  1. The fully instanced chapter presentation (single player game in an MMO engine) needed to go. And I've never been shy about my disdain for all my characters being railroaded into the Outlander. But I've really enjoyed the lore around Zakuul and Iokath and didn't mind the new enemy and threat per se. And the dialog and such was really good in KOTXX. The cinematics that were "off screen" were overdone though, but that's minor. I guess we'll see but I hope there are some big explorable areas that elaborate on the lore for these new worlds.
  2. Honestly if you are getting gear from Galactic Command just use what they give you. You technically only need 5% extra accuracy for anything solo ("stalker" boots and hands have accuracy, and some ear or implants). The mix of alacrity and critical should be balanced enough for your content. If you want to augment i would just maintain a balance between alacrity and crit. If you think you'll do any group stuff get accuracy close or slightly over 110% of course. I do this with 3 or 4 augments, depending if you are tier 230 to 242. Relics can depend. The long fight sustained ones are focused retribution and serendipitous assault. But a clicky one could be good for solo stuff too. Edit: if you're asking about gear while leveling just anything that doesn't have "tank" stats like defense, shield, absorb. And use a focus in the offhand.
  3. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9339708#post9339708 A lot of what you speculate was posted by Charles a couple months ago.
  4. Aesthetics should be locked behind one-time sub rewards. Content should not.
  5. SWTOR is changed and I don't see how it can go back. The beauty of the game up to 4.0 was that I could imagine all my characters co-existing. When one character took down Malgus or the Dread Masters or Revan I could head cannon my alts were part of the group. Now? I can't head cannon that all my characters co-exist as alliance commander and return to supporting a larger conflict. Adding little dialog differences does nothing for me if I have to assume my alts are effectively dead.
  6. No. And it's not even a resources issue. They railroaded everyone into being the Jedi Kn...er Outlander. They'd have to go back in time and create a parallel story path and that won't happen.
  7. Folks are just trying to push the D/L global toggle their way for the CXP reward bonus. I mean I got attacked, defended myself, but because I have this D/L toggle set to dark I'm contributing to the dark side of the force and gain dark side points? Just a dumb game mechanic.
  8. Did you try to reset first, then abandon? Anyway I have no problem with it being abandoned since it's a gold side quest. That said I don't see groups forming for this either anymore. The reason is one of 2: a) Jedi Covenant is dead when I'm on, b) it's not necessary for gear progression due to the way they designed gear progression (GC etc) and folks would rather run the group finder of the day for extra rewards. Check on the day it's in the GF.
  9. I want Valkorian and his family to be operations bosses. It's so immersion breaking that my trooper solo'd some of the most power force users ever, either by himself or with a little trinket.
  10. Forget spouses, I want more quests like A Little R and R. not only for the hookup, but the tough moral decision that comes later.
  11. Maybe your characters should get off their lazy quicktravel/speeder butts and run to their objectives for a while.
  12. Getting into an operation. Everything else happens when I do not get into an operation.
  13. Unfortunately there is not. But, only 4 abilities come and go so if you keep all the others in the same keybind slot it won't be much of a change. Edit: 5 abilities but double strike/clairvoyant strike are kinda the same.
  14. I personally would not like Bioware to expend its limited resources to create a mechanism to change AC. Let's move forward. Roll an alt.
  15. Umbara has been out like 2 weeks? I would assume it was easier to implement on one new flashpoint, and try it out for a bit, than implement across the board and risk screwing things up. If they feel the gear requirement is successful, I'd expect a broader implementation to happen. Just not in 2 weeks.
  16. Boost the CXP gain to 2000 and give people a reason to group and do these heroics.
  17. I don't know what led to its commercial success, since I was born in 1978. But to say the force was a small part??? - Discussions between Obi Wan and Luke on Tat, references to the dark side - Jedi mind trick on the stormtroopers - The whole training aspect on the Falcon - Obi Wan on the Death Star (tricking stormtroopers and fading into the force for sake) - Obi Wan using the force to speak to Luke during the attacks on the Death Star - "The force is strong with this one" -- Vader - "The force will be with you, always" -- ObiWan - Others? The force is like in the whole movie and the only reason the rebels won (every non force user missed the exhaust vent). The lightsaber fights were weak sauce though. Yes the Sith have been elaborated on since then, but they can only build so much back story in one movie. Edit: so I agree Star Wars is about the force (light vs. dark) and by inference Jedi vs. Sith.
  18. From the 4.0 patch notes (I don't think they've changed this since). "To ensure that Critical Hit Chance is never a wasted stat, any abilities that automatically critically hit now convert any Critical Hit beyond 100% into additional critical damage." Would this apply to set bonus auto-crit maul? Does this apply when force potency puts your crit above 100%? Does either outweigh the guaranteed damage boost to all other attacks using an attack adrenal? All good questions.
  19. If referring to credits, I hope this is optional. I keep most of my credits on my alt that runs my legacy's hotel and casino on Nar Shaddaa (so I don't accidentally buy something stupid).
  20. Maybe 200k? I think it was the Canderous Ordo set in early 2014. Haven't bought anything since.
  21. All I know is that after 8 months (I returned when they announced the new Operation) I finally have my main to 300 with one alt at about 220. I am primarily an operations (HM/NiM) player, which has long given the best CXP. And even that wasn't sufficient for someone with my casual schedule to reach 300. This past week I was able to run some classic dailies in my limited downtime and actually progress, instead of just logging off since no other content was worth running once it lost it's "new content" luster. I still think Galactic Command should not drop BiS gear though, but be a good alternative option to catching up/gearing alts. Cap at the tier below what is dropped from the top Operations content (would be 242 now). That would of course require bringing back PVP-specific gear as well.
  22. Yeah it was good times. Too bad for me this was a holiday weekend and I was outside or otherwise committed and couldn't fully capitalize. Hope they can't implement a fix until like 5.5...
  23. Abandoned idea? I doubt they had anything beside "we need to introduce a grind due to no end game content."
  24. Devs, give soloers a clicky to skip the Ops and watch a cut scene. I dont care. But please do not wreck the one powerful enemy in this game by allowing a scoundrel with his wookie and a jesus droid to defeat 6 of the most powerful Sith Lords ever. Malgus and Revan suffer enough for all the villains.
  25. You delivered Yavin stronghold during SOR, since you had assets to easily use, but there was no real story associated with its take over and it came very far after SOR was introduced. But it was at least tied to an active area for dailies and the entrance to an operation. Manaan was tossed in due to popular demand. I have no interest in going there since there is no active (and very little overall in the game) story in Manaan. The Umbara train has potential, assuming I head cannon stealing another or something. But I fear we will not spend any more time on Umbara to justify actually establishing a stronghold there. Not just for some crystals. Iokath would be cool, assuming the story returns and includes a significant stay. Or wait until wherever the story goes next. Add a side quest with a complex, repeatable, but solo-able boss (even though I'm an operations guy) then we can "move in" (after killing him a few times).
