  1. Yes but your stats would not be equal. A level 10 orange chest piece may have 100 armor for base stats, no mods. A level 40 orange chest piece may have 350 armor, no mods. Your missing out on 200 armor which can make or break you at higher levels, especially some of the final class quest bosses (see Jedi Knights). Also, end game gear that is tiered, or pvp related is not orange, and significantly outdoes any orange item in the game currently. Orange items don't stack up in the long run and are not a long term customization solution. They should implement a system identical to LOTRO.
  2. I think this requires a suggestion box post. We, the people of the Republic, demand to be treated equally. By comparison to the Empire, we are not only the under-dogs, we are gimped in more ways than you can imagine. Class Story: Everyone knows that this is more opinion based and subjective, but the Sith Empire has a more well thought out set of class stories than the Republic. Maybe its the tone described for both sides, but the Sith side has more polish, less plot holes, and deeper romances. Mirrored Classes: Classes are supposed to be identical in every way. Every ability every talent everything is meant to be alike, only the difference in animations and over-all concept of the characters are intended to be different. This is untrue, all the classes are imbalanced, and favor the Empire on all fronts. For more on this see: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=101553 Apparel and end game Tiers: For those of you not at higher levels, the general armor and over-all look of the Sith is extremely well done, as if a painter took their time to craft almost all the armor. The Republic side is very bland, awash many redone armor sets and color variations. The Tiered armor (see Jedi Knight's Battlemaster/Samurai Gear) is in significant favor of the Empire. Kira Carsen wasn't joking when she said all the Fashion Designers moved to the Empire. Fleets: Log in to the Republic fleet. Take a look around. What do you see? Now log into the Imperial Fleet, take a look around, what do you see? The Republic side is mostly dead, and on the edges around the Carrack station where people such as the Dark side and Light side trainer, or the commendation vendors sit, there are large glaring black fences making only one door available to enter. Now look at the Imperial side, these large fences don't exist. The Imperial side is beautifully lit with the white lighting, the main area of the fleet has a constant set of moving objects with a large Imperial Logo showcasing all around. Not only that, but beautiful holo-trees line several areas of the place, and beautiful well polished steel hangs from the walls. The Republic fleet looks like it was built by Sand People with an creativity score of 1. Media and Developer Coverage: Anyone who has stayed with this game from 2008 has read that almost all the major developers of this game, decided to play as Sith. If we take a further look at the different videos and other released info, not only do the majority of cinematic trailers and other videos seem to favor and showcase more of the Sith, but the people themselves in response to videos complain that the Empire 'appears' like the more enjoyable faction. Leveling and Experience: I cannot confirm this one although I have heard many rumors that the leveling process and over-all experience gain on the Empire Side is in fact more. I have played a sith warrior and Jedi knight to level 50 and am working on other alts, but I haven't looked at the over-all gain per enemy of a certain level, or per quest. This is a possibility but I do not know for sure. In Conclusion: It seems to me like all the Developers woke up one day after watching Vader go youngling hunting and decided that the Empire was the way to go. Not only did they outright say they would be playing Sith, but the proof is in the pudding as they say. The Media overhyped the Empire and the cinematics show favor to them. The art director for the Republic side fell asleep where as the guy who worked for the Imperials seemed to have nothing better to do then design kick-*** armor and weapons and fleets and planets etc. The over-all story and experience on the Empire is better, and the classes are not on equal footing which is a unacceptable situation for any MMORPG developer. Story is important, but mirrored classes that entirely favor one Faction? It seems like a sad joke. Give the Republic some love. You do remember that half of your game revolves around that faction... right?
  3. Yeah this is a glaring issue for me. I roll republic, we suck. Our armor is less cool, our republic fleet is significantly less interesting. All of our side has less polish, our stories are less interesting, and our entire class and chance in pvp is so gimped by comparison its not even funny sometimes. Its one thing when you give orcs to one side and humans to another and the orcs are overpowered with special abilities. Its another thing when you give the same virtual class to both sides, and make identical trees and abilities, and then mess up the number difference. Missing the 'animation' problem is a simple over-sight. But when two identical attacks do have different cds for no apparent reason? Thats just sloppy.
  4. This is known as Error 9000, it will eventually start booting you sometimes if it lags out too long. I experience the same issue, and if you check around others are too, but no fix in sight.
  5. I hate it as well, whats worse is not only does the stupid ticket system not work. Thank you automated bot telling my me problem is being looked at, never to be responded to... ever. But I am required to click a thousand times before getting back to the game. First I have to close the ticket, then say "yes I am closing the ticket" then when I close the ticket, I STILL have to unclick the window displaying previous tickets. I mean seriously its like some trolls got into Bioware and were like: "Hey you know what sounds like a great idea? Bind our useless ticket system to a key that you can't unbind it from, that is close to the enter button and backspace button, and requires multiple clicks to get out of."
  6. I disagree completely, I am level 50 on my jedi knight and ALL my companions do this with the exception of my T7-01 astromech droid, but the only reason for that is because he is smaller.
  7. You can't get through most operations or hard modes without know the above listed info, basic knowledge of moving out of aoe, buffing, and doing your particular job in a group is necessary. Anyone whos completed hardmodes or operations would not need this training. I think he is giving this training option for people who are bad at the game or new to mmos altogether.
  8. You can toggle it off. Later down the line they are saying that the legacy system will do more, so its probably worth it to just pick a crappy last name, and then just go into preferences and toggle it off but retain future rewards.
  9. I think they could easily take the elevator that leads to the CE vendor and give you an up or down option, down is a dueling arena, up is the vendor. Then you drop down into an area where dueling is allowed.
  10. If I could play this game all the time non-stop I probably would. But I know life comes first. I can't afford my rent, afford my internet connection, or afford my monthly sub if I don't go to work and let stuff get swept under the rug. I have neglected my need to eat sleep and poop however.
  11. I'm level 50 and have completed every flash point multiple times, as well as hard modes and heroic quests as well. I am only Social II. Your full of bantha fodder, there is no way you have a 29 and a 37 with Social 4 unless you were grinding flashpoints and group quests for the points the second you hit level 10. Don't make up B.S numbers to support your side when you are just making stuff up, it destroys competent conversation.
  12. If you successfully completed a mission, then you shouldn't be losing credits. Doing badly on a mission but still bringing in some money but a net decrease in credits is just the risk you take sending out people to go for credits. This doesn't make sense.
  13. Well lets see here. I get a ton of tython commendations, instead of spending them on lockboxes for money or gear, I just 2:1 them to Coruscant, then I 2:1 my coruscant commendations up tot he next level. Eventually I hit level 50, I go back and grind down all the really easy quests on every planet I didn't complete, 2:1 all my commendations till eventually I spend them all and have a ton of Corellian commendations, then spend all those. No, this is a bad idea. Spend your commendations on lockboxes for money if the gear is outdated, or use them to buy the gear and sell it for the creds.
  14. The point is solid. More races, more variety. But he is right, this thread was horribly thought out. The OP makes no really good points. Saying stuff like miraluka was a lazy idea, Miraluka was something put in due to the character Visas Marr from Kotor 2. That addition, although happens to fit with their 'lazyness' is a valid one. The OP takes the point of the conversation and strangles it with his childish logic. That doesn't mean his point isn't 'right' but instead, awfully presented. On the other hand, even amongst the available races they could of had more variety. They should of had different presets for every race, so that even just their faces had some variety so they were more distinguishable from other races. The problem isn't even so much how many different species they have, but more so that they implemented them all with the exact same options in hair, facial features, scars, etc with almost no difference other than in skin/hair color and the obvious changes from say... sith purebloods and twi'leks. I'd expect Humans, Cyborgs, and Miraluka to all share the same set of options for facial features etc. other than the masks/bionic implants. However, the other various races should have some different options because although they are sub-human species or near-human species, they should have some variations to make them more alien in nature. For example, many Twi'leks have longer faces, more narrow and jutting. They should of given a bit more of a 'look' to them to make them different. Even if it was say, 3-4 new sets of facial changes for each bracket. That variation alone would make enough difference to at least show-case the difference between species other than hair/lekku/skin/eye color.
  15. Thats a troll. Although I agree with you two, this OP is a troll, I too have and frequently experience Error 9000 along with many other people. Just type it into the search bar.
  16. I don't think the issue is as serious as you think, just a minor gripe. They have more important stuff to be working on at this time. However, I do agree. Loading screens galore in this game, and then the glitch after the patch that randomly pops up a loading screen? Lol they have to be trolling us.
  17. I think this should be in the suggestion box. But yeah, it seems they left a lot of... very minor, yet noticeable systems and other details out of the game that would be considered 'standard' by now. For example. /who does virtually nothing. Try typing /who (insert name) and see how it goes. But thats what happens when you rush a game out the door *cough* EA *cough*.
  18. Saying its not WoW is just a pointless remark, he is expressing a concern about constantly being knocked off his mount. I think this is a silly gripe, but an honest one. On that note, in most RPG's (I'm neglecting the mmo part for a reason) you have to fight enemies in order to level, and move along in the game. Its a simple part of the game, you face enemies, you get monetary experience that adds up over-time while you complete your quest. It is a basic component to any RPG since the days of pen and paper RPG's such and Dungeons and Dragons. To neglect it would be to undo the RPG part of MMORPG in the game. WoW is more like an MMO. The RPG part is extremely neglected. This game is trying to bridge the two since the genre has not done this very well even after 10 years. If thats not something your interested in, you may want to return to WoW. Or I suggest LOTRO as well.
  19. Fleets are cool, everything else is pretty awesome and travel is fine. But why does my ship have to dock on a massive space station above every single planet that has an access point for all the classes. Just to run past a bunch of un-important people? Sure, sometimes there is a character you talk to on the station, but they could of easily added them in on the actual planet. I used to think (well the planets can't house all the starships) but even Corellia for example has this. It just seems like they were trolling us. "So we heard you like loading screens? So we put a loading screen in the middle of the loading screen that takes you to the planet, just so you can jump in a shuttle to get another loading screen trololol."-Bioware. I mean, all the extra reasons to make a loading screen is... well unnecessary. Loading screens =/= more content, just annoying hassle. I could see them doing the space station thing one like 2-4 planets, just to mix it up a little. But practically every planet has one... cmon.
  20. You just aren't making a lot of sense. Your posts are partial gibberish or are not structured well. Is english not your natural language? Or are you under the age of 10? People aren't mad, I think they are mostly confused. So, you'd rather lose 2 grand a month to play this game is what your trying to say?
  21. I'm signed on for 6 months. Certainly am not blind to the many issues of this game. I play a Jedi Knight, considerably one of the most broken classes (and not in the 'omg I am so OP' way) but I still love it, and am in it for the long haul. Freaking love me some SWTOR.
  22. Seems to me like the taunt would be more useful and force push is good, however the 4% reduction of damage is pretty nice. Hard to say.
  23. Not sure if I signed this once already. But I just finished my set for this armor... and I want to shoot myself. I mean thank god there is a toggle helmet option, but seriously..... I feel like they got the idea from ronin warriors or something. Sure Jedi are supposed to be similar in style and culture to monks and samurai and the like. But this armor is just... lets just say I miss my big *** pauldrons from WoW that take up 90% of my character's body.
  24. Crazy talk is still bugged for me too. I have all my companions at 100% affection rating including doc, and he is the only one who's story I haven't been able to finish. Sad face because aside from Kira he's by far my favorite companion.
