Colow_Leper
WoW is the best mmorpg ever made, FACT I dont care about your touching look in to mmorpg´s WoW went its own way, made something epic WoW did not prove Instances, BG´s is the only way to go in to mmorpgs but rather, "have cojones and innovate and make something NEW" BG´s and instances arent really new anymore, There is no "role play" in it - so, the RPG bit is out - see the chat "Geiff gold now kk" etc. And it being the best is your opinion and, as such, has no validity in the discussion - if, in your opinion, it's the best MMO (RPG or otherwise) why are you here at all? Vid-szhite
Humans are predictable creatures. All those who did early release either are star wars fanboys or bioware fanboys. People who put alot of money and timeinto something tend to defend it even though they may really dislike it. Hmm... well, I actually really like it. I played on my brother's pre-release and then got my own account so now we both play the game. WoW is the best mmorpg ever made, FACT I dont care about your touching look in to mmorpg´s WoW went its own way, made something epic WoW did not prove Instances, BG´s is the only way to go in to mmorpgs but rather, "have cojones and innovate and make something NEW" BG´s and instances arent really new anymore, I thought WoW was nothing but genericsauce grinding, and yes I read the "stories." The whole thing felt bland and corny. Nothing could keep me playing WoW, not even though I started in Cata when all the cool things were happening. SWTOR takes what WoW did and makes it fun for me to play. I'm a part of a community, I enjoy playing my melee tank class even though I was forced to reroll him because of account issues, and the story has me hooked. The fact that BGs and instances aren't new is actually a good thing for me -- I feel like I already know how to play this game, so I'm not spending so much time learning and I'm spending all my time playing and having fun. The lack of autoattack meant nothing to me, since I played City of Heroes primarily, which has no autoattack. I feel like this game was made for me. WoW was the most financially successful MMORPG ever. Fact. The best, though? That's your opinion. Edited January 2, 2012 by Vid-szhite

Sephendrine
Bioware you managed to put FUN into an MMO. - Storylines that matter. - Character Development. - A game that starts at level 1 and not at the end-cap. - Balanced PvP. - Awesome combat (say goodbye to button smashing) - Companions that actually do something. From an old-time gamer I salute you. Agree 100%. Ignore all the curmudgeons.
Vid-szhite
is it an mmo or an mso, as in massively single player online game. That's what WoW was to me, even though there were millions of people online at any one time. The game is what you make of it. Just the other day I saw a guy advertising his purple crafts in trade chat. They were good ones for my level, so I bought some. Then I made more money and bought some more. Now the guy is on my friends list so I'll remember him next time I need a new hilt. It's little things like that that make you enjoy the multiplayer part of the game. jinxsters
I beg to differ on the button smashing. You may not button smash quickly in this game because of quick combat, but you do button smash because you can't get the timing down on your moves with the responsiveness flaw in the game mechanics. then u have no clue on how ur class works the only problem i have is i never know when all thehealers are healen
Kaptainne
people say, "it's too much like WoW," then, "WoW is better because....." I played WoW relentlessly almost from the start, and I am still able to take this game as new. Very much enjoying it.....

Morcova
Never played WoW huh? nothing screams lazy like waiting in a capital city for a queue for ALL endgame activities. Right because sitting on a station with portals to all endgame activities 30 yards away is totally different.

From an old-time gamer I salute you. This has to be a troll. The first two items on that list have nothing to do with gaming. The second is just a nice way of saying there's no end-game content. The third and fourth are flat out lies. And the last is... well... nothing new to MMOs.
Klarick
is it an mmo or an mso, as in massively single player online game. It is most assuredly an MMO. The SWTOR guild I am in has reached 500 members. We actually have 3 Empire guilds and 1 Republic guild. The one empire guild Im in has reahed 500, im not sure of the other sister guild numbers. But yeah, this is an MMO. Edited January 2, 2012 by Klarick

ninjashadowdark
Seriously? Its hard to put "fun" in to a "MMO" ? wow did it, eq did it, gw did it, alot of mmorpgs did have "fun" Storyline that matters? i kinda just want gear, epic end game instances, and awesome pvp gear.. i dont need storyline I still smash buttons Companions are boring You really try hard to find something epic about this game, which proves how more it fails if you don't like it then this game is not for you

Matte_Black
I feel like this the MMO many old-school tabletop gamers have been waiting for. It takes parts from current MMOs and puts them together in a familiar, story-based format. I can see where newer generation video-game-only players miss what they have grown accustomed to but, for me and my crusty old gamer friends love it and have been having a ball. As a trooper, even when I'm trying to get ammo back I have to keep hitting hammer shot over and over. Edited January 15, 2012 by Shillen
