  1. I leave when I gotta poop. I think that's justified.
  2. Actually playing a Powertech (at least tank spec) requires some know how of PvP tactics if you expect to do well.
  3. It's a sad state that Comm/Mercs are in. I only "lol grav spam" when someone actively comes after me primarily in a WZ. So easy to shutdown, yet they keep coming lol. Grav/Tracer users should be back line, too vulnerable otherwise. The problem though is the debuff coupled with the high damage and relatively quick cast time. If Comms/Mercs are played as a backline (in combination with the horrid targeting system), the opposition is quickly killed off because of Grav/Tracer spamming. At least half the time, those spammers are equally, if not more of a threat than healers. In terms of group play. Mind you in those cases, that locking down / interrupting Grav/Tracer shuts them out for a while so you can focus on the healer, it also means a "wasted" interrupt or stun.
  4. Not a Merc/Com or anything, but I like to /taunt, /yawn, /golfclap, /dance, and occasionally /kiss the other team in general. I've made a lot of enemies on Empress Teta... but that might just be because I dress differently. Used to be dressed as a Juggernaut (hood and and mask) with other BH gear on my Powertech tank before it hit 50, and currently destroying people as the only fat Sorc healer wearing a child's sized spacesuit and helmet. I think it gets frustrating to the other team that such a ridiculously looking player (referring to my healer) tends to end at #1-2 with 0-1 death usually lol. Ah it's fun to be annoying in a way that isn't exactly trolling.
  5. As someone who never experienced it firsthand before the nerf, I feel it is unbiased when I say that I find Biochem to be VERY good. Three reasons immediately come to mind. 1) You have access to reusable meds/stims that just all around help. 2) Crafted implants can be nice to have access to for those who take the time. 3) It gets people used to a "Use" function in and out of combat. Now the 3rd one is very good, as it can potentially make the player better at the game. This is assuming said person isn't already used to doing things with the "Use" type function.
  6. Maybe people just never made a good impression (personally and playstyle wise), but I actually became fairly well known among some folks with the x-realm in WoW. Sometimes after joining a group as tank/heals, I'd see "Yay, we have good a good heal/tank finally" and other such comments. In PvP, I'd become recognized by (mostly) Horde players on my Alliance toons that either had a grudge or just enjoyed going 1v1 with me. It was obvious usually due to how they would ONLY target me, regardless of what role I might have taken. Now granted that those sorts of things happen far more often without x-realm feature, but does that REALLY matter? I saw someone use the excuse that you will be able to easily find those who ninja/whatever, but you'll encounter those types of people regardless. IMO, waiting a long time for a group, only to end with a problematic player, is far more devastating than encountering it through an x-realm feature. This is mainly due to the fact that you'll likely be able to just go right back into a dungeon to try again, instead of waiting a long time or just giving up without the feature. To me, the majority of people against x-realms are just trying to cloud the fact they want e-peen recognition. A positive feature is a positive feature. The biggest issue is if you just want to be the popular kid on the block. Instead of just dealing with a small town, you'll have to deal with a major city.
  7. I'm starting to miss this a little bit. But $#(* that stupid billing system. It works fine for me, but I hate the idea of doing 3rd party billing.
  8. While valid, I find little meaning behind this sort of statement about giving it time. I STILL see it coming from fanboys of FFXI and WoW. Those games are nearing 10yrs old. Their defense being that MMO's always change and you always need to give it time. Which in reality, is an endless (stale) argument lol.
  9. This is one of the reasons I don't spend the extra money (unless it's within $10 sometimes) for CE versions of games. If a company really wants to add stuff to the game or purchase, whether it be for the sake of immersion or otherwise, they'd just add it in by default. Take for example Skyward Sword, which by default gave those who purchase the game the soundtrack regardless of which version you bought. Another example would be Ni-No-Kuni for the DS (Japanese import), which by default gives the consumer a highly detailed encyclopedia modeled and designed after what you would expect to see in the game universe. That one was clearly for the immersion point, as it's necessary for game progression. In some aspect for this game, you can consider the free addition of the artifact tier low level crystal that's available for any version, an act along the lines of what I previously mentioned. It seems a bit too "meh" though IMO, given how it really doesn't do much for you by the time you'd use it.
  10. While this is a highly subjective statement, as is my own, I have to disagree. FFXI, in terms of MMO story, has one of the best storylines I've ever encountered. Hell, it's better than many non-MMO games' story personally.
  11. I sorta hit that roadblock around 40s. PvP was my main enjoyment in the game. Friends barely play ever since high 30s, so that part of the fun went right out the window lol. As soon as my BH hit 50, I just... stopped. PvP sorta lost its glamor because of its current state, namely as a fresh 50. I haven't run any ops or higher lvl flashpoints, I just lost interest in many aspects of the game from a while before 50 unfortunately. My account is still active, I don't mind supporting them for another month. I do that for many monthly fee games I play. I think it's also due to other RL stuff that I don't play right now, but my dwindling interest from before didn't help lol. I'm pleased with the purchase and money spent thus far, but things like how BW separates maint and patch downtimes, just loses points for me. Scoring this game out of 10, I'd give it a solid 7 for the game itself as it is. If we incorporate other things outside of just the game, like my previously mentioned dislike, the purchase gets a 6/10. I am also keeping in mind that the game is still new. Hence why I'm not mentioning other things like the UI and bugs.
  12. It's more along the lines that Bioware decided it was a good idea to seperate patch downtime from maintenance downtime. There aren't many companies that do that, especially with MMOs being fairly mainstream now. To their defense, it allows for a less devastating use of additional downtime on various other days, because of how it should be a normal expectation. But I don't think they realize that people do remember poor decisions far easier from good. Multiple days a week downtime as their best course of action, it definitely falls into the poor decisions category lol.
  13. Technically though that would mean you wouldn't have put that effort into it if things weren't such a gear grind. You'd be on level with those who currently haven't. No entitlement there lol.
  14. This translates to doing it for attention lol.
  15. I understand what you mean, but I really never cared for this statement. Many people use this to refer to gear. You better your characters gear, sure, but you're not improving yourself (literally) if being on even grounds with someone results in your consistent loss. My powertech has, in a pathetic way, kind of earned the "Republic's Most Wanted" title. Since it was in the 20s, I've destroyed other players of all levels. This is including level 50s (not full BM ones mind you). The average PvP player (this obviously includes those in BM gear) is horrible at the game. They just rely on gear to get the kills for them, rather than actually playing well. Players like that, regardless of the valor grind, will always be that way. Improvement outside of gear only happen in a very minor sense usually, nothing spectacular. If you didn't learn how to play better by the time you hit maybe valor 40, you probably won't improve much continuing to do what you do. That being said, I honestly would rather there not be gear in question with PvP. Rely upon your wits and reaction time. I guess that would piss off the majority though (the people who rely on gear). It would be awesome if there were some sort of a gladiator or whatever type of pvp system, where you're forced to abide by the equipment rules allowed. People are basically even in terms of gear.
  16. You obviously don't know how to have fun in video games, particularly MMO PvP. Or maybe you're just playing a class that just really isn't for you. Not all classes are ideal for everything. Not all classes are ideal to be ball carriers in Huttball (thats not to say you'll never make a score regardless). Learn what your class can do and what it excels at, then learn how well you can apply that knowledge. Thinking is hard for some, I realize this, but if you can't take it, I suggest you don't try it.
  17. Your demands, while probably will happen at some point, aren't things that can magically happen overnight. They have a hard enough time dealing with the current issues that don't revolve around pvp queues. It will be a while. You have the option to play your character... it's not like BW locks your character away until queue time is up. If all you want to do is pvp, that's your choice, but a lot of people don't care for it too much at 50 because of its current state. Many PvPers reroll to other servers or start another toon and pvp in the 10-49 bracket. Which many people consider far more enjoyable than the gear dependent 50s bracket. If you still refuse to either put up with it, reroll servers, or start another toon, then "QQ moar" till they address this. You have options, and you have a choice, BW doesn't need to hold your hand through it until it's taken care of.
  18. It's destroyed much of the games released these days. Most mainstream developers rather release the games right away, even with bugs that end up not letting you beat the game, than to release something polished. Simply because they can release patches to fix whatever bugs they didn't really test for.
  19. The OP was an example of how times have generally changed. Those days, people actually didn't mind the group mentality as much as they do now. Probably because MMOs have attracted the types of players who previously would refuse to even fathom the idea of taking time to play a game with no end.
  20. Technically everything you do in a game is optional. And the difficulty should be in reference to the content rather than the players lol.
  21. I wouldn't really say calculated. Though I guess in comparison to most developers up to this point, I suppose that word is fitting. Kudos to them.
  22. Actually yes. If they take the ignore approach, eventually people lose faith and negative criticism/PR ensues. That's not to say they should be responding to everything, nor taking into account everything people say as serious, but if enough people find it a problem, they need to rethink things for a possible compromise. Not everything can be compromised, but obvious effort and response goes a long way in keeping consumer faith intact.
  23. Only because these people don't like to cry for buffs with what they have. Or in the case of folks like the OP, probably don't even have maxed out. They'd rather play the victim than realize what they have is simply underpowered and in dire need of help.
  24. If you truly believe the grass is greener with Biochem, then why not take it up? Even if they were to nerf the healing (which really wouldn't make sense if you looked at what the reusables pre-artifact quality is), it would still save you a ton of money. Difference being, those people who use it now, would just be gimping themselves and your raid if it was nerfed noticeably. No point in taking up Biochem if it isn't at least on-par with whats available. Being able to make the medpacks is just literally a time-sink with no real benefits because of the duration it takes to make them. Not to mention acquiring the mats usually requires you to go get them yourself as well, as the GTN for most servers won't have a consistent stock. Selling those medpacks on the GTN is pointless, since credits really isn't a concern at 50.
  25. Our shredder at work says differently. Although that's not a wheel... but it still squeeks damn it.
