  1. The fact that Id most likely be filling a dps role for my group, however the word on the streets is (especially after 1.2 hits) that marauders are THE dps class to play and bring raid wide utility.
  2. So I play in a group as follows: Assassin Tank Mercenary Healer Sorcerer Damage And then its me, as the undecided Sith Warrior. My basic question is now with the release of the 1.2 patch notes, which Advanced Class should I go after? I come from a 5 year tanking background and do love the role but as far as main tanking goes, our assassin has it covered. I enjoy the 1 light saber look much more with the juggernaut and their play style is fun as well, along with the OPTION to tank being nice. But with 1.2, what would the smarter option be? Signed, A confused Sith Warrior
  3. Hey everyone I know that this topic has been beaten by to death but I'm struggling in picking a advanced class for my sith warrior. I am currently leveling with 3 other friends, a sorc dps, merc heals, and assassin tank. I have a 37 guardian and loved it, but now my role will be dps. Playing a mara would be new but I'm worried that one day I'll get bored of the pure dps and get that urge to tank.. Also, with swtor getting dual specc soon, juggs will be able to fill a tank or dps role at the click of a button where as the marauder will only be able to switch between a pve or pvp dps spec... My question is, which ac provides great utility from a dps standpoint? Which would be more beneficial in the long run with dual spec right around the corner? Does being a pure dps get boring? I've tanked in every mmo I've ever played so I'm bias to the role, however I've heard good things about marauders. Thanks guys!
  4. First off: I love this game. Second, I love the look and feel of this class. Wearing the heavy armor in Jedi robes with my single ligbtsaber, nothing compares. However the amount of work required to play this class is ridiculous. Survivability is a complete and utter joke until you get doc, which is absurd that my class can't shine until I get a pocket healer. All in all I'm just upset. I tried playing a shadow and its just not the same. Sure soloing heroic quests is nice but its not a guardian. "A symbol of hope in dark times" this is what I want to be,not a joker with a wet noodle for a weapon who has to work 5x as hard and use 3x the abilities to acquire and maintain threat like a Vanguard/power tech does. Until guards get some attention, I've gone to the dark side and put down the lightsaber in exchange for a blaster. Signed, A very disappointed Jedi Knight.
  5. Make saber throw hit multiple enemies, as long as they're close to the original target AKA Force Breath for Guardians. Edit: In Soresu form only.
  6. Title post a picture of your shadow here! Mine coming soon.
  7. Maybe this is too far out there to be developed but it seems that the Jedi Guardian has a very tough time with ranged mobs in that by the time you develop threat on all of them, the initial target probably isn't mad at you anymore. Why not have the blaster fire that is successfully deflected back at them, cause threat? Even if it was on a minor scale I feel as if this would solve SO many of the frustrating times where we can't comfortably hold on to ranged targets. Make it a talent, or implement it into Soresu form. Please. Anything or anyway we have to obtain it, I think it would be well worth it.
  8. Oh dear god this was me. Pretending I could do damage in my LAWLbringer set. HAMMER OF JUSTICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  9. So I'm kind of right back where I started in that I don't know what to play. I don't want to play a tank with horrible AOE capabilities. But I don't want to play a tank who struggles to get healed and has no mitigation.
  10. Thank you Kitru, I've read your other thread on Shadow tanks, and I really do enjoy seeing people out there who "Fight the good fight" This is a shame since I played a Paladin in "That game" and they had a nice mix of spells and melee, but I just didnt like the flow of it when I played my shadow. However I very much appreciate your input in my thread, and you as well as others have helped me decide. I appreciate all the help.
  11. I just don't want to regret going Shadow when BW finally decides to balance out the Guardians and make them alright at their job.
  12. So... If I want to tank do I roll Shadow or Guardian?
  13. So.. I'm either in for an overly complex class in the Guardian, or a very boring resource juggling one with the Shadow? This is rather disheartening because both of those options don't sound so great..
  14. Hey there everyone. I'm at a bit of a loss. I am brand new to SWTOR and upon first starting up the game I chose a Jedi Guardian, without looking into it or checking any background info. In WoW (Played from Vanilla all the way to Cata), I played a paladin tank and loved the AoE ability while still being a tough plate wearing tank that was capable of single target threat as well. It seems like the Jedi Guardian class resembles the Warriors of WoW and really don't have anything to offer on the DPS front. Which, is a bit upsetting because this being a new MMO, I might want to try a new role rather than be forced into nothing but tanking. Aesthetically, the Jedi Guardian has everything I want; a single lightsaber, and an awesome Robe/Heavy Armor look. But when it comes down to gameplay mechanics I'd basicallylike the option to DPS a raid or two as well. That frame of mind brought me to look at the Jedi Shadow/Sith Assassin. They seem to have what I want, solid DPS and above all else, AOE tanking! However they wear light armor (skirts) and use the double bladed saber that I'm not too fond of. Their game-play seems to be a mix of Stealth/Force Abilities/Melee abilities which is interesting, and I'm not sure how I like it. I really don't know which class to go for, and any In-sight from some endgame Shadows/Guardians would be fantastic; how is tanking in end game content/flashpoints/etc, what is the style of tanking for both classes, how does the gameplay feel later on. Thanks for any/all help!
