which create reasons for BW's silence that my theories don't cover (of course). It could also be any combination of any theory. What are your thoughts fellow forum-goers? Also, if possible, due to the large questioning of BW's attention and care levels in terms of player/forum feedback on issues larger than in-game mounts and the shaking of my faith in BW this behavior (or lack thereof really) is causing for me, could I please get some BW feedback on Why you have chosen to ignore a thread which has ammassed 3,000 replies? Disclaimers:
  6. Gear is a bit wonky for us at end-game. We lose a ton of surge and gain far more alacrity than we will ever need. This can be remedied to an extent by stacking Power/Surge enhancements. This isn't really necessary until Tier 1.3 (Rakata), so just monitor your stat levels until then. Keep them close to this: Crit - 300 (most important) Surge - 300 (VERY close second) Alacrity - 300-350 (least important) You most likely won't be able to keep them all in the golden range until the end without wasting serious time, so just level it out as necessary. Leveling out your lacking stat will take precedence over stat importance. It will require some mod swapping throughout gear upgrades. (Ex: If you have 370 Alacrity and only 130 Surge, swap some Alacrity mods for Surge ones.) The more Power and WP you have the better off you are obviously. As long as those aren't severely lacking I wouldn't even focus on them. They should stack up naturally. (Side note: Don't worry if your Power seems a bit low. This is also affected by WP and Force Power. As long as your Bonus Healing is acceptable you're fine.) Like the above poster said, don't be afraid to window-shop the Stalker gear. Their belt is better than ours (we trade 26 Crit for 18 WP, which seems better to me in the end) at the Rakata level. If you can spare the Columi or Tionese tokens, shop the other classe's gear vendors for Power/Surge, or otherwise better, item modifications. The Columi Enforcer Gloves' Power/Surge is a key example. Also, keep your Columi gear around even after you replace it with Rakata; you may want some of those mods later on. For instance, you may want that Columi Force-Mystic Gloves' Crit/Surge enhancement back down the road. Also an interesting aside: Certain Orange belts/bracers (which have Armoring and Mod slots), when altered with HM Ops/Daily mods, are better than all but Rakata crafted belts/bracers with augment slots. For more on that check Dulfy's site. (dulfy.net) --Edited to give gear sources.--
  7. In the future bubble the tank prior to starting the conversation with the mob. If you blaze through the conversation and pick the attack option it should still be up. I have done this every time and have not once had anyone die. Helps when you have competent group mates though. That's always a plus.
  8. ^^^^^USE THIS! Dulfy's is by far the best I have found. Got me to 50. Got me geared. And I still use the Ops videos. Excellent site.
  9. I absolutely adore the cinematics. They are outstanding! I'd love to see more. I would have to say my favorite is Return.
  10. I'm not annoyed anywhere near enough by the bugs to cancel my sub, be they tertiary or frontline, but I will grant that they are very annoying. There are workarounds; there are altered strategies. Personally I am pretty partial to the bugs. I think they give the game character. I find that most of them (I said most, not all) don't actually prevent a fight from being won, but just make it a bit harder. In those cases I'll be able to look back and say "You beat it? Ya, well, I beat it BEFORE the fix". Don't get me wrong. I still wish they weren't there. However (some would say I'm misguided in this), BW still has my faith that they will fix their game's issues. Let's not forget that this game is less than 3 months from official release, and let's also not forget that EA has this kind of track record, frequently letting (maybe even pushing?) games out before they are really ready to hit the shelves. Knowing that, I still saw everyone clamoring "OMG! Release the game already!!!11!". And don't point to the BETA. It's great for server stress testing and all, but in no way will a BETA, no matter how big, be able to truly compare to actual release. All problems will not be caught and fixed. That being said, I think BW has picked the wrong strategy in terms of how they address issues. One large patch with well orchestrated, well tested, and well implemented fixes is FAR superior to a plethora of small patches that do nothing more than mask a problem at best, and at worst cause more. All-in-all, I just wish people would chill the heck out. If it bothers you as much as OP then do what he did. Un-sub. If you can stand it then stand it. Roll an alt or fare the stormy seas of raiding. The game will get better. The game will get bigger. The bugs will get fixed. Report the bugs and move on. I'm tired of seeing so many whiny posts.
  11. Can someone explain why this is? I'm not near end-game, but if this is true I may consider switching. Just want it explained. For now I went Synth / Arch / UT. Im liking it so far, but it doesn't make any money at all. At least, not that I've noticed. But then my server isn't really using the GTN yet.
  12. This. So much this. I neglected him until level 24 and started to really feel it. Once you gear him up everything will be fine again. I suggest looking into that if you feel he's failing you. I would assume this is true whether level 35 or 25.
  13. I'm bootcamping the game right now, and I just want to say that I am not happy having to use a clunky OS again. Its frustrating to say the least, but dear God am I happy that Bootcamp exists. Here's to supporting an OSX port, but remembering we're lucky we get to play at all.
  14. Thank you for the info Nareese. Still open to any more if anyone has any.
