  1. Do the space combat missions as they come available. If you completely skip every single heroic and flashpoint and do all the regular missions and the space missions (which give you a mission's worth of xp) you can keep up relatively well. It's not until 40+ that it becomes somewhat unable to keep up. However when you're finished with your class story and you haven't quite hit 50, Ilum, Belsavis and Corellia will ding you over in terms of xp. In fact they give out so much xp that just doing Ilum and half of Belsavis got me from 47-50 in 2 hours or so.
  2. I tried handing this to someone just to try it when I bought a set of boots (just testing it) and it's indeed bound to legacy. The only option is to get your legacy up because you can't give it to anyone else. Sorry.
  3. Get your social up. BW did state that in 1.3 you can wear social armor that will tier it's self to your highest armor class. So tusken skirt with heavy armor: Problem solved. However you will have to be patient for 1.3 to drop, that's the real down side to it.
  4. With the introduction of social gear matching your highest armor class in 1.3, are there any plans to offer a downgrading option to Consulars? Like allowing them to bump down certain items to light armor if they enjoy a certain look (IE: Basic Jedi robes like worn by Sentinels and Knights in the very early levels). It's nothing game breaking, but that simple belted chest piece I would love to have on my Shadow.
  5. Jedi Knight: Jedi Consular: Trooper: Smuggler: Sith Warrior: Sith Inquisitor: Agent: Bounty Hunter:
  6. Those class markers that are now above all character's heads (if you left it on, of course) is a 100% way to know what you are fighting. Considering that soon social armor will be available to all armor classes, augments to any item (not just crafted) and the new match-to-chest covering up some important key triggers of old class identifications, the old chestnut about "so we can identify" is no longer valid. Honestly when Legacy was first announced I was PRAYING for animation trades. Consulars with lightning, Master Strike animation on my SW instead of Ravage ect. But we didn't get it and it's worth asking for them to think on it again. Just because of how much fun it could be.
  7. Alderaan: 4 node caps, top damage for Republic, top protection for the game. 40 coms. Huttball: 2 scores, 1 killing blow on a carrier, top protection for the game. 20 coms. Voidstar: Again, top protection, 3rd damage for game and top for Republic, and 2 bomb diffuses. 0 coms. All of this a level 39 Shadow tank. PvP isn't worth it. 1k credits or less per, and I've satisfied myself with the idea that Republic loses all the time on my server. But I could grind it out eventually if I was patient and I even stayed in badly stacked matches. Now it's just not worth PvPing for XP, fun, or gear styles I liked. I just wanted gear for companions and some spare $ and XP with some casual PvP fun. All of that is gone now. I wont unsub for this sort of thing, but it's so incredibly annoying I wont even touch it anymore even on low alts. PvP went from casual friendly to hard-core only. This is a horrible change when hard-core PvP can be solved with your unfinished ranked warzones.
  8. For those who want to dedicate to PvP this is, actually, the only way to go. Doable, I grant you, but if you're on a low-pop side you can expect to spend a while getting coms together for the first piece. But still, possible. For those who are more casual in their PvP, or used it as a leveling extra, maybe even to get armor styles they liked... PvP is just not appealing. It's too much work for too little pay out for the intent invest. Worth is in the eye of the beholder, and when PvP holds only moderate worth to begin with, this kills a lot of your Qs simply do to the fact that casuals did make up a respectable (if not near majority) of the warzone crowd.
  9. Play the Sentinel. But shelve it till 1.2 drops next week. Watchman gets a buff (again), as do the other specs, and Jedi in general are getting buffs just because of the issues you're facing here. Jedi scale REALLY well with end-game gear, but you can't just wait through the level process and the gearing process to get that gear. Once 1.2 drops you will have an easier time, I promise. I just wish I had it as easy as you do now when I leveled my Guardian first. Coming soon it's almost like I leveled on hard mode.
  10. I have a Shadow (tank) alt and a Merc Bounty Hunter alt. I quite simply cannot be slowed down on anything. I was running so hard into mobs and blitzing them that both characters at the end of act 2 are slightly under content level because I don't do space missions. It's just... pathetic how hard Knight was compared to these classes.
  11. Shadow tank with Theran. I wish I was kidding, but you do decent damage (auto-crit projects) and you are a sturdy tank post 20. I've soloed a few Heroics on Tattooine and Alderaan and for an alt that's pretty easy playing.
  12. Honestly Valis, the Marauders, Sand Demon and Angral are decently challenging fights, the issue is they're made with the same idea in mind that your character will have at least some pieces of the trinity (tank, healer, dps). A lot of people don't like T7, and a lot of people level as a DPS. So the encounters feel very overtuned to them. If I had to relevel my character I'd level as a tank and then switch to DPS when I hit 50. Because leveling as DPS with this class was quite simply excruciating and frustrating to the point I almost re-rolled.
  13. People have hit 50. However people like me sometimes had to call in help in certain areas of "solo content" because things were stacked against me. I had no stuns or CCs, and 3 silver mobs staring at me. Maybe if I was capable of doing those two things... yeah. I might not have had the issues. But as stands I sometimes could not solo. Despite gearing myself and my companions to the poorhouse (but with nice duds) I had issues. The issue here is that sometimes I cheered when I saw an elite because they didn't hit nearly as hard and I could slowly cut them down with a healer companion, rather than get blasted into the dirty by silvers. Now this could be troublesome. Because the sniper/gunslinger is really DPS heavy. Squishy, but DPS heavy. So tuning down things could make them just railroad content. And to the quoted person above. I remember leveling in those areas. I feel bad for those still there. Calling people bad because they're having trouble or just assuming something is wrong with them is a mistake. We're not all the type who loves games set to Nightmare mode. Some people want the story, not the bruises. Please be respectful? Thanks!
  14. I know has probably been thrown out there a hundred times, but I feel it's warranted to be that 101st Dalmatian. Jaesa Willsaam is a very interesting character. The arc with her being light side and assisting my light side warrior was wonderful. However you cannot romance her. Her dark side version is just... over the top. In fact I'm pretty sure you could bring a jawa and a protocol droid into your chambers and she'd be agreeable to it. But the light side Jaessa is actually an interesting character I'd like to see as romanceable. Now don't get me wrong, Vette is who I chose and I don't want to back out, but if there had been a light side option for Jaessa... I might have actually had to do some thinking. That's all I'm really saying. Thanks for the time, Mimic
  15. But it can be that few seconds your healer needs to get off that extra heal. I admit it would be an amazing tanking cooldown, and especially during those "Oh crap" burst moments where everyone is hurt and the tank just needs that extra 2 heals to get the OP back to where it needs to be.
  16. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn302/Heironeous77/KellexSaber.jpg Color crystals, relics, shields/generators.... and an augment slot in a lightsaber. THAT is why you take Artifice.
  17. There was a point where companions could be anything. "Kits" allowed T7 to be a healer, a ranged DPS, a melee DPS (shock prod) or a tank. The same with all other companions for all classes. I think that was when the more rough edges were sanded down on the encounters and they'd have had to do massive overhauls on story, pacing, encounters and everything else when they decided to rework the companions to static roles. I don't blame them for this, honestly. But if Kira was my healer? I'd never have used anyone else for any reason and been very happy with Act 1.
  18. Adding a rebounding ability for ranged attacks would seem overpowering in PvE content. Some enemies do their damage that way. If you wanted to do that you'd have to set a health % limit. Redirect For X seconds you send ranged attack damage back to the original target (maximum X% of the Guardian's total HP). Now the HP % and the seconds would need tooling so no one could simply draw focus-fire in PvP and make people nuke themselves all the time, and so if a boss is slugging out ranged shots to stress the healers gear (first boss in HM Esseless) you don't break mechanics too much. Doable? Yes. Hard? VERY. However I think adding a small heal (think kinetic shadows) to ripost might be a way to increase survival significantly. The issue is how much and do you want to limit it by seconds as well? The last thing I'd throw out there would be making Guardian slash a baseline simply to add another strike at lower levels. It could help the leveling process greatly for all specs, and honestly the top tier of tanking talents needs something more... spectacular. Maybe that redirect idea. Heck, even being able to multi-stasis would be good. Throw it up and you dangle 5 targets in the air. Could do wonders for threat and AOE tanking I'd say.
  19. After 1.2 it can be your OPS gear too. Soon you'll be able to remove all mods/enhancements/armorings and put them anywhere. And you'll even keep your set bonuses.
  20. That is some of my issue. Dying is ok, it happens. Getting mopped around the floor repeatedly isn't ok. And some of that is due to the very late bloom the Guardians start to do. By 30 most classes are shoring up the last loose ends on their damage, tanking or healing route. By then the Guardian (and to a degree Sentinels as well) are just starting to get that feeling that they're actually specced into an AC. Eliminating that feeling would probably fix the issues. And over-leveling (so says Bioware) is not an intended way of surpassing it. You're suppose to be able to do it at-level.
  21. I think any level 50 can tell you that Knights/Juggs scale REALLY well with gear. And by that I mean absurdly well. So while I'd like to say that we don't have the tools we need... we just have too many and we're using pieces here and there we should be able to streamline a little. That with some minor base-damage buffing, maybe a light self healing ability (shadow-tank kinds) and we'd be more than up to the challenge and able to level without stressing ourselves out.
  22. Valis: Tried him until I ran out of cash to repair at 23. Could not beat him until I leveled to 25. Praven: Tried him and had to come back when I was 2 levels higher than him. Sand Demon: Called for help. The Commando healer and his droid basically soloed it. I was window dressing. Angral: Got killed 6-7 times no matter how much I worked to keep him from beating me senseless. Gave up and called in my friend again. He killed him inside a minute. Marauders (Act 2): Called in a Gunslinger after dying end even respeccing to Tank to try and kill them. Gunslinger killed them without cooldowns. Post-Doc I was fine for the most part, but still frustrated. Especially Voss. But I made it. However I loved the story of Act 1, but I loathed the gameplay in a way I cannot begin to describe. When I started rolling Alts I never once had any story boss issues nearly as grueling as this. Bounty Hunter, Trooper, Consular, Sith Warrior... none of them were this frustrating. The perfect example is that when Knights fight Valis, the Warrior fights soldiers. Several silvers. But they have kolto tanks they can hit for heals mid-fight. And a healing companion already. Sorry to those who have micro-managed their Knight experience or those who are truly a tank while leveling (easiest way). However if you don't want to level as a tank then Act 1 is shamefully hard, and nerfing the class quests are not the extent of the issue. Mechanics for the DPS side of Guardian needs to be reviewed to more gently scale rather than huge pay outs from 30-40 being the bread and butter.
  23. Vig isn't entirely more survivable inherently. It still leans on gear heavily, and on taking a few DR/Endurance + talents to really keep you from being a bit of a glass cannon. Or in the under-geared stages, a glass crowbar. Still I find that Vig offers much better through-put on damage than the spikes and valleys of Focus. That being said my Marauder's damage is by far much more consistent and with less jerks and stops. So all the guardian DPS will be getting a touch-up I'm sure. Because I know full well that before we can have a combat log we need to display better numbers or the jig is up.
  24. Yes, but not like you'll want. The guard/taunt mechanic is a bread and butter until later. Much later. 40+ later. After that DPSing is ok, but by then Troopers, Bounty Hunters, Snipers Sorcerers and almost everyone else are already way ahead of the game. Jedi Guardians shine in gear or with a pocket healer. While the former takes a long time to acquire, the latter may not be capable for you. However I will say that the mobility options for a Guardian in Huttball is amazing. Between Guardian Leap, Force Leap/Push/Force Leap combos and the generous Sage who can hit you with rescue you'll feel overpowered. However it doesn't last, and nothing in the Guardian arsenal really ever shines as brightly because of the half-hazard tank talents scattered into the DPS tree. But keep watching and I'm sure we'll get that clutter reduced for us eventually. It just may take a long time.
  25. Which I've always seen as utter crap for the Sentinels. I rolled Guardian, but I don't think it's fair that they didn't get Force Push along with us. It's far too iconic to be shoved into 1 AC.
