  1. 45 on the Sith Juggernaught and I've been playing since Dec 20th. I love SWTOR but there are just so many good games that came out around Xmas that I still play. I've been playing Skyrim more often recently since mods are out that fix the UI, enhance the graphics, make Dragons actually challenging, etc. BF3 just came out with a patch that fixes a bunch of stuff. I'd like to finish up Arkham City at some point as well. And Mass Effect 3 comes out next month so I'll probably be sucked into that. I've been playing PC games a couple hours a day for half my life span. I can't remember a time were there were so many good games to play at the same time. It's awesome to be a PC gamer these days.
  2. This is a common misconception. Just because the CPU is at 50% doesn't mean that the problem lies elsewhere. The 50% is just a measurement of the amount of calculations on the CPU in relation to its capacity. However there is also the issue of the speed of those calculations and data transfer efficiency. Bottom line is AMD is currently garbage. And this is coming from someone whose last 2 PCs are AMD. A Phenom II's processing speed is the equivalent of Intel's budget I3. My friend has an I5 and he gets 50 FPS in PVP. I'm hoping that Bioware will figure out a way to tweak it and enhance performance.
  3. Edited... I have a GTX 570, and a 3 Ghz Phenom II overclocked to 3.5 Ghz. Install a "Cooler Master" CPU Fan and you can easily bump your CPU to 4 GHz. However I don't think you'll still get much better than 30 FPS in PVP, that's what I get. I highly recommend to try out your GTX 570 on Skyrim and Battlefield 3 as well. The card handles those games on max settings nicely.
  4. Definitely this. The GTX 570 is an awesome card, but the World PVP framerate issues are more beholden to CPU speed. If you don't have at least a solid 3.5 Ghz Phenom II, the framerate will lag on Ilum.
  5. Ha hah ha ha ha.....DDO?!?! Have a great time buddy!
  6. I agree with this. The Sith are trying to kill each other off all the time. The Sith Lords run around strangling every officer/troop that fails them. They all a) help their master kill rivals on the same side, then b) usurp and kill their master or c) die trying. I know they are evil but it's silly how self destructive they are. How the hell is there anyone left to actually fight the republic? How in God's name to they recruit people to fight for them? An officer is almost guaranteed to get offed by their own Sith Lord. The missions one that sticks out in my head is when my Sith Warrior had an option to either a) poison the water to kill the rebel slaves or b)use a different poison that slowly tortures them to death. You got light side points for the first option!
  7. I file it under "minor annoyance' myself. The cooldowns are a bit "too blue" and the flashing is a little bright. However I think I'm getting more used to it the more I play. The hissy fits that some have over it are over the top.
  8. No, that's not what I said. I didn't say all add-ons trivialize content. I said Add-On support leads to Add-ons that trivialize content.
  9. No they can't. That's the problem. If Bioware gives add-on support, they lose control of the player when it comes to gameplay. There is no way for them to allow this type of UI add on but disallow another type of UI add on. Its all or nothing.
  10. Are you freaking kidding me??? Are you telling me that something like "HealBot" doesn't make WoW healers twice as effective? Are you going to tell me that an endgame healer is going to do just fine without it?
  11. I can't argue with you that certain aspects of the UI needs work. And I'm not saying all Add-Ons are cheats. Any status support that Bioware could work in to the UI so I don't have to stare at the stupid bars all day I would fully support as well. The problem comes in to giving support to 3rd party Add-Ons to solve the issue, and how they create a severely unbalanced game. Everyone's efforts should be focused on petitioning Bioware to incorporate additional features into the game UI, rather than 3rd Party Add-On support.
  12. If Bioware goes forward with your request for 3rd Party Add-On support, it effects me and everyone else who plays this game because it is giving you a play advantage over everyone else that doesn't use them. You want to cheat, and are upset that Bioware doesn't support your cheating habits. I'm hoping they never do.
  13. Actually, they are eventually forced on players that want to compete and be successful. They are a slippery slope. For example in WOW Add-Ons were just simple tools to make life a little easier when WOW was first released. Then as time went by Aggro Meters, HealBot, Boss Add-Ons, and other stuff were developed and now they are cheats, plain and simple. Why should anyone know the exact point a NPC is going to attack you? Is telepathy a general skill that should be incorporated to every player in a MMO? Why should anyone be able to perform certain attacks/skills without even having to click the corresponding button command? It's now to the point that Blizzard has to make Raids harder because of the stupid Add-Ons!!! Add-Ons ruin MMOs, plain and simple.
  14. I'm not understanding the intensity of the debate on this. There should never be any Macro support. Bottom line is that those who utilize Macros have a play advantage over those that don't. People should not have to install any Add Ons/Macros in order to compete and succeed in a MMO. If Bioware wants to maintain a level playing field as much as possible, they'd be wise to never have macros.
  15. I'm assuming your a Juggernaught? If you want to tank the most important thing is staying alive. So just spec all your skills in Immortal, pick armor that concentrates in Endurance/Defense. You will be so tough that you don't need Quinn. Just pick a DPS companion like Jaesa or Vette to help you clear through mobs quicker. If you need stats for them, just buy them current level greens from the GTN, they're always cheap.
