Around 30 million credits and I still can't win the Gamorrean Guard companion

This year is my first time running the Nar Shadda Nightlife event. Even though its a huge credit sink, being an achievement hunter, I HAVE to do the content.

I think I have sunk around 30 million credits into this event and have won the Wraith speeder 4 times. The rest of the achievement items were purchased with certificates as I have not been able to win them.

All well and good, but for some reason, the damned Gamorrean Guard companion eludes me. I hear players winning it big all around me every minute. Why do the RNG gods hate me?

The event as I understand it: buy Smugglers Luck Chips and play the Smuggler's Luck machine until you get the "Feeling Lucky" buff, then run over to a Kingpin Slot machine and insert your hugely expensive Kingpin chips until you win. As I said earlier, I have only won the wraith speeder and enough certificates to buy the achievement items.

My thought would be that if the outer arrow lines up perfectly with the inner arrow, you should win one of the achievement items 100% of the time - just like getting 3 cherries to align in a slot machine spits out all that lovely coin... or whatever it is that gamblers play - I don't know I'm not really a gambler, but time and time again, I have seen this align properly only to win a Kingpin chip.

What gives?

and .001 chance to fry the slot machine.... which i did alot more then and never got mount.

It is a credit sink, not as much as it was before though, cause first time there was so coin being handed out from flashpoints

I managed to blow the machine up once, which is a slimmer chance than the companion, but oh, well! It is what it is.

Thanks

I think you might have used all your luck up, dude, lmao, because as you all probably know Murphy is a little beatch! :p

I don't think the luck o' the Irish, or that Leprechaun you need is around. 30 Million is more than enough to spend to me, but, then again that's just me heheh.

Are you actually Buying The kingpin coins from the vendor, instead of winning them from Smuggler's luck?!?

Don't do that.

😎

It's only June. By August i bet we'll see sooo many more posts like this. Lol.

I really hope the post Stats of total credits paid in vs. total prizes paid out.

Spent 4 million won 2 mounts and 2 pigs and walked away. Came back the second day spent 20 million got 4 mounts. Came back a few days later spent 30 million and got 4 mounts. I get the same kind of luck with cartel packs in that I only get the super rare item if I buy the hyper crate the day it comes out.

Call me crazy but I feel they can adjust the odds behind the scenes real time. 'Oh no everyone is winning companion pigs, okay better make the odds more difficult'. Again call me crazy.........

Sorry to hear your troubles. I spent tens of millions and never won the Rancor. This year I've bought a total of 400 Smuggler coins and have won 2 Gamorrean Guards...though I've only gotten 4 Golden Certificates.

RNG can be so weird...and frustrating.

The slot machine exploding and the associated title is really the rarest drop? Wow. I've only spent maybe 800,000 credits so far and have had that happen three times, the first time while playing on my first stack of tokens. No Gamorrean or Vectron Wraith yet though...

Funny how the RNG dice rolls work out.

Just to annoy the OP ( :) ) - I've spent around 1 to 1.5 million credits and I've gotten about 25 golden certificates , 2 Wraith Speeders and 1 Gamorrean Guard.

I wish the Guard was sell-able on the GTN - I'm not likely to ever actually use it (other than to show off).

Edit - after using the Guard for a bit, I think I'll be using it fairly often. It acts as a melee-healer much like Lana and seems to work quite well. Plus, the gunslinger I'm using it with had ranged Risha (and Kalyo) as it's 50 influence crafter/companions, but a melee type healer seems to work better in some cases.

I actually think that would be super interesting, and kinda fun/neat to see! It would also count as "BW interaction" which Keith (and Eric) has been doing so well as of recent! Maybe one of them, or both, could post how their luck has been?

I've won two mounts this go around, no pig and exploded the machine once on Smuggle machines. In previous events, I had won all mount including 2 Rancors and had previously exploded a machine.

I don't particularly want the pig, but I will casually go for it throughout the summer for the achievement. Thus far in this event, I have probably spent less than 4 million; all of it on Smuggler Chips.

I hate you :p:D This it the only event achievement I wanted. I've given up now. I have to rl friends that I play with and all three of us got the gammo companion (within the first couple of days of the event), yet none of us got the Rancor or explosion. RNG can be evil.

This particular mini game rewards patience over spending a lot of money. However, it can be mind boggling if you stand there clicking too long. The casinos need some other activities to break it up.

Hmm... since Pazaak is likely a long way off, I wonder if they could add like a buffet, pun not intended but funny, with consumables or a mission that give buffs specific to the low drops from the machines? Right now getting certs faster is the only thing sped up by dropping a lot of money. He could even be a hide in seek kind of thing.

A buffing consumable will spawn around the casino and if you find one you get the buff. Or you could have a vendor that sells you a machine to "fix" the drops. It'll buff you but if you get caught Grenk will explain the house rules to you... Maybe even put security on patrol, make a mini game of it. XD

I agree.

I play 200 tokens per day, or 30 minutes.. which ever comes first ... whatever I win, I win. I play for the certificates. This morning, 120 of 200 coins into it and I have won a Gamorrean (my 4th one now), two Wraith mounts, and no certificates.

Nice idea about the buff, and who knows they might add something for the next nightlife event. :D This one is, an improvement from the last, after all.

Pazaak could work, but only if their were NPCs that ranged in difficulty, maybe even with a credit reward each time?

PVP pazaak could be a little sticky, though, so yeah that likely won't ever happen.

Simply make it sellable, I'm ok with selling it for 10m.

While I understand why people want this, it isn't going to happen. Why? Because this whole event is designed to be a credit sink. They want to take fake monies out of the game economy. That's why they made all the rewards from the event legacy bound--to make sure everyone who want the rewards are burning up their credits spinning the RNG wheel. If they allowed people to sell jackpot items such as the companion or the mount? That would still take some credits out of the economy, but not nearly as much. Not to mention making everything legacy bound prevents the RMT people from just setting up bots to play the virtual slots all day to resell the rewards for cash.
