  1. Hi, I was modifying my UI yesterday, and I really find the CM icon looks like some fast added, unpolished UI element. Now I understand (I truly do and I don't mind) why it is impossible to turn it off, but would that be asking too much that you guys took a minute to make it a more integrated part of the UI? It can't be that hard. LOTRO for example had it part of the MAIN MENU bar. It could also maybe be made part of the mini-map (althought maybe that'd be too small an icon) Just thought I'd share this.
  2. I always liked that spec over all the other guardian specs. With the change to Plasma Brand and to Sundering Strike, it's got an even better feel than before. I don't think by design it was a spec to top the DPS charts - no godly burst or crazy AoE, hence people playing Focus over Vigilance - but it was a spec you player for the utility, and because it was so damn good in 1v1. I dunno, always liked it, and I like it more now. @BW thanks for changing Plasma Brand, most appreciated!
  3. I think on the contrary it'll save PvP. Once they get it to work properly that is. Think of a FPS game. Is there any kind of gear that comes into account? No, it's 99% skill and teamwork. People value more skill than gear when it comes to PvP. Only skill-less noobs will value gear (read: time invested) over skill. I think BW is aiming at having the PvP being 90% skill/teamwork, and the last little 10% being the little perk you will get from having the top gear, which they said I think was tuned to be 3-5% better. So you spend minimal time (1-2 weeks) gathering the first level of PvP gear, to be competitive and up to a few months getting the top gear, which will bring you 3-5% above the rest. A skilled player will always have the top over an unskilled player, and I think it's the right idea. Now the problem they have with the bolster, is that 1) people are stronger naked, and 2) people with green gear own people in full EWH/WH. The first issue, they said they are working on a fix (it is unintended) while the second issue will be gone very soon, when those having EWH and WH gear get to level 55. Then that gear will no longer be available, and people will be on even ground. Then over the next few weeks, they'll tweek here and there the bolster so that it's more representative of your level, while staying competitive (i.e. a level 30 shouldn't own a level 54, it makes no sense... while at the same time, he shouldn't get 2-shot). Really I'll say this, the expansion isn't even out yet (for most people) and still, everyone seems to be banging the panic button.

    Force Wave failing

It's happened to me too with both Force Sweep and Blade Storm when I bind them to the mouse scroll wheel only. And I think it only happens whenever I use the skill it before the animation of the previous skill isn't finished and I press the key anyways (using the delay). I have delay set to 0.5 sec and have no problem with the delay using any other skill bound to other stuff that the mouse wheel. Hope I gave enough info for the devs, I'll try to make it happen in a video and submit it.
  5. If you ever play against me, be kind plz... (bump)
  6. Forget about the trolls, your post was one of the best on the PvP forums. You should write guides about the other WZ too. Nevermind those idiots commenting the grammar, and think about all the people that read your post, understood it, and didn't post back. BTW, this should be [sTICKY] by now.
  7. I dunno why everyone is pissed that the expansion is "only 5 levels". Really, if they made it 10 levels it'd change next to nothing. People would get to cap in 1-2 more days and stall there... I'd rather they give us 5 levels and focus on endgame and QoL improvements. It's been a year now they promised the hood up/down option for exemple. And someone was complaining we only get 1 new skill. My bars are already FULL of skills. This game isn't like WoW, where you basically have half your skills you never use depending on spec (really, any frost mage out there with Fireball and Scorch in his bars?). In SW:ToR, you need to use everything. And they are making some great changes with how Alacrity works. Really I don't get why there is so much QQ. The feel of combat in this game is great. PvP is much better since they changed the gear around (not so much gear oriented anymore once you get to full WH - we do need more new maps though) and PvE is fun, and will be even more fun with the new achievement system coming up. Anyways, peace I'm gonna go play.
  8. Went to Ilum with my level 27 Shadow. Played sunday morning from 8:00am till 1:30pm. Logged out at level 43. WIth XP boost, it's roughly 3 levels / hour of play, whatever your level.
  9. Wow... I don't think I have disagreed more with what you just said of all the forum posts I've read. Sniper a 3-button class? We're definitely not playing the same class... Sniper (even Marksman) I a class full of resource and strategy. Only the bad ones rotate 3 buttons. I don't consider myself that good with my gunslinger, but definitely, it is probably the deadliest class in the right hands. No one plays them because it's so hard to play them at such a high level.
  10. The only guy I've seen own with clicking is this friend of mine who had 337 days played on his Hunter 3 years into WoW. I would recommand good key-binds to anyone. I personally use a Belkin n52te (Razer Nostromo replaced it), but I'd say the thing that'll set you appart others is to have as much stuff key-binded to your mouse (i.e. scroll up and down, the 2 buttons, scroll wheel click and ALT, SHFT, and CTRL of all of those)
  11. I'm trying to dig out the info, but I'm pretty sure the devs have stated that RE chance is modified by your level of crafting skill VS the item's actual level. Which means that you simply wouldn't have enough info to claim anything at all, since we don't know how the initial 20% base rating would be affected. For all we know, you could be at 20% base - 5% mod. Meaning your 14ish% would be right within target. I'll post link of the Dev post ASAP.
  12. I always thought that the best gear in the game should be unmodable and only obtainable through crafting recipes that drop from high end raiding with very hard to come by materials. Modable should be just one little notch under, but not BiS.
  13. Thank god for that post. Sorcerers loose their right to complain they get jumped by guardians/sentinels when they don't wait for Unremitting to wear off before unleashing their push-back + stuns. Really, the only sorcerers I don't own with like 90% of my hp left are those that can keep their stuns for that 4 sec.
  14. Really? 7k everytime? My only problem with Rage spec now (I hate that spec btw and will never play it) is when you have 2-3-4 smashers on the same thing delivering the hate at the same time. For all it's worth, Pyro PTs do way more burst than a Rage Juggs.
  15. Not if they spec-ed 12 points into Vigilance to get Unremitting (really any good smasher will), then you're basically screwed with any stuns for a full 4 sec after Leap. Long story short, they are immune to stuns for 4 sec ,they get 4 stacks for free with Combat Focus while flying to you, you get rooted for 3 secs (talented) and they have plenty of time to Smash you. Only thing really, is either break the root with your CC breaker (a waste...) or pop Dodge.
  16. NIcely done. For attacking, my new strat (after learning about the "ticks" on the door, thx to Polymerize) is to sit in view of both the door and the defending respawn door. There you can count ticks, burst down at the right time, CC someone that's going for a friend capping the door etc. In the first zone, you can even be next to a pilar while watching both, meaning you'll be able to abuse the LoS. Nice guid Poly!
  17. From my experience, if I have Saber Ward up, I will usually win hands down. If not I die with him probably standing around 1/4 to 1/2 health. The only way to win as a PT VS a VIgilance Guardian that has everything available up to use, is to kite through Saber Ward as best as possible (possibly throwing your stun to put some distance since you'll be slowed) and then coming down hard with all you got. Pop your defense CD through Master Strke (basically right after he jumps you). It should last long enough to take in an Overhead Slash and a crit Blade Storm, even possibly a Plasma Brand if he chains all 3. Any stun you use after a jump is a wasted one also. It's just crazy how godly that 4s immunity is against bad players. If you're not Pyro, it's harder still.
  18. From my experience, Sorcerers counters Gunslingers very well, LoS or not. I think their lightning and DoTs just own whatever defenses we have, while they can heal through some of the damage we put out. Against my Guardian though, a sorcerer will almost always be owned. But a good Sniper will probably kill me most of the time. It's just all part of this big Rock-Paper-Scisor game. I find the Gunslinger is one of the hardest class to play at a high level, but also, probably the strongest when played at a high level.
  19. Polymerize, thank you! Playing a Guardian mostly, I've been very aware (and using) the SILVER RULE OF VS (with all the slows, CC and the "don't kill anyone in TRANSITION PHASE" rule). What I've been trying to unsuccesfully to do though, was to control the freaking defending door (I have a chart with times written down to know when it'll open... which will never work when you go second on offense if the other team completed the map - the timer will be off and then it's hell), but I never realized that there was an actual visual tick on the door... how noob of me. I doubt anyone in my guild is aware of this atm. This is so awesome! I always give medals at the end of match to people I've seen steal a door or a node, someone how kept his CC to prevent a cap or to allow one of us to cap (people DO waste their CC for nothing...). Playing a Guardian, I can usually CC a bad player long enough to let one of us cap a node. Nothing is more frustrating when you get a 2v1 in Alderaan, you jump, push back (immobilizing for 3 sec) then chain your CCs to see that your teammate wasn't even capping the freaking node! DPS, HPS or any stat shown on the freaking board at the end is worth anything, especially if you loose. When I do get a medal, it's always from someone that is aware of my play, and not because of the DPS numbers I put out. Because DPS is the worst stat to look at to judge a player. Also, while I'm at it ************, an important skill to me appart from doing objectives and awareness is : "Can you win a 1v1 most of the time?". If you can't, HTF do you plan on defending a node against an enemy player that just pops there out of stealth (nevermind two...), and HTF do you plan to capture a node (this doesn't apply to AHG) going there by yourself, if you can't win the 1v1 fast enough and cap before more come? It's sad the number of people that will just bang their head stupidly going for objectives they will never cap in a lifetime, because they can't win this 1v1 or 2v2 (or even 2v1s, I've seen that) that is necessary to cap. I've been defending a node one time in NC (no stealth would do it of course... this was a pug) and this Operative banged his head at me 3-4-5 times in a row. He'd come and die every time. This guy couldn't win a 1v1, but still wasn't south to help, meaning it was a 6v7 for them the whole time and they got owned. Anyways, thanks a lot for your post, hope I'll get to play with you sometimes.
  20. I play a Gunslinger in PvP and they are tankish enough in Marksmanship...
  21. I don't understand why people still look at Damage/Healing numbers at the end of warzones. I find they are the 2 worst stats to make an opinion on how good or bad a class/player is. Here are the 2 things I am looking at : 1) Can the class win a 1v1 (on same level + equally geared player) Anyone who says that a PT can't win a 1v1 is flat out lying, and anyone who says that the PT will loose most of the time to most of the classes (and specs) are also lying. From my small experience playing a Vanguard, I think they are in a right spot for 1v1. It ain't the case of Mercs, who really have a hard time in 1v1. 2) Can the class contribute to a team effort (read - can it help capping/defending nodes, win games) If using you stuns and taunts and range correctly, you can definitely be an asset in a group. Examples of overpowered classes in a team effort would be Smash Juggs and Maras or Bubble-stun Sorcs. Those with little skill needed, do WAY more than they should for their team, while not being OP in 1v1. The rest is L2P, Rock-Paper-Scissor and people just trolling the forums.
  22. Err you got the math wrong bud. It increase speed BY 150% not TO 150%. Means they go 250% for 2 seconds. Means, if you go 30m per seconds they go 75m per second, meaning you'll be 90m away after 2 seconds. That's 3X out of range on most range abilities. What annoys me more with sprint is that you can't root them and deny them on it. I guess it'd be a bit underpowered if it were like that. And bubble needs fine tuning.
  23. I'd be cool if you could only respec during the beggining timer or in between rounds in VS. I have a tendancy to memorize specs when I face someone (ie. this guy is a smasher so I gotta move out...). It's annoying to face a tank, and suddenly he's a smasher and then a tank again. It should be "pick-your-spec-and-stick-around-with-it". As for gear, most shadow tanks and jedi guardians tanks will go hybrid in DPS gear. I doubt they get multiple gears...
  24. I think some people want to be in that spot where you can contribute to the team's DPS effort, while having the extra survivability of the Tank stances + the extra Defensive CD and utility. Some people on the other hand like to be that invincible force with 26k HP that just never dies, while killing the other team's damage with Taunt and Cover. Or to carry that ball across the map in Huttball. Or defend single-handedly a door in Voidstar. It all depends on what you wanna do and what is your playstyle. IMO the later is the harder of the 2 to play, hence most people going Tank in DPS gear. I know I hated to be a full tank (in Tank gear) as a Guardian, but loved it SO MUCH with my Vanguard.
  25. The problem with smash spec isn't about 1v1. It's about multiple Rage spec jumping and insta-killing a group of up to 5. If it wasn't auto-crit, you'd have a chance, but AoE auto-crit of 5K X 3-4 players = 15k hp gone in 1 GCD on multiple people. If 3-4 PT wanna focus you, fine. It still won't be AoE, 1 people will die. You can't nerf focus fire, but Smash as it is now is like focus fire for the noobs. Plus don't forget that a well speced Jugg will have 4 sec of immunity and 20% dmg reduction after a leap, making them impossible to CC or control before the have the time to unleash the Smash.
