  1. Yeah, I just edited a bit, because i actually think i can beat them if going almost full vigil. But it still bugs me because I have to sacrifice some utility (like guard) in order to be effective in 1v1, whilst they don't have to.... ugh i dunno, maybe its just been a long day.
  2. Aight well before everyone and their mothers tell me to QQ, don't. Because this isn't a rage post. I just don't get the reasoning (if there is any). So pre-1.2 I couldn't kill shadow tanks, considering our buff whilst the shadows were APPARENTLY left alone, I figured I should be able to hold my own. However, after extensively dueling several shadows, ive found that there are still discrepancies. Shadow tanks are still able vanish/sprint/stun if we master strike during resilience. And while resilience is active they can combine their healing Tele throw with rakata medpac, which, as you know, is a substantial healing combo. Also, our attacks can be parried by shadow tanks whilst they simply throw rocks and we cry. It makes no sense. So riddle me this BW: Why do you give one tanking class a heal that does dmg at the same time, doest COST ANYTHING, and is on a short CD, then you give another tanking class a heal that has a long CD, does not do dmg, and COSTS FOCUS? Also, why is the former class granted better defensive skills which additionally possess shorter CDs?
  3. You obviously haven't 1v1 against any good shadow tanks or vanguards. Lvl 71 valor Guardian here and I duel several STs and Vanguard guildies on a daily basis. Vanguards are manageable and the fights are almost always extremely close. Shadow tanks, on the other hand, are impossible for a defense guardian to kill 1v1 if they know what they are doing. If your server has that many n00bs in it I would recommend coming to Twin Spears, we can educate you otherwise. Because I guarantee you are dead wrong.
  4. Gah, really wish you were on Twin Spears so that I could crush you.
  5. If used correctly, and by that I mean you must time it right, you can hit it when you have very low HP and just refuse to die. Before that you can use Saber Ward (lol). What I'm getting at is if you are in a really bad situation and have already low HP then giving up half of nothing to gain immortality isn't a bad tradeoff.
  6. You have no idea what you are talking about. I literally don't know what else to say. Granted, I only have trouble in duels with Shadow tanks and Vanguards, and by that I mean I literally cannot get them past 1/4th HP. EVER. At this point we have no combat logs, but when I see a Vanguard/Shadow able to hold their own in DPS against commandos in WZ, I start to wonder. Also, in regards to PvE it is literally impossible to tank properly. You have to use taunts way too much compared to the 2 other tanking classes. As I said, no combat logs, but there is enough evidence to confidently state that the Guardian needs some work. Especially in the Defensive tree. PS: Valor rank 64 Guardian in defense spec here.
  7. /puzzled Rank 64 valor Guardian in defense spec here. Bioware, why would you give the DPS advanced class (Sentinel) of the JK the BEST tanking ability in the game AND Saber Ward??? It literally blows my mind. It would be bad enough if you had given them just Saber Ward, but you also gave them an extra move making them the most survivable class in the game, in regards to burst damage absorption. At LEAST let Guarded by the Force be a JK shared skill, at best I would take away GBTF from Sentinel, and replace it with something akin to the Guardian's Warding Call (in defense tree). Any thoughts??
  8. Yeah good call, make the lines shorter so you can have a plethora of afk clowns farming valor/xp/cash. Just like WoW! No thanks, Ide rather wait up to 30 minutes or more and get into a group that is ready for some competition. It builds a much better community and PvP experience as a whole. If I want to verse some faceless red nameplate I'll just go play an FPS. This, on the other hand, deserves to be more personal.
  9. That, my friend, is a bit of a leap imo. The game as a whole is fantastic, and has been one of the most smooth releases to date. What most people are irritated about is the mysterious bias towards Empire players.
  10. Absolutely, many things can be forgiven, especially when you just sit down with us and tell us what is going on and give an explanation as to why the mistake was made. WE GET IT, PROGRAMMING CAN BE HARD.
  11. Indeed, imo being honest in the gaming industry sometimes scores you more brownie points with your customers than actually producing a perfect game. Look at CD Project, Bioware, and profit!
  12. THANK YOU BIOWARE!! I'm a guardian battlemaster, and one of the guildmasters of PvP guild Triumvirate on the Twin Spears server (Republic). We have about 300 members, of which approximately 50 are very active at any given point. I speak for all of us when I say: "Well done on last night's patch and we are looking forward to more of the same. At present, our biggest qualm is the mirror imbalance. Your warzones are indicative to what we expect to be a plethora of PvP goodness in the long run. Ilum needs some hardcore optimization IMO but we understand it is a work in progress, and is quite fun when you get guilds to work together." Fixing the turrets will literally make me sleep better tonight. Also, is there a specific reason as to why you simply cannot keep the animations but make instant casts cast instantly (confusing wording, I know)? Obviously, this will make it look a little odd for certain abilities, but until a better fix can be assembled wouldn't this be a relatively simple temporary fix? As a hardcore PvP player, I know that I would make the aesthetic trade-off without a second's hesitation. During a coding class in college I had a Professor tell me that there is never an easy fix when dealing with millions of lines of coding, but I can't help but wonder. You still have a long way to go guys, but here is a +1 up-vote to hoping you can sort it out. Cheers! ---Alphabeast Angrod PS: Remember Bioware/EA (really I'm referring to EA but w/e), gamers don't really mind when you admit to a mistake and address it openly. It is when you try to cover your tracks and make excuses that you create a PR nightmare. Be honest! It works!
  13. ^ This I mean, you can't be serious. If it takes you hours to finish your daily, please stop playing. Just chill out, find a good guild, join that guild, and profit from having good teammates. Or just keep whining and asking that a system that is already painfully noob-friendly give players absolutely NO incentive to actually be good at the game.
  14. Whassup all, I'm one of the three lovable guildmasters that make up the Republic guild Triumvirate on Twin Spears PvP server. After seeing the dissatisfaction regarding the state of affairs on Ilum for Republic players, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We brought together several other major guildmasters, and figured out an ideal weekly schedule that allowed most of our guildies to be online for an Ilum raid. The following actually consists of ~8/10ths Triumvirate, but usually we have a very good turnout across the board, which results in making Ilum what it should be. Enjoy! PS: Fix induction times plz!
  15. Lol you serious? Smug? A guy that likes Empire calling Republic....smug? I'm gonna have to chalk that to you just being jealous, of the fact that, in RL, you would prolly make awful choices and be sorely tempted (weak) to do the wrong thing. Instead of being the hero, and bastion of truth and justice. For the Republic! PS: please roll sith so I can rock you in PvP
