  1. Was thinking the same thing recently.
  2. The chapter (due to being content, not aesthetics) should now be available to everybody, or to nobody (i.e. removed from the game entirely). Much like the Chevin event, or original Rakghoul event, apparently one-time events that cannot be replayed just because you happen to have been around when they were available.
  3. Seems to be fine to me. Anyway, Bioware should not be looking at numbers in leaderboards. The only thing they should consider is if a player has found a better rotation than designed that would affect their internal calculations. This happened back with skill trees where certain hybrids would outperform (I'm even thinking of shadow tank hybrids taking AOE damage reduction for Brontes). Folks rolling in place on dummies, or doing massive AOE on Cartel Warlords, or standing in stupid to boost their DPS because their overgeared skilled healers need something to do shouldn't be taken under consideration.
  4. Bump, because I was just thinking about this, used the search function first, and didn't want to start a new thread.
  5. I thought about doing this too but when the time came it's still the *Sith* Empire. Sure Acina was "the enemy of my enemy" for a while, but she's Sith. Lana the same, she's long been the enemy of my enemy but I'll drop her the second I see Sith stuff coming back (i.e. the writers let me) and we don't share a common enemy. Corruption happens but it's no reason to abandon principles. I just head cannon I'll work harder to weed out corruption when I can.
  6. I don't think anyone has forgotten about all the randoms with like 8% Ops achievements running around with 198 set bonus chest pieces and 16M HM Coratanni cheevos. And agree 2.0 was the peak. 3.0 could have been even better had they not thrown in the towel on MMO content in favor of single-player instances in an MMO engine on a subscription model.
  7. As a current player a $5M cinematic is not worth it. That's 20-30 good FTEs for a year or more that could be putting out content if the budget went from marketing to development. KOTFE did rake in some new subs, albeit short term. And one would have to put some ROI on the trailer (vs. just movie excitement). But MMOs should be about player retention not short term cash grabs so it probably didn't work out long term (hence the reversal in game design).
  8. Starting Iokath on my Gunslinger (skipped KOTFE/KOTET). I can never take it back either.
  9. I'll reserve judgement until I see Episode VIII. If VIII ends up with Rey getting her hand cut off by Ren, while he tries to recruit her into the order to defeat Snope because they're cousins, I'll probably assume IX will be just as unoriginal with a return to destroy the death planet again.
  10. Until Bioware can put out enough content to keep a healthy playerbase, asking for new playable species is asking for them to waste resources.
  11. Regarding the white crystals, that was 5 years and multiple creative directors ago. Kind of like a politician changing his position on a policy after a couple decades. I spent all my credits back then on a couple purple crystals that I can now get with 10 minutes of eternal championship. No big deal. I think it's too soon to call maintenance mode. KOTFE/KOTET, while it killed the game, was a good amount of content (just bad content due to the gameplay). If they decided to make a major design change spring/summer 2016 back to a 2.0/3.0 type expansion it takes time since they needed to wrap up the solo chapter crap that was started. If you're still playing, keep playing. If not unsub until you hear of a 6.0 expansion that interests you. With the operation population continuing to tank I will probably just unsub again (came back in Feb after leaving when 4.0 dropped) and hope if a 6.0 is announced some population is revived.
  12. And then there are people asking for legacy wallet for credits. I put the over/under at 5 minutes into that patch there will be a post about someone that accidentally bought 50mil worth of something stupid because they thought their credits were on an alt (where I keep most of mine).
  13. One of the tabs in "preferences" does allow you to stop some of the warnings. I'm not sure if the one you reference is an option though. Whichever tab, the options are on the top so look around.
  14. Ok fair point. If they adapt to dead folks, then Theron should adapt as well I didn't know this thanks. Guessing that one texture has a story flag associated.
  15. Having Theron staying around as a companion is one thing. Complaining about the alliance base, which as it currently stands is a snapshot in time pre-Iokath, is just stupid. It's like going back to Tython after SOR and complaining it all looks great. This isn't a single-player game.
  16. I have 11 characters so I have done the 8 class stories a total of 11 times. I have probably run each operation, across multiple difficulties, a couple hundred times each. The major problem with continued "class" story is that it would be one time like Rishi. I have done each of those quests once. That is not very good development bang for the buck in my opinion. We're the outlander. They will never go back to 8 class stories. The best we'll get is a brief reference to our original identity like in KOTET 9 (I think). But I agree they do need a compelling story arc in an expansion to bring back that group, and significant group content to keep an active community between the story expansions. And some server merges. On JC last night < 80 folks one instance, only chatter was gold sellers, and only 7 operation instances between both factions. On Harb there were two fleet instances, many operations going on, and chatter (albeit juvenile). JC is dead and needs to be merged somewhere.
  17. The Scum and Villany operation is set there-Darvannis, so that was some recycled assets. But agree so much potential for replayable content areas like Zakuul, anthem, nathema, other parts of Iokath (from early Ch 4), etc.
  18. I transferred a character last night since JC feels dead. Can anyone advise on global chat channels on Imp side that may be used to fill spots for HM/Vet operations? Looking to get my feet wet and meet some folks before looking for a NiM or GoTM progression group.
  19. I don't think this will bring players back (but going back to the PVP comms while is fine, with PVP specific gear). Bioware couldn't keep players with solo-only gameplay, so focusing effort on the leveling process seems a waste. To bring players back they need a full expansion with explorable areas, daily activities once the main story is complete, branching off or main story connected flashpoints and FULL operations, maybe a nice stronghold tied to the new region with a reputation vendor selling locale specific decor (supplemented by cartel stuff), maybe a PVP map recycling old game modes in the new environment, and follow up content delivery at a 2.X pace.
  20. The premise is that the game feels dead which is discouraging to current, returning, and new players that want to do group content.
