  1. No pointless drops in operations? Tell that to the two non-set chestpieces from Karagga gathering dust in my bank...
  2. Just wanted to quote some numbers from the time tables and recalculate and found you are right. According to my time zone and their numbers, the real stuff should start in 10 minutes, lol. My bad.
  3. I can see Ilum full with ship droid companions out for affection farming...
  4. As long as they leave the Pyrotech tree alone...
  5. Am I the only one who now thinks the live stream just isn't going to get live but will contain a delayed edited version of the summit? Or Has there been some info on why is there even more delay, and I just missed it?
  6. But since most likely Imperials will get to shoot Gungans while Republic has to help them... it would skew populations even further towards Imps.
  7. Or: Seperate the system messages into their own channel for each type. There are so many useless messages in the "System" channel, mixed in with really useful stuff, that so far you can either have all the spam or not even the real information. For example, a companion coming back from a mission often produces a full chat page of messages, including the phrase they speak, the success message, crew skill point gain, item gain etc. Or, if you're in a custom channel, like the popular player-made LFG channels, every single time someone using that channels logs on or off you get a message, which during prime time means that half your chat messages are just "user x has joined the channel", "user y has left the channel" spam. I don't even care about when each single user in that channel logs on or off.
  8. Ok, so you are going to remove some vehicles from the game and put up a last chance offer, do I get that right? And what is the reasoning behind removing them at all? I mean, it feels completely arbitrary. But then... I appreciate the effort in writing in-character stories and rumours and all that, but for matters like these such vague information is not enough. We need a definitive statement: Will the white crystals be craftable in 1.2 (or later), or not? And more vague statements like "they might become craftable at a later point" are not sufficient as an answer. 1 million or even 2.5 million, despite all the claims of how easy it is to get money in the game, quite a hefty sum, and we want to know whether we have to invest this in order not to miss our one and only chance, or whether this is only needed in order to have them now instead of waiting until 1.2 arrives and crafters start producing these things.
  9. In before "Vista SUCKS!!!1" flames, heh. On topic: As far as I am aware, it should, Win7 is generally considered faster than Vista.
  10. What people are mainly criticising is the fact that these changes do not give us enough options - anything not crit-crafted (which includes drops, quest rewards etc) will be , though fully moddable, inferior to crit-crafted orange stuff. It's like they open up all these options just to take away half of them again that very instant.
  11. Yeah and we'll see real PTS patch notes maybe two weeks before the patch goes live, and it will have some major issues (bugs and design flaws) that will be pointed out but will not be corrected in that time, and maybe some of them will be fixed a couple of smaller patches later. Just look at the cooldown display dilemma - they fiddled with it twice despite no player requesting a change from the original status quo in the first place, until they eventually acknowledged the issue and brought us options to choose from, weeks later. A good example are the legacy features. We have only a few clues, mostly guesswork, of what it might give, but most of it will come as a surprise once it is fully revealed on the PTS. I am convinced there will be at least one elephant-in-the-room style major design flaw with them, but it will go live anyway because there won't be enough time to fix it by then...
  12. The problem is not the effort. The problem will be a) The absurd prices these critted crafted orange items will be paid for (1million+) because raider and generally min-maxers want them for their BiS equipment, and in that regard BiS trumps everything. b) Existing purple and orange items from quest rewards, fp/op drops, vendors etc will be obsolete for anyone trying to get BiS gear, nullifying like half of the visual appearance choices available, which brings us back to square one - the need to equip only certain specific items instead of the ones we prefer the look most of.
  13. I suppose the idea is that most common folks will just wear non-critted orange or purple stuff from all various sources, and only a few min-maxer will be able to put down 1million+ for a single critted orange item, which I fully expect to be the common price as soon as enough people have found out these are the absolutely only way to get BiS.
  14. Even if #1 is true (never recognized so), the weapon image would be so tiny that the icon is just as good as info on how it looks... And regarding #2 I think the OP was pretty clear that he is talking about all "offhand only" weapons and of course not referring to shield generators etc.
  15. The OP greatly underestimates the value of DoTs in PvP, particularly Voidstar and Civil War...
  16. You don't need to be pulled into their base. In a typical zerg vs zerg standoff, being pulled into the enemy zerg is almost certain death.
  17. Well here's hoping that with the 1.2 crafting changes come craftable orange belts and bracers...
  18. I am not that naive, heh. I was just stating that it would/will be stupid, and the forum outrage would/will be huge (and righteous).
  19. It's even worse than that. Imagine someone who wants to make one of the new species/class combinations as their main character, but cannot, of course, and then makes, let's say, a human smuggler. They will now be 50, possibly Columi-geared, maybe have already raided a bit. Then, *poof*, enter 1.2 and legacy rewards, and their favourite class/species combination becomes available - only for new characters. They would have to reroll their MAIN CHARACTER. If that's Bioware will do it might be the most epic facepalm these forums have yet to experience...
  20. Power Shot and Sweeping Blasters do ignore the color crystal though,as does Rail Shot. I also want to see my color of choice on every blaster attack!
  21. Some classes have AoE attacks that do not need a target. Shadows and Assassins have a whirling attack that does not require a target, Commandos and Mercenaries have a channeled attack where they spread their shots over an area (GTAOE), which can also be used even out of combat.
  22. With the upcoming crafting changes, one big question lurking in many people's minds is whether we will be able to attach Augment slots to existing items in order to make orange items from drops or quest rewards equal in quality to the crit-crafted ones, and whether indeed purple items like set pieces effectively are like orange items in every regard.
  23. Wow, that's a cool one, maybe I should get one of those for Mako at least.
  24. What are your favourite pistols - be it by their looks, sound, background story, anything? My personal favourite: M-500 Elite Stealth Enforcer As soon as I saw these on the Taris commendation vendor I knew I needed to get two of these babies, then replaced the tank mods with DPS pieces and have never used any other gune. The design fits particularly well with blue color crystals, which give them a nice W40k-plasma-gun style touch, and the color scheme is similar to the Ciridium War armor from Corellia/class quests I am wearing.
  25. Let's just order annoying companion trash talk when sent on missions by ascending annoyingness: Droid Skadge ... (long time nothing) ... Ugnaught + Gamorrean Conclusion: I am so anti-Skadge that I would even prefer having a second babbling droid instead of that scumbag. However as I only send him on missions, I still prefer him ranting about how boring it all is than the grunting of a swine. Just... no.
