  1. Bioware addressed the complaint from the begining where the only way to get pve gear was to do hm's. Back then you had to learn the mechanics to even get the gear. Now people whined because they thought that their gear was the reason they were failing and bioware gave players the ability to do dailys and weeklys to get the hm gear with coms. Bad players are still finding that they are failing and don't think to point the finger at them being bad at the game.
  2. I can't be positive on this but I think the rolls work on crit/normal/miss/defense. I faintly remember seeing a dev post on this back when the game launched. To explain: assume crit is 30%, acc is 100, and boss d chance is 10. Each attack has a roll of 1-100 to hit. Depending on the roll a 1-30 would be a crit, a 31-90would be normal, and an 91-100 would be a miss because the d chance takes away from base acc. That's why having an acc over 100% decreases the bosses resistance. If you had 105 acc and the boss had 10 d it would effectively make the boss have a d of 5%. That's not mathematically correct but its close enough that you get a picture of how it works. Shield and absorption works after a hit has landed. You roll for shield and if the number lands in the shield range then absorption decreases the attack by its percentage.
  3. efficiency just means that he does the missions faster. It has no bearing on the success percentage. Crit is same way, it doesn't affect success, it only increases the chance of crits when the mission returns sucessful. I don't know what the failure rate is, but I usually have 1 in 10-15 failed. That's about a 10% failure rate which seems about right. If you want to test make a note of the missions you send out and who then tally their failure rate over about 100 runs. If its more than ten you might have a problem. If you're noticing multiple fails you're just having bad rng luck. It happens but should even out in the long haul.
  4. That was the last one I did and it turned me off to all of them. Seriously, whoever designed that one should get a swift kick to the face.
  5. Don't forget about the extra 5% cunning from the inquisitor buff on top of the 9%. Since it also buffs crit rating and if you augment all 14 pieces with skill augs: 32x14= 448. 448+9% = 488. 488+5% =512. 512x.008= 4.09 extra crit depending on dm That's where you can take a little crit rating away and replace withy the stat you want. 512cunningx.20dmg = 102extra dmg 448power x .23dmg =103 extra dmg So the dmg is a wash but the added crit which frees up some points for use elsewhere is much better.
  6. The only time the content scales is when you are in a group in a non heroic instance. If this Is not the case then you are doing something wrong. Op, instead of whining, give us some more details. What class and spec are you playing? Are you interrupting everything? Have you tried your heroic moment and used the unity/sacrifice ability? How much hp does this guy have before you engage? Oh, and as to your last post. Whining is never justified.
  7. It's been a while since I did the staged quest but I believe you have to call the guy to move on to the second set.
  8. If they are auto binding to you without a timer and you are not using them it is a bug and you should report it in game and in the bug forums.
  9. In a perfect fight where all you do is dps, yes. But the value of auto proc relics fall the more that downtime exists. It really depends on the fight.
  10. So, every guild can do exactly what they did by doing DG in hm and then switching back to NM? I could understand not giving them world first on O9 and Kephess if they exploited a bug or something, but they used the same tools that every other guild had available. They should be commended for their ingenuity. If anything, it was harder to do than actually doing NM DG cuz they didn't get the loot from DG. Are they the first to kil those bosses on normal servers? If yes, then its world first.
  11. to answer op's question on mat rolls: Need = pug group Greed = guild run (most of the time goes to guild bank) IMO, mats are used by everyone, even if all i'm going to do is sell on gtn. Especially on the purple mats like the mass manipulator. Thats just like passing on roughly 500k credits. I worked just as hard as the rest of the group(more if we had a badly geared dps) and deserve an equal shot at the loot.
  12. Something that's kinda bugging me. Why the difference in aggro pulling only on hms? Doesn't make sense. It's not easier to tank bosses in sm so what are you're dps doing different?
  13. To answer the last part collections is account wide. I had a speeder on one server and was able to unlock it on a different one.
  14. It's more a fix of a mechanic that wasn't working as they intended it to. You were never supposed to be able to stack the bonuses and now they are making sure you can't workaround it anymore. Don't be mad because they are fixing an exploit that you are trying to take advantage of.
  15. Derp. Sad part is that someone told me that before and I forgot. Doesn't help that there is really no animation that you can see.
  16. Oh gosh, I don't know how many wipes have been saved from the >30% instafree heal combined with the new stim boost along with running for my life from the 20 adds i've managed to acquire. edit: especially the wookie boss on cad
  17. The only downsides I have with my op healer is that during fights it can sometimes be a pain keeping kolto probes up. Especially if the tank starts taking lots of dmg you end up not being able to waste a gcd on probes and the hot drops off. The second thing is that your aoe heal is a radius around you and only heals 4, so it's not as useful during operations. And I sometimes don't bother using it because of the energy cost if I need to throw out a couple big heals at the same time. Other than that though I enjoy my op.
  18. Sad part is I think the bounty hunter stuff is modeled after a real character in Star Wars. Can't think of the name though.
  19. Wow. Great post. I was thinking of leveling like this on my next toon. Good to know what to expect. Though 35-45 might be spent with some extra war zones so I don't burn out on foundry.
  20. Sorry. This one bothered me too much. It's choir. Ok. Continue discussion.
  21. I think that if the effects were more pronounced, you run the risk of slowing other players comps down. Some players have enough trouble running the game, and throwing in something like a full time glow or fire or etc, would just add on top of their comp issues. The way I see it, it's just something nice that I can admire when just sitting around on the fleet. I wouldn't want something that could be potentially mistaken for an aoe in pvp or distract me in an op.
  22. The reason it's bop is so it stops the ninjas from needing on everything for alts. Yes, you can easily pull the mods and put in a legacy piece to mail to an alt, but it requires more work and creds than the average ninja is willing to put in.
  23. Yeah. It's no different than changing any other keybinds. Maybe you should've tried in game first.
