i have no idea why  @JackieKo  didn't make an official  forum post from Broadsword  here ( maybe too busy i dunno )  to CONGRATS  all  'Best View' winners , but yeah just in case anyone missed the  clicky within today's game Launcher-->  https://www.swtor.com/info/news/article/20231127

Annnnddd , for me personally, this is now 3rd year in a row  i'm taking the L  with  NONE of my submitted  screenshots being chosen.  ( *Even though my 'Oricon' pic was at least in the finalist group few ) .   Anyways, now that the contest is over and SWTOR will probably end for me in 2024 , here's my  2023  non-selected photos for your viewing  pleasure:

( Once again, i made the foolish mistake of trying to capture a unique  area of each planet , instead of doing what most of the winners did by just keeping a very basic simple "vista" :( )

Clearing up a misconception here! This is a community run event, and it is one that is now entering its third year. The frames were done and built in the first year so the only lifting done on the tea

I like the screenshot contest. Community activities should be heavily encouraged, we need more of them. What about an outfit contest or a stronghold contest? Or even a PvP tournament event?

Been running around a lot behind the scenes, so thanks for posting the update!

Believe me, every year it's been difficult for the team to select winners. Every submission was so good. :)  I hope everyone shares their Best View images here!

All contests have winners and losers.  Some will be happy and others will not.  Contests involving creative content probably lead to more frustration as, unlike contests with clear scoring, you are left with not knowing why you lost or what you could do different to be more competitive next time.  I think announcing the top 5 for each planet was a positive change and in some small measure gave a win to 5 people per planet instead of just one.  The top 5 video was also well done.  I also did not win, nor did I even reach the top 5 so will just have to wait for the next contest.

Also, I saw some users talk about third year, but I follow every event since end of 2019 and the first view contest was 2022 afaik

Hello there, nice job! No there wasn’t a video on 2022, this is a new thing they did this year where they also posted this video on the last livestream for  7.4 update! 

There has been 3 rounds of it so far. The first event was on 2021 here are the winners:

Anyways, congrats to all the winners, honored to have won this year with my Belsavis picture, I didn’t make it last year (didn’t participate on first one either) but made it on this one so everyone don’t give up if there’s another, keep trying! Already seeing some great pics here too, and I agree with Whykara, there’s some great views I didn’t even think of when looking at the pictures, is nice to see the variety.

Damn, I remember some names from year 1, that means I did the event three times and don't even remember it :ohno:

if its been difficult each year to select the winners why not add a special prize for the one's that not make it then since its then also fair if its hard to choose out from that the one's that not make it but are also nice and good get a special prize more.

Like silver decorations ? But then the winner will get the gold ones from winning, and the bronze ones at the vendor, but not the silver ones. That's not really nice for him since he won 😕

Pretty sure Jackie Ko already has more than work than she can handle but you want to add more anyway.

I can imagine that there were a lot of individuals who entered the contest every year and didn't win.  Not everyone can win, and most of the submissions are nice, so I can see how it can be hard to select a winner, and only one submission per planet can be chosen.

i not know about you but we give then all more and more work to do when we keep reporting the bugs each time or remember then about some bugs that need to fix so there is all to much work there get all on daily base from us.

same with the problems we keep reporting to then is also much and much work so to give then also a idea for something like that is not bad since we keep doing it all on a daily base.

and you know also good when you work for a MMO game you get always a lot of work to do and only become's more so thats notting new at all.

i not care what it is let then think about it what a fair special prize is for then.

and the good part is there have a full year to think about it if there wane do it or not.

I made the shortlist video they showed in the last Livestream (50.58) for the Oricon screenshots, but alas, I failed to win yet again 😭

Yeah it was cool to see my screenshot in the top 5 on the 7.4 dev stream^^

I don't think they revealed top 5 finalists for the previous 2 years they did Best View contest.

I know how frustrating it is to not make it though, i thought i had some very nice pics in 2022, but didnt make it then. This year i tried to send in pics that really showed the "essence" of the planets. Its still personal taste as well ofc as i saw some very beautifull pics that didnt make it that i liked better then the actual winning shots.

If you don’t mind me asking, I’m curious when you submitted your screen shot? If you scroll up to my original post, check out my Oricon. Pretty sure we were standing in the exact same spot but yours has a slightly different angle. Jackie mentioned the importance of submitting early so I was curious if you sent yours in first.
