  1. What I feared. So rng on the belt/bracers to get to 6 piece set bonus.
  2. I couldn't find a post on this. Ten bosses and 12 pieces of gear. Are two bosses dropping two items, or are they doing the rng thing like when DF/DP went live where the first bosses can drop one of two things randomly? This tier with 6 piece set bonus and only "A" and "B" mods on comm gear belts/bracers are actually worth something and not just "spend comms to get them." Note: Dulfy's guide didn't make it clear.
  3. You had to do this when 2.0 dropped. Crafted initiative enhancement 28s had 66 accuracy so it required 7 pieces to hit 100/110% even with the 3% from the skill tree. 3.0 seems consistent with entry level gear in previous tiers, just maybe needing one accuracy augment now.
  4. Accuracy doesn't seem too far off to me. At 2.0 entry level crafted advanced initiative 28 enhancements had 66 accuracy so you needed 440 / 66 = 6.7 or 7 pieces with accuracy to exceed 100/110%. In 3.0 each 186 crafted advanced initiative enhancement 36 has 102 accuracy so you need 7 pieces and maybe one augment to exceed 100/110%. I think people were just used to being at the top of the gear in the 2.X tier which always starts to trade accuracy for surge. Now we're starting over. Clearly this wasn't obvious in the 3.0 patch notes, but doesn't seem totally broken to me.
  5. I was short on level too, but didn't run any CM xp boost since I've always out leveled content on my first run since I do everything in my way. Not a big deal but it was a weird feeling having to grind dailies to hit 60 and start lvl 60 content.
  6. I probably wouldn't use 12xp if it were to be offered. I only level characters when I have no end game to do, so by the time that happens I'll probably be interested in seeing the planet stories again too. And with guild bonus, rested bonus, and just the free xp bonus consumables I can level on non-2xp weekends with only class story and planet story forgoing all side quests and heroics.
  7. Most of this is not true. Damage reduction for a shadow tank is based on three things: 1) armor rating, 2) set bonus, and 3) shadow protection. Once could keep the same damage reduction and lower health by swapping resolve armorings for force wielder armorings. Health and damage reduction are not related directly. You could take a force wielder 31 armoring, trade in a resolve 32 armoring, and gain damage reduction while lowering health. Your 3rd point is referring to mitigation, which is directly related to health. To the OP your friend either had better armorings and may have used some resolve vs. force wielder, had a set bonus you didn't, or a combination and also had lower health contribution from his/her mods/enhancements/augments. Now chill out, there's a good community here so don't be an *****.
  8. I always found the issue of multiple color crystals being annoying. I wante to make red lvl 50 power crystals and had to deal with hours of rng before I got enough reds. And they just fixed bio analysis. There were 4 mats last tier and I think I have like 15 stacks of viral extract or something since it's so underused compared to the others. That was rng too. Current tier looks good so hopefully they bring arch into balance.
  9. Shadow tank feels as good as ever. I definitely like the animation on the new ability that replaces telekinetic throw!
  10. Fortunately I didn't have any trouble. I've only gone in once for solo mode though. Shadow tank with Nadia, so we were both stacked in middle. I split damage to kill them at about the same time, but don't remember any other details.
  11. I'm just now looking into the changes and while there's potential with this system, the "variety" isn't there for me and my shadow. PVP variety in utilities, but not really PVE. I was hoping on the dps side there would be hard choices between armor increase, aoe damage reduction increase, AOE damage reduction increase, stunned damage reduction increase based on the boss fight. Instead they kept the DOT damage reduction in the balance discipline, AOE damage reduction with infiltration, and there isn't much else in utilities to take besides both armor increase and stunned damage reduction increase as dps utilities. So it's just as before with the choice between disciplines if one has to consider the damage reduction portion as important as the damage part in particular fights. I was hoping I could run balance with AOE damage reduction when the fight called for it, but I guess not.
  12. Look at your character sheet and your shield chance should go up by 15% when you activate it. Then when you shield something you should get a stack of Kinetic Bulwark which in turn increases your absorb by 1% per stack. Whether the character sheet translates into actual improved mitigation would require looking at a lot of parses to show statistically you have 15% higher shield chance, and that the absorb increase actually further reduces shielded damage. Edit: After re-reading your post, if you're being attacked frequently and not shielding anything (thereby consuming stacks of kinetic ward), I'd have to guess you don't have a shield equipped.
  13. I've gone back to server select screen, and it fixes that issue. Full log out fixes it too.
  14. So if you decide to quit a game because you can't easily/cheaply make your character look like Revan reborn, you'll go play that other game that lets you easily/cheaply look like Revan reborn?
  15. After reading this thread, Eric's info seems correct, just leaving out that 172 mods can be bought with comms. "Incomplete info" would be a better subject than "bad info" imo.
  16. Was just going to make this point too. The example of resurgence, which was never paid for since it was granted when choosing it in the healing tree, is now baseline even for damage disciplines and has to be trained. This seems appropriate to me, but I haven't logged in yet.
  17. How many characters were then banned due to being credit spammers??? I definitely contributed 2 to the "not making it to ship before being deleted" category.
  18. I think the current raids are perfect, Five bosses rah DF and DP and take exactly the amount of time you note. I'm guessing and hoping the two new ones in 3.0 are about the same. This is also a reason I didn't even give Wildstar a chance after one month. Their first raid (while also too big for my taste at 20 man) was also a 5 hour clear by te top guilds in the world after having farmed for months. You had to dedicate 20+ hrs a week for any progression simply because it took 5 hrs to get to the final boss with perfect play. DF and DP were perfect for me, I hope the next pair is the same.
  19. I hope Bioware doesn't remove operations. Sometimes I log in these days, realize I only have 30 min to play, and just log out because it isn't enough time to run an Op and nothing else interests me. This will change at 3.0 when I'll resume all the activities that support Operations like reaugmenting gear (dailies, mat farming, crafting). But without the end goal of the operation, those activities would be moot. Then I'd quit the game after seeing the story, so hopefully it remains in the developer's interest to keep making operation content.
  20. When I read these changes I keep in mind Bioware wants to maintain balance across all classes. So the loss of healing and damage bonus doesn't bother me from a balance standpoint, but it does take away a small skill component managing upper hand. Therein lies my concern.
  21. We've always just focused on "play how you want" and hopefully make the top 10. Planned to push this week for a win, and got blown away by Thursday. Oh well. I thought they should have brackets based on guild size. Kind of like how they supposedly bracket matchmaker for PVP based on rating. E.g. < 50, 50-200, 200+ or something. Could negatively impact recruiting though if a competitive guild hits 200 though so probably won't happen.
  22. I got the Logitec G600 this past spring. Felt better to me than the Razor. Actually got it when I was trying out Wildstar, but it's changed my gaming here by a lot. Not sure if you can still get the 600 with the 700 out (I got mine at a nice discount during transition). Can't totally tell how many buttons you get with the Mad Catz, but definitely go with a 12 button plus shift/ctrl/alt option vs. a 6 button since there are a lot of abilities in this game. I still use W, A, S, D for movement (S & D now straffe) and also keybind Q, E, R, T etc. to some cooldowns and use the mouse for rotation type abilities. G600 is a great mouse for that in my 6 months experience.
  23. Offense intended, but how big of a loser do you have to be to quit a game because the developers perform an across the board reduction on damage and healing output due to long term content planning? If they screw up balance point it out and they'll fix it. Otherwise, I don't get why it's an issue worth rage quitting over.
  24. The one mistake I see a lot of people make is restarting DPS too late after each laser phase. His shield falls off a few seconds before the visual on the laser ends so everyone can throw a few hits in from range. Even mele and those on add duty should have a few options or at least get dots started.
