  1. Issues with Loadouts: Loadout 1 is Bugged for several People. Mitigation: if loadouts behave odd and you are using Loadout one, stop using loadout one. Items the class you switch to can't wear such as Set Implants or Weapons will drop the Item you currently wear to your Inventory, instead of going to the Bank or if you have the Legacy bank currently opened the Legacy Bank. Mitigation: if one of your classes can wear the main/offhand of the other class make "naked" loadouts that have that weapon and generic Implants and tacticals. Example: my Shadows have a single handed Lightsaber in the "Naked" loadout so I can switch to that and from there to my Guardian/Sage spec without having to clean my Inventory. switching Gear via Loadouts will show you a preview, except if the Items are in the Legacy Bank then you won't see the preview so no matter if the Items are put away properly or not you won't see it until you hit activate. Mitigation: if you activate a Loadout and Pieces are missing go back to the Previous Loadout, find the character wearing the stuff put it into the Legacy Bank and then go back and load the loadout again this one is working as intended the error here is on the user side: Forgetting to put gear in the Legacy bank before Logoff. Mitigation: create an Outfit that you'll recognize as the "naked set" or tick "show Gear as Outfit" for the "naked" loadout that way you can easily spot who has the Gear in the character selection.
  2. GSF has been a Part of SWTOR for Years now, but that has nothing to do with anything. The reason it's recommended is because it's actually not Broken, unlike the rest of the Gearing. And if all other Gearing Systems are majorly flawed what else are we supposed to push People toward? Why wouldn't you want to just gear up with GSF to 326 in <12 Hours using 4 Characters (or one character for 4 Weeks), Compared to 324 OPS Gear requiring 24 Hours and 24 Characters (or one Character over 36 Weeks, EV&KP aren't available as Weekly Quest every Week)? To me it seems obvious why Players recommend GSF instead of VM OPS, sure the fastest Gearing method is the one where you like the content but we are talking about an insane amount of extra Work and either a much higher Character count requirement or a Time-span where you will have gotten the gear to 326 from trash solo content Months before you have 324 Ops Gear.
  3. the Tank (player) on the Right side can Taunt and take the Debuff, the right Tank (vehicle) (just like the left Drouk) only does internal Damage, the Debuff doesn't affect that. The Timing is also very Easy it's always during the bodyblocking phase (double destruction? I've never read the ability Name since I switched to the English client years ago). telling DPS to Taunt Bosses is very Rude, let them continue to sleep.
  4. the FFXIV Community is so Toxic they are Weaponizing the Report System. Play with an Accessibility mod that puts a slightly Larger Countdown number on Icons -> if you Stream it, you WILL get banned because a Viewer WILL report it. as for WoWs community, I got Items traded after a Dungeon, while my Gear was worse then what dropped several times (sometimes even without asking) same as what I did myself/benefited from in SWTOR when that was possible, but @OP it's not that the SWTOR community is less nice, SWTOR literally removed the Ability to trade Gear some time ago. If people enter a Groupfinder activity in the wrong Spec, in WoW they can go Outside, change and come back (in M+ elsewhere you might be able to just change inside while out of combat idk. I'm just a wow casual). Again, it's not that SWTOR players are toxic and just insist on staying in the wrong spec, SWTOR players have no Option but to either do that or Leave. Since a recent patch, you can't change spec in a Groupfinder Group anymore disregarding if you are inside or outside the Instance. I don't care what People write in Fleet/Trade chat, Imo actions speak louder then words, but SWTOR Players get their hands tied more firmly each patch. people not automatically trading away Gear that has stats for their offspec / their 13th alt might feel bad, but they did equal amounts of work and rng smiled on them, and it makes the times when you do get Gear traded feel so much nicer. back in the good Days a group chat with "oops I listed for the wrong spec." followed by a "lets try anyway." by the Group and the person then trying a new Role, was usually a far more fun Flashpoint then the ones where everything went flawlessly from the start. basically the Game has shaved away almost all possibilities of helping each other, except for hard carries where one player does most the Work and the others just run along. And I don't think most People want a Carry, I do believe many Players would want to pull their own weight so that "kindness" usually goes unappreciated. I think SWTOR is way less Toxic then what you seem to think and much of the "Toxicity" it has developed was caused by bad Decisions, removing the Possibility of kindness leaving only the "Darkside" and a "neutral" Option for Player to Player interaction, I think the only "Lightside" option left is throwing players a few Million Credits. that's almost like the Lightside option in the FP (was it red Reaper?) where you free some defenseless adds that then proceed to attack you and get killed, in the past, if you were a full stealther Group you pick "Lightside" and Stealth away to actually be nice. By the way, that was removed too. You can't drop Combat anymore, now you'd have to /stuck.
  5. like you said it's just qol and shouldn't derail this topic any further, I'll write this then stop. It's an issue with unfun Gameplay not with making Mercs unplayable. the DPS loss due to this won't even be visible on a parser as crit luck has a way bigger impact. Multiple classes have this issue. you'd have to click off the Raidbuff before your next GCD starts as one single shortened GCD will force the issue to appear, the Buff can happen at any time there's nothing preventing it from being applied to you just before your already queued next Ability is executed and take affect before you even see it because of lag. delaying your Ability would be the only Solution but it's not worth it for such a minor DPS loss, you won't even see it on a Parser. it has nothing to do with Gear by the way. It's purely changing alacrity (specifically increasing it, decreasing it doesn't matter) after you trigger an internal CD of a proc that is coded to align exactly with your Rotation that causes issues.
  6. the one who doesn't understand alacrity is you. If you could at least read it wouldn't be so bad it's fractions of a second not 3 Seconds.
  7. this isn't really a SWTOR Specific Issue but applies to basically any healthy Human on Human Interaction that you'll ever have. If someone is forced to interact with you while you don't adhere to the Rules they set that's very unhealthy. Just like it is the other way around if you were forced to interact with players that don't adhere to the Rules you care about, it would be unhealthy as well. we should try to not do that in Games. there's a few solutions if you disagree with the rules a Player expects you to follow when they invite you to play with them: solution #1 find a different Group solution #2 create a group yourself solution #3 join a guild solution #4 play a Single Player Game pick one of them, they are a little simplified but should very easy to implement. as for the Difficulty of EV HM, it is extremely easy to clear in anything above 306 gear with approximately the right stats, with or without augments. Assuming you aren't just pressing random Buttons.
  8. close your Eyes imagine hitting 4 Buttons and Hearing a *dingdingding*. then imagine after you hit 2 of the Buttons a Commando hit the Raidbuff you hit the remaining two Buttons, no *dingdingding* [end of Video]. there's your Video, very informative. now that you have imagined that Video what do you change in the code to fix the 1000+ Issues you saw? Issue 1: the player is a Mercenary but we know those are bad -> Solution: do a Search and Replace of the Gamecode to replace all Occurances of Mercenary with nothing. Issue 2: their Hair is clipping with the Armor they are wearing -> Solution delete that hairstyle. ... ... ... Issue 420: the *dingdingding* didn't happen -> the dev who watched the Video to look for Problems had the Video muted -> Solution there's no difference in the first Place. how is a Video going to help when the Statement: "the internal CD of Proc "x" should have some leeway so that changing Alacrity doesn't cause you to delay a Trigger." isn't sufficient? for something like Twilek Lekku are clipping with "this", sure make a Video. but for a complex interaction like how having someone activate the Mando Raidbuff at the wrong time will cause you to become unable to execute your rotation unless you delay your Ability manually (by 0.3 Seconds. (the intended way to play the game appears to be pressing abilities slightly early -> that eliminates lag and creates a level Playing field.) having to create a 4k slow Motion Video (required to be able to see and identify all the Buffs affecting the player at all times) with timestamps visible in the Video so you can see how one time the trigger GCD is at the ICD and the other time it's 0.3 Seconds early is such ********.) at the same time whoever get's the Bug report likely would prefer text as well that saves them the 5 Days it would take to Picture match all the Buffs shown in the Video just figuring out that 95% of them are meaningless for the Issue. I could see the usefulness of a Combat log but that's about it, a Video would be worse then useless.
  9. after having played the fight several more times now: it's terrible to tank, not hard, just bad. please give us a console in front of the Boss Room that improves resource Regeneration/triggers procs and converts our Tank-stats to DPS Stats. Alternatively, recreate the Boss fight with the adds being active the full fight except for the button phase and the burn phase in the end. Tanks have no Job until the Droids spawn. In the Button Phases, as a Tank I feel like I should really be clicking the Button as preventing the bombs from going off is what removes the incoming Damage, DPS are required to finish off the Bombs and the adds need to die -> I feel double Worthless. then there's nothing for the Tanks to do until the next Button Phase. -> it's not Fun
  10. you literally can't carry the Healers unless you bring more then two on 8-man they have to do their Job, DPS don't. you can underheal on 16-man but you could drop half the DPS if it wasn't for the Nightmare attack so I simply don't get why you would rater carry bad DPS then Carry mediocre Healers.
  11. literally every single Argument you make contradicts itself. I'd take any Healer who can properly assign dispells over any Scoundrel/Operative that only ever learned how to cast underworld Medicine on themselves. you don't have to click just pressing the cleanse Button with Nefra in your Target will self-cleanse, DPS don't have to look at the screen for Nefra if the Tanks do their Job, there's a very obvious que for when the Dot is applied. what does either of that have to do with Healers? why wouldn't I flame you just because some arbitrary number you made up? So what if healers and Tanks can't do 25k DPS without any healers or Tanks you'll never kill Nefra MM.
  12. I don't get what you want. from this: I thought you wanted to have the issue fixed. Duniss told you how to accomplish that: you just ignore that and fixate on the part where you are told that there's people who don't care at all what you are, politics, anything, except they want people to be mad. let's take a step back and look at this from an example where you are maybe less emotionally charged: those people are like children ringing the Door of elderly people and then hide and laugh at them. let's assume that's in a game and such pranks are against TOS (to make it the same situation as what you describe) two Options: send the Video your Dorbell made to the Administrator, the Administrator banns the children, done issue solved. stand in the Doorway wave your cane and yell at the Air while the shrubs are shaking with Laughter, done issue aggravated they had their dopamine Kick and will do it again.
  13. sure, but only if the group resets if any DPS does less then a 85% Parse and kicks + /ignores that DPS. Dumb standards in a Game community are "fine", if the same Standards apply to all. Have you had the Tank&Heal slots filled but couldn't find the DPS to kill Nefra? no? I wonder why.
  14. getting PVP gear till 326 then going for random Rakata Drops until you have maybe 3/4 of the gear and only then going for upgrading forced Drops from 320 is the preferable way. Certainly upgrading Rakata from 320 to 330 exclusively with currency is definitely the worst way to Gear, even so I have no clue how you can run out of Conquest commendations if you don't convert to Tech Fragments, I was sure the others would run out long before, about using Multiple Characters to feed one, it's simply a consequence of Legacy Gear and Legacy Gear is universally considered one of SWTORs strongest positives by pretty much everyone I know. Its also used the Other way around, using the Main to Equip alts. I'd say the everything is character Bound and if you want to play more then one character you have to grind everything again is the Lazy approach but everyone can have their own opinion on that.
  15. Equip one Character and upgrade that one character to the Highest iLVL you can with the Content you do. then send that gear around via the Legacy, don't upgrade alts with Currency. once you have good Gear, Drops will match the iLVL of your Gear in the Content that can match iLVL or be at the limit so it can't be upgraded in the first place -> you don't have to upgrade it again. you get 200 commendations / Week / character but only 8 times then you cap. gear should cost you negligible amounts of Conquest commendations unless you upgrade each character from nothing instead of using Legacy Gear / iLVL matching Drops with the Loot Specialization setting in your portrait. if the reason you want more conquest commendations is not for gear but because you want Tech Fragments, ask for how to get Tech Fragments instead not for conquest comms. Edit: changed the 5 to 8, ty Darcmoon.
  16. THANK YOU, these General goals are exactly pointing at the core of what was wrong with 7.0 OPS Gearing. Will it be a Token called "Boss 1" that can be traded for any of the Items for that boss, or can you get Waists for months in a row and never get the other two Options? please please please let it be Option one. what about the Equal iLVL drops that we have right now, that are used to Gear up alternative Roles? I hope those will not go away, it would be really bad if they did. lastly SM Players have 322 Gear right now, from our testing a Group of SM Players will never kill Boss one even in 330 Gear, they will have to get a Lockout to play and kill the later Bosses from other Players, in my experience that kind of "gaming the system" doesn't generally happen at that Level of play, though maybe I'm wrong about that. I like them, both of them, if you solve the Issues I have noted above I think it's perfect. however you have to adjust some Legacy Operations. leaving them in the Broken state they are right now makes all the talk about difficulty based rewards a complete Joke. I'm not just talking about iLVL, the Token+credits for each Upgrade change has to happen, NOT daily grind+Conquest+... after getting that out of my System, I'm sorry but you just showed you know 100% spot on what is systematically wrong with current OPS Gearing and it seems like you want to do nothing whatsoever to fix it, now to my concerns with iLVLs. The good news is, except for Nefra, no VM/MM boss dropped better gear then their Difficulty justified and if the DPS check on Nefra gets fixed (especially in 16 man) that would be fixed too. (I see no talk about the "use one dead person to cheese that Boss" Exploit, but I can't remember seeing a patchnote, please tell me that was fixed long ago, otherwise that one is actually worse then Nefra) so you could easily bump the iLVL of the Pieces dropped from most NIM bosses and give them the same reward System as for the new OP. even with that, most Progression Groups killed by 7.0 will not come back, but new ones can from, and the ones that haven't disbanded should be very happy with the fixes and the fresh content. if you show you know exactly what is wrong with OPS Gearing but you only fix it for the new OP and make its VM Impossible for anyone but the Best NIM Raiders, you will just kill the last Progression Groups the Game had left. heres the Issue: as far as the People I know about go, the old OPs being way overturned was accepted, because new gear was on the Horizon to prevent the Power creep that usually happens to give new gear for the release of the new OP. Just because we want to re-clear old OPs doesn't mean we want them handed to us. But the new OPs has Nim Level bosses at HM just like it was for Temple of Sacrifice, except during temple times Nim was generally easier so it was possible to clear and at the time it had the Best Loot so while it was Wrong from the perspective of having a good difficulty Curve in the Game, the Rewards matched the Difficulty so it was fine from the perspective of rewards having to match the actual difficulty. the Gear it rewards would be appropriate for many Bosses in the older OPs, they should be bumped to have the same iLevel. and then if the new OP ever gets a Nim Version the hardest of the Legacy Bosses can be bumped up again to match the newest Gear. note: I'm talking about actual difficulty not what is written on the "select difficulty right click Option" even with the Enrage timer fixed, nefra MM should probably only reward something like wrists (but those should be MM level once the Enrage timer is fixed), while Master Blaster even in VM should reward a Legacy-MM mode Main-hand. while Apex can almost certainly get a Mainhand that should be upgradable to the same iLVL as that of the new OP in MM once that exists. TLDR: Legacy OPs temporarily rewarding Gear inappropriate for their actual Difficulty was fine, when that gear was bis and the limit was meant to combat power creep. with the release of better Gear Bosses of appropriate Difficulty should reward up to BIS Gear. the terrible way of grinding OPS gear we've had since 7.0 was never fine and will never be fine. and HAVE to be applied to Legacy Ops as well have a nice day and tell the others the same, I do feel strongly about wanting SWTOR to be the best it can be, but in my Opinion SWTOR is overall the Least bad MMO that I have played, even with all it's Issues
  17. I get where it came from. in 6.x you got Drops at your average iLVL +-2 levels but the Mods could be 302 304 306 inside that shell -> stuffed "4" items into your Bank for every actual Item you put in. to make room for the Gazillion lootdrops and only trashed things that had neither a Setbonus nor any 306 Mod. you wouldn't distinguish between good 306 and bad 306 because that takes too much time and the Legacy Bank will close if a Group member pulls anything. a Week later when your Legacy and Character bank overflowed you made a Storage Alt and sent everything over. ... then half a Year later you'd write a ticket to support asking them where you put that good Augment and they'd tell you: you have three "xyz" on "Storage alt #17" in Bank 3 and 5 on "Storage alt #23" in Bank 2. just cutting the number of possible Variations would have fixed half the issue. dropping less Items but always at iLVL would have fixed the other half. dropping 1 Item / Boss instead of 6 would fix the third half. and making Gear unmodable broke three halfs of the System to Balance the Improvements out and make sure the System is as broken in 7.0 as it was in 6.0 just different.
  18. if the Vendor Window opens at all, at the top there's a dropdown with your combat discipline (Telekinesis, Seer, Balance) change that to "All" the Items might still be hidden if you lack currency (?) but I'm almost sure, as long as you have the base Item the "All" should display the Upgrades. if it doesn't work, have someone double check, then file a Bug report.
  19. simple: all Bosses drop "random" Items for Equipment based on difficulty. Nefra MM = any OP Boss in MM drops any Rakata 320 - 330 Item for your selected Loot Discipline. the dropped Item will match iLevel with what you have Equipped in that Slot but no lower then 320. if you have one low level Item that will be the guaranteed drop and it will be 320 Rakata. more details:
  20. no you couldn't have, if you want to get BIS gear from OPs you'd need at least one more Month and several more characters to funnel. Or many many many more characters & A group that can farm Nim Clearruns for Weeklies... then you might not need that extra Month. PVE gearing is slow, PVP gearing is fast. maybe you could have started with FPs and then did ops but if you are a PVP player why wouldn't you use the fast gearing track to 326 first, you can still go and grab Rakata now if you believe it is / it'll stay stronger than 326. PVP is the 2nd most efficient way to 326 (gsf is better for PVE players because losses in PVP don't reward anything) so the point of farming PVP Gear as PVP Player is exactly the same as for PVE Players who farm PVP Gear, it's to get gear. except PVP players ought to be done once they are 326 for PVE players the Grind & drop lottery have only just started once they have PVP gear.
