DarthWoad
Yeah, they can do them when youre offline, and will finish them in under an hour! Im currently level 400 treasure hunting (easy to do) and the class 6 lockboxes take about 40 minutes to complete. Now I go to bed and sleep for about 7 or 8 hours, when I come back on here theyre already waiting for me, and were done about 7 hours ago. I think they need to be longer times, with better rewards. Eve online you can train your skills and can take like 3 weeks to complete. Learn from this. Also I never said this game should have 3 week training times. Im using it as an example that missions should take longer to do with better rewards Edited December 30, 2011 by DarthWoad
Darekar
i am not really interested in waiting 3 week for my crew just be happy its easy to lvl and do
Raximillian
This is not EVE, nor do I want it to be anything like EVE. Edit: Just adding a few more words. Edited December 30, 2011 by Raximillian
Demontang
Then everyone will be 400/400/400 in a matter of days, not weeks (granted they'd also be broke). What's the point then? If they can queue missions like EvE did training, there'd be no gaps in learning times. Personally, I never liked the "have the game play without you" model. It meant my in-game time was actually productive.

Comradebot
This is not EVE... And thank god for that. Sorry OP, but I LOVE the current crew skill system. Adjusting it so "they're working even longer while I'm offline" would be ridiculous since it'd have a huge negative effect on those who want to keep sending their people out while they're playing, not to mention how awesome it is to be able to periodically log into an alt, send THEIR crew out, and then go back to playing with a different character. But again, this isn't EVE.
Raximillian
get out Don't want to. I'm happy here. Maybe you can go try EVE? You seem to like the off-line gaming, EVE has plenty.

Shillen
Seems to me that EVE should learn from SWTOR. This guy wants to wait 3 weeks for his npc to come back. Haha.
Aurelus
See, the problem is you're sleeping too much. If you slept for one hour intervals, you could log on, set up your companion ques and go back to sleep. You would get alot more done in 7-8 hours using this method, instead of sleeping all the way through you lazy bum. Really, we shouldnt need to tell you this. Ujest
What are you complaining about? You have a problem with your crew being able to complete missions while you are asleep? Why? What do you propose, the system they have in Eve? Why? I don't want to see a crew mission(s) take weeks in real time. Unless, it is for a new bigger, badder D5. Even then, I don't want it to take weeks, maybe at most 1 week.

Lily
I would be willing to bet that at some point in the future we get an iOS/android ap that allows us to sent them on missions when we are offline.

Ranid
Who is to say that the missions won't get progressively longer when expansions come out with higher crew skill scores and missions, the level cap is raised. I think they should cap the missions by current level though. It seems odd that I am doing level 50 missions at level 20 and they are not failing. I am sure someone will complain that I make this statement though.
kyrinthic
Eve skill training is spiffy for what it is, an alternative to a exp/level system. Sending crew out on skill missions is not the same thing. 3 weeks is just silly. Also there are skills that take even longer than that to train in eve. Even so, I would support a 'long' mission that was an occasional option for an 8 hour or 24 hour mission, so long as there were interesting rewards from it. But I would think it would need to be in the flavor of the 'unlocked and run once' thing rather than a 'this is what everyone runs when they go to bed / go out of town'. Remember also that when your crewman is on a mission, you cant have them in your party for adventuring, which can be a problem if you send out all your people for long missions. There's no reason a level 20 should be looting stuff for a level 50 and when you're at level 50 it doesn't keep you from power leveling a profession. Max level professions should be a privilege for those who have maxed their level. As it is now, I can roll a bunch of level 10s and have 400 in all possible crew skills. Kookus
Yes, let's substitute the epic feeling of this game in the form of hero-from-level-one with EVE's real-world training times. Everyone starts at Padawan, takes several years of study to become a Jedi, and never gets to do anything outside of controlled planets without a full fleet escort. /better have your instas...
