  1. About server transfers and these "mega-servers" that were announced. I've had this feeling for the past week that you guys are going to open a number of mega-servers, and have everyone move to a one of these new servers (and closing all of the existing servers we have right now). Is that what is planned (i.e. why it was announced that there would be no merges) and the reason why transfers are being held back for another month or more? Thank you for taking the time to do blogs like this, it's really amazing!!!
  2. I think, when you look at their side of thé thing, that the game si ont dying. Subs are up, the game si expanding to new countries... The problem we've got, ils is that they oppened 125ish servers too fast, when they should have had 25-30. WoW opened with very few servers in the beginning and it grew fri there. If I was them, I'd close 3/4 of thé servers to make à good 35-45 heavy/very heavy servers. And I'd do it now while people are still on their 6 months subs.
  3. 2 thumbs up. VERY happy this made the patch. Marking was way too annoying in PvP and as a tank both. Thank you BW, can now cross this off my wishlist!
  4. If you know where you're going, it's faster than that. I did 1-16 (end of coruscant) in like 5-6 hours. Put another 2-3 to finish Taris, that would make you around 20 in like 8-9 hours. You gotta skip some quests though.
  5. I remember owning him first try @ lvl 34 or so. If you follow the planet quests, you should get there around 32 and I'm confident I'd faceroll him at that level. Make sure sure Kira is geared with the best gear available (you can get 5 oranges pieces of social gear for her on coruscant, as soon as you hit Social I - then modding her with whatever is available from commendations). I found most problems with boss fights are either gear related, or interrupt related. If you still fail, the problem is most likely sitting 18 inches from the screen... =P (sry couldn't resist)
  6. No one can tell right now whether +Crit or +Power is better for a said DPS spec. Not until we get a combat log anyways.
  7. You so got it wrong. If you get hit by an attack that does 100 damage, you still heal for 3% hp. It's the same healing even if you get hit by an attack that does 10000 dmg. 3% of total HP. It has nothing to do with what you are talking about.
  8. I'm not happy they removed Protector but here is why they removed it. When they designed this talent, they wanted it to be a survivability boost for DPS guardians. That's why they put it so high up in the Vigilance tree. They wanted tanks away from that talent. Then the game releases, someone figures a way to use this talent as the pivot for a hybrid tank build, and everyone starts using it. BW developers obviously didn't think we'd use the talent that way, hence it's removal. There is nothing more to it, someone at BW went : "WOAH! WTH!" and they just redesigned the trees in a way that you can't so blatantly abuse a talent that wasn't meant to be used that way. I'm all for hybrid builds. Like if you wanna make a tank build that gives away some survivability to get more DPS, it's fine by me. It should give you more survivability and more damage at the same time though, that's just lame. There has to be a tradeoff somehow. I personally find that my build will be stronger when 1.2. goes live, not weaker (I'm a DPS Vigilance). The focus tree is getting a bit nerfed, although I always found it a bit strange that the 31 points you put in there serve the only purpose of making a single big AoE crit. Hopefully now, all trees will have a bit more depth.
  9. I doubt the build is the problem. Also, I have almost not used Doc since I got him, stuck to Kira the whole time and had no major problems. Granted, you have less room for mistakes when you run that build, but you shouldn't be owned like that. Try sending Kira in first, let her tank till she's around 1/3 of her health then taunt it off her. Also, I find using Soresu works fine with this build. Don't hesitated to switch right before you taunt off kira (try to burn your focus beforehand, you'll lose it anyways), then use whatever you have to rebuild focus (Force Stasis, Push+Jump, etc.) if you feel you need it. Don't forget to interrupt key abilities, move out of AoE, etc. Make sure whatever companion you use is WELL GEARED. If you use Kira, back on Coruscant, you can buy 5 pieces of social gear (all oranges) for a ridiculously low price. Then gear her up with mods with Commendations from whatever planet you are questing on. Also, make sure she's using the DoT stance, not the Armor Penetration stance for killing elites. Hope that help. Anyone that tells you you need Doc is a liar. He IS good, but not mandatory.
  10. Omg... Hax. I'm so stealing that idea...
  11. The ability delay (doesn't want to bring it up AGAIN) us screwing me more against sorcs than anything else. I play a guardian and I can't even time my interrupts properly. I'm pretty sure sorcs are fine or close to as they are right now.
  12. Am I the only one that understand why BW are keeping their mouths shut on this issue? Please give it time, they ARE working on it. It just isn't a simple issue. Anyone quiting at this point is a fool.
  13. I've had the same exact issue. I'm not there yet, but I'm thinking there is one more zone that will be accessible later in the game VIA Taxi transport. Maybe a storyline quest happens there later or something...
  14. I might be wrong, but I think that those against the dual-spec think this way. What is the point to do a hybrid spec, if you can have a spec for one thing and another for another one. I kinda agree on that, allowing dual-specing, people will get 2 cookie-cutter specs and be optimal in any circumstance. By not allowing it, you will have for example, people specing strait-out healing, thus forfeiting the ability to DPS decently, and people that will find a hybrid build, putting whatever they feel they need in healing to be efficient as a healer, while putting the remainder in DPS to allow them more versatility. There is simply no point to a hybrid spec if everytime you walk in a PvP zone, everyone is in the perfect PvP spec, and when you party, everyone is in perfect PvE/Operation spec. You'd be looser on both aspects. If they don't go foward with dual spec, they should put a CD on the respec (as well as a high cost) so that it is possible, but not easy to respec often. Before I get flailed, I will like and play the game whatever they choose to do. It was fun to have it in WoW, I don't see how it would ruin it so much for the people that are against it. I wouldn't mind if they decided against it either, I'm playing right now without it, and I have a good hybrid build I wanna check...
  15. When I player WoW, I did use my 2 specs for dps. One was my raiding/party spec, the other my PvP/solo spec. Personally, I'm fine both with or without dual-specs. I'd taxe my group spec ans switch a few things to make it work solo.
  16. Their categories system works fine. What doesn't work is that you have to use it. Most people know the names of what they are looking for, and should be allowed to just type it in (or even SFT+Right Click from your bag to auto add it to the search field). I mean it's taking me twice as long to look up the price of anything, and I just end up posting for whatever the price they tell me...
  17. I understand your point, and as an Artificer, I am going through the same thing you are. However, there is no established econ to sell anything right now, so you just RE everything. When the econ settles though, you'll be rewarded for getting a purp recipe and putting it to use. Maybe even for a blue recipe. Cause those slicers will be buying the best off the GTN. You'll start to make a profit, which will allow you to buy way more mats than if you just REed stuff. Right now though, it's hard to have a clear picture of how everything scales. Lets wait a few weeks for the GTN to really start working, then lets all complain again then.

    LOL Slicing

I don't understand people complaining about a skill that is available to everyone. It's not as if they made Gunslingers to more money. Slicers will get more money early on, true that. At end tier though, when people start to craft real epic stuff, they will all want to relearn into something else or they will pay the price for the rarer mats. Guess who will make the money then? If it's so unbalanced, quit your profession, and go get slicing. Personally, for having tried it in the beta, I can see no more boring crew skill than slicing and will never pick it.
  19. I'm gonna give +2 to that idea. +1 from me, and +1 from my gf that is tired to see me run to the computer every 5 minutes to send a crew on mission. On the other game they charged 3$ a month if I remember correctly. I think that'd be reasonnable. 5$ seems a little greedy.
  20. I think they figured quite early that EVERYONE would want a purple lightsaber. It's just too epic.
  21. can you RE a purple to get a orange recipe? Or like is purple the best recipe you can get doing RE?
