  1. That's true, but the way party invites just pop up in the middle of whatever and distract makes it annoying. It starts to become a problem when it happens at a bad time (concentrating on a fight or whatever) or when you decline but the person keeps inviting. After that happens, which I'm assuming most of us have experienced, you just look down on such actions.
  2. To be fair, while I share the OPs view, I do understand some situational usages of the invite. Say for example, I'm fighting some quest target and another player comes by who needs it as well. The target is nearly dead, the chances of it NOT dying before I notice and reply to a /tell is next to none, yet the chances of me noticing the invite is greater and faster. In those cases, its understandable IMO.
  3. LOL just noticed the title change for this thread. Well less offensive is definitely the better approach.
  4. My Bounty Hunter with remodded Juggernaut head/chest gear flexes you
  5. It is kind of disappointing that Twi'lek is permanently forbidden to have the hood on. There really should be a fix to that, not to mention an option for the hood to be on. Currently the only way to wear the hood is to either be using a small head equip like a tiara/crown or mouth guard, not have anything equipped, or to have the head equip visual option turned off. Vice versa to not have the hood on, which sucks if you don't want to have anything covering the face. You're stuck with something being there one way or another unless you're a Twi'lek.
  6. What's right in my mind is what's right in everyones mind. Now I suggest you go ride off on your unicorn before something bad happens to ya. We don't take kindly to logic around here.
  7. LOL I do wish they'd patch the same time as maint though. Multiple instances of maintenance per week is really stupid. It's a major inconvenience for the time slot chosen, because of priority timezones, but it is a fairly significant populous regardless. Emergency maintenance is one thing, but so far, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 occasions (if even that), they weren't game breaking fixes.
  8. Nonsense, Sorcs/Sages have 3 too! They have a Project/Lightning channel, the instant version of it, and a knockback. I agree with the Merc/Com though. I hate coming across the haxx Sorc/Sage healing or the rare Merc/Com haxxing the game so they have something other than the only ability BW gave them.
  9. I primarily play a Powertech tank spec (not even pvp spec'd one). Sorcs/Sages are easy usually because of the low defense. Now granted, as a Powertech tank spec, I have access to several forms of interrupts. The only time they're a problem is when they're out in the open, no potential LoS spots in case I run out of interrupts. My damage isn't very high compared to a Merc, so I really only have interrupts to rely on. Just like 99% of the Tracer/Grav spammers, interrupt a Sorc/Sage player and they're basically useless for that time. Bad players at its finest.
  10. Typical tunnel vision player IMO. I'll give in and say that the people who cap 6-0 early on, are doing it wrong. But in general, Huttball imposes no additional strategy changes as any other warzone, the exception being if you are the ball carrier. It does often times discourage pvp by being the carrier, but I have to tell you that you do get some damn satisfying kills as one. Using Grapple on some random ranged class (who is attacking me while I wait for flames to go down) and killing them in the fire is pretty humorous. For everyone else though, I seriously don't agree with what you mean by discouraging pvp. Playing it right means your priorities just change more often, but you're still trying to kill someone. Healers are still a huge priority, often times more than the ball carrier. But wait, that might change depending on how close the ball carrier is to the goal. Players such as myself, tend to just go for the kills BUT we don't ignore objectives. Sometimes, just gotta ignore that current kill and switch to a higher priority target. Mind you, doing this, I still rarely ever lose out on a kill. Knock/pull that ball carrier off the edge, continue taking down the healer or whoever that was with em. Although I guess that's all pointless for someone of such outstanding caliber like yourself.
  11. As someone who has played Huttball as several of the classes on Empire side, I can honestly say that Huttball sucks while you're still low level. Of course you're not going to enjoy it, you lack most of your fun/useful/necessary abilities and skills. I thought it was just "okay" during the lower levels, but once I hit somewhere around 30 on my Powertech and Sorc healer (almost there as Marauder, very far as my Ops), Huttball quickly became one of my faves. I suppose it also helped that Huttball is pretty much the only wz that Empire does fairly well at on my server. Ever since the 50s bracket was introduced, we nearly always lose Alderaan. Voidstar is about 50/50. Play your character right and you can actually make a HUGE difference in Huttball. Moreso than any of the others.
  12. Healers should never top the damage charts, unless we were talking pre-50 bracket, because then it might be possible. As for healing... well that's obvious I hope. I'm quite sure you're referring to DPS sorcs and their having high heals. First off, the odds that everyone that has a heal and actually using it sometimes is pretty damn low. The part about using it is the key point there. Of course this DPS sorc/merc/whatever is going to top the charts in both. There's likely no one else to compete against in terms of the healing.
  13. No one likes to mention Sages They're pretty much equal to each other. The Inquisitor storyline is generally considered the most interesting or enjoyable, compared to most (if not all) of the others. Honestly, I think that might be one of the bigger reasons you see so many. I made an Inquisitor simply because I picked it for the hell of it. I encountered the first (of many) D-bags in the story, and immediately fell in love with the common sith concept of wanting to kill your master. In 3 words: I was hooked.
  14. To be honest, for the server I'm on and being empire, I can understand why a lot of people leave. Nearly every single person on the team is really bad at pvp. Most of the good players had hit 50 long ago. That being said, I'm quite certain that the people who leave, are just as bad, if not more. We lose A LOT without those guys that made wins very possible. A hint for being good at pvp, it involves more than just doing damaging attacks to the target. Something that my fellow teammates don't grasp.
  15. For Princess Teta server, I've noticed we do REALLY horrible at Alderaan, but do fairly well at Huttball. I seriously would have thought the opposite if anything. At least for the 10-49 bracket. I mean it's so bad that I've actually been in a match that we had claim on all 3 turrets, around 300 points lead... lost every turret and the match in the end. Voidstar seems to be about 50/50. A lot of the good players leveled quickly to 50, so many of them (on alts) are nowhere in sight for the leveling bracket lol. And yes, I pvp'd with a lot of them before they hit 50, and they almost always had a strategy of sorts for winning.
  16. I lol'd with that 2nd part. So very true for those unmodded pieces. I don't have experience with armortech, but I know for armstech and synthweaving, I do profit off my artifact tier things. Profit generally ranges from 4-10k per equip depending on the level. It sells fairly often too. Maybe 7/10 times, it'll sell within 24hrs. Not a lot for a 50, but lower levels definitely need what they can get usually. As for why to bother crafting? None in this game... actually none in any game. I mean sure, games like WoW will give you certain stat bonuses depending your crafts, but other than being a min/max player, you really don't NEED them. For SWTOR currently though, its just about convenience and a "false" sense of usefulness. Biochem allowing you to have the best consumables for whatever you do. If you want credits, just get to 50 and do daily quests. If you just want something to kill time with and burn credits on, craft up a storm. Right now, its best to just think of it as something to do if you have an interest in crafting. No goal of making tons of credits, no goal of having endgame gear exclusive to crafts, etc. I like to think of crafting as something of a completionist (learning as many artifact tier as possible). In most games, being that way only means you're spending money for digital glory. No reason this should be any different I guess.
  17. You would think there would be a response about the other crew skills from BW. Even something as simple as "The developers are still in talks about how to make the other crew skills more appealing than they currently are. There are no guarantees we will have these features available by the next patch release though." would work. Although I guess anything they say can be a double-edged sword. Since even that would imply that they admit there's something wrong or useless about going anything else currently.
  18. Actually its a lot cheaper to have the crew member go out and get them for tier2 and above. For example, I almost always end up with 20-35 Brocart Filaments (vender cost: 150 per) for doing a Bountiful/Rich mission. Mission cost: 1000-1400 credits Yield: 20-35 Brocart Filaments (3000-5250 credits worth) The first tier one (the one that only costs 10 credits from the vendor) is definitely not worth it imo, just because of how cheap it is.
  19. I support that games bit from cybertech. Having that chess game (like in the movie) in your ship might be kind of fun, and in a creepy way, promote people to get inside your van... spaceship. The game is still very new, the sort of things that people want only come from well established games. Regardless of how many subscribers they may or may not have, every MMO can instantly go belly up if they don't plan accordingly in conducting themselves. That being said, they need to prioritize some other things before adding fun activities/actions. Those things that you suggested are only the request of few, the many want other things. Some crucial (bug fixes), some not as much (pvp nerfs, aka F'ing up pve). Either way, those 2 are the most prevalent cries, adding fun into other things, like your suggestion, won't happen for a while unfortunately.
  20. To be honest, it depends on how your servers economy is. At 50, crafting except maybe Biochem, is next to useless CURRENTLY. It nets you chump change compared to just spending an hour doing daily quests. Pre-50 is where the economy part comes in. I make decent profits for sub-50 making artifact tier equips/mods and selling them on the GTN. And yes, this is including the cost it is to acquire the mats and even those used trying to learn the artifact recipes. There just aren't a lot of people willing to put the time and effort into making these things, so people like me are of the few that do. Expect a major buff to production crew skills somewhere along the way, although whether or not it also ends up buffing Biochem is unknown (thus making it still the most useful). It's up to you whether or not that much matters to you. Generally speaking, I enjoy the somewhat unique form of crafting in this game. That enjoyment is about on-par to profiting. Every MMO I play, I need to have crafts leveled.
  21. Except those Light Armor wearers tend to go down faster usually. Although with all those escape tools, success will vary... which if they didn't have, it's basically a free kill. Not very fair in that light. Seriously, did tracer/grav get a buff or something after Ops was nerfed? Why all the QQ now? I really don't notice anything different besides the FOTM players all rerolling to Merc/Com. I guess because it happens more, people take bigger notice. I don't really have an issue with it personally, there hasn't been a single tracer/grav spammer that plays the game well enough to be a threat 1v1 in the leveling bracket. I'm willing to bet that a large number of the people having problems are either fresh 50s fighting geared spammers or lv10-20 players fighting lv40+ spammers. In either of those cases, the odds are very much stacked against you. If that isn't the case, don't know what to tell you. Some of us don't have problems with them even if they're in the high 40s, and I'm only in the 30s.

    Tracer missile

That's not much different than dealing with a decent healer. Only difference is that tracer/grav spammers tend to not recover damage you do.
  23. /high5 I actually try to pay attention to who's actually useful in a match when selecting mvp, not really just the person who did the most dps (and healing sometimes). Objective points are totally misleading, so you can't rely on that neither. Sometimes all I do is dps and not care about the objectives, yet I still end with the most of those points lol. Like in Voidstar, I try to mvp bomb setters or defenders, you can tell who is actually trying to win the match vs who is trying to get kills despite being by the door. The ones who try to win are the ones who pay attention to incoming enemies and will stun/snare/cc/interrupt said person instead of just doing damage to them, while someone else is trying to plant the bomb.
  24. Twinking actually has other positive effects to the community. Obviously it's bad for players who are undergeared or too low level currently though lol. However, it stimulates the ingame economy. Crafters would see a larger demand for mod items and epic pieces. This would especially be the case if further bracketing were possible or plausible. Then there's the obvious less expertise stat to worry about compared to 50s. Sure it's there for pre-50, but it is far more manageable for the leveling bracket.
