  1. ya, that. In SWG it seemed like everything you did had a purpose. You could set up a camp in the middle of nowhere and people could come there to heal up. That is just one thing. I've played MMO's forever and the Pre-CU days of SWG were BY FAR the most enjoyable gaming time I have ever had.
  2. Yep, played WoW heavily from the time SWG launched the CU and ruined my life to about 8 months ago. Just burned out on it. Liking SWG but I am just not nearly the MMO addict I once was. The side effect is I realized real life is actually interesting.
  3. yep, I have a level 31, a 26, a 20, and a few others in the teens. Just enjoying it. I think it says something good about the game that I don't feel the need to rush.
  4. I don't think I am anti-social, but I like soloing most of the time. I tend to do other things at the same time like watch TV with family, chat with friends, etc. I think everyone has a different style. My wife and I sit next to other and both play and we don't even group up much lol. I don't think MMO means you have to group up to play. In WoW I did a lot of raiding with the guild, several nights a week. That is cool but I also like to just go it alone. I really liked LOTRO when it came out, but after a certain level you were basically forced to group to continue the story. I am SO glad SWTOR did not do things that way.
  5. I don't think that is what the OP meant by "open." As I play I get the feeling of many good possibilities in the future for the game. That is what I think he is saying. It's funny that the OP is accused of being "biased." I guess we are all biased by our opinions. The grumblers on this forum are clearly "biased" My bias comes from the fact that I am having a lot of fun in the game and very impressed with it overall. So, based on that, I am "biased."
  6. Ya, same here. I never had the issue and wondered what people were talking about until the last patch. Now it is pretty obvious. Worse at some times than others....
  7. Yep, chalk me, my wife, son, and two son-in -laws up as people who are really happy with the game as well.
  8. 8/10 and I only go that low because I can envision it getting much better. I think they have started out with a great game but the potential is amazing, as long as they don't give in to the voices telling them to dumb it down as they go.
  9. I and three others in my immediate family all love this game and have been playing it heavily. Now a number of our friends are buying it and joining up. I think the numbers will rise steadily for quite a while and subscriptions will not be falling off at any great rate as some have suggested. Personally, I can't even imagine playing WoW at this point, but that doesn't mean it is a bad game. We just played it into the ground since just after launch. I think any game you play that long is going to get a little tiresome. I do think WoW fell victim to the "give all the whiners everything they ask for" plague which made for all classes seeming too similar. I truly hope SWTOR does not go down that road.
  10. absolutely not going to cancel. My wife and I love the game.
  11. I used Recount all the time in WoW, and I can see both sides of the issue here. I did not see it abused very often since I raided and ran instances primarily with our guild and RL friends. The more often abused add-on by far, in my opinion, was Gearscore. A person can have good gear and still do poorly and to some degree, a person with lesser gear can overachieve. GS was the most common tool for jerks to kick or reject people arbitrarily. If any addon is allowed in this game, I would probably say it should be something like recount. I just fear that may open the door to things like GS and DBM, which in my opinion really hurt the game experience. If something like recount is offered, I hope it is developed in-house. Just my 2 cents.....
  12. I would prefer that they just work on developing better interface options in-house and not allow third party add-ons. If they do allow add-ons I hope they strictly limit them to things that only effect the interface. DBM, GS, etc. are a detriment to game design overall IMHO
  13. Chalk me up as another one who just hasn't noticed it. Long time MMO player from SWG for years and five level 85 toons on WoW. I just don't see the delay here. When others started talking about it on here I have tried to see it. Maybe my eyes have slow reflexes
  14. not crazy about GW1, not too hopeful for GW2. Really enjoying this game so far. Hope GW2 works out for you......have fun
