Dev Post EricMusco Posted January 12, 2016 Dev Post Share Posted January 12, 2016 Hey folks, As you may have seen in my post yesterday, it is was our plan to reveal our theory around what is happening right now with GTN searches. Additionally, to let you know what information we would like to have you provide to help us isolate the issue. First, what is happening? Well, we believe that when the servers come online, they are pulling a random selection of items which cannot be searched on the GTN. All of these items are still present, and can be navigated to via their individual sections. However, search does not work for those items. Additionally, the items that are selected seem to be random, and are not consistent by server. Example, you may be able to search for a Dathomir Rancor on the Harbinger, but cannot on The Shadowlands. For this reason, we did not want to put out the full theory yesterday, as we didn’t want any of you to start tracking the GTN search habits before we brought the servers up this morning. Based on this information, any information you tracked prior to today is unfortunately no longer usable as your server’s search habits have changed. Here is what we are looking for. Please let us know the following: What item are you unable to find via search?What server are you on? Two very important notes on this information: Make sure to note which server you are on. If you have characters on multiple servers, please separate this information. We do believe that different items will be unsearchable on different servers.Please do not report any items which you could not search prior to today. We believe the items that you cannot search for will have changed with the maintenance that occurred this morning. Neglience Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) This bug is going on for 6? weeks and i admit, i am no programmer and i also have no clue about it, but i managed to come up with your "theory" on myself after a few days of the bug. So for me, BW has basically no idea what is causing the bug. Server Vanjervalis Chain - Advanced Accuracy Augment 40 - not searchable after todays patch, it was before. Edit: After some time at the GTN, the last restart increased the number of non-searchable items by around 500%. MillionsKNives Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 I'm glad you guys are looking into this but really, that's all you got? Your full theory is basically just what everyone has already been telling you for weeks. Things can't be searched but can be found in the full list, the items seem to be random and change when the server restarts, and the items are different per server. We knew this. Also, I know that you're not technical, nor are you trying to address us with the technical details, but describing it as a "pulling a random selection of items which cannot be searched" sounds completely backwards. Unless you guys have an exclusion list that's being improperly populated for some reason. More likely my guess would be that when the server is pulling in the index of items for searching it's somehow missing a bunch of stuff. Could be as simple as a call to the database that returns an unordered set of items, and for some reason it's being truncated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Any1 read that part!? cause im no expert but Augmentation Kit MK-8 was broken prior and FYI most of the 'non-searchable' items are very much searchable if you put part of the name n as well sometimes the GTN just glitches and basically freezes n wont let you search at all - this shouldnt count either cause thats player influenced not so much a major bug when u glitch the GTN out itself - if that happens reset GTN n research The list is so big now after todays update it is mind boggling to ask whole community to help bug fixing. Still i wish good luck to dev team figuring this bug out in coming months. Jedi Covenant seems to be mostly ok though, most of what is being reported as broken other servers is fine on JC. The ones that I've come across so far (Server T3-M4): - Subelectronic Data Module - Advanced Neural Augmentor - Upari Artifice Bonded Atachement - Upari Synth Bonded Atachement - Adaptive Circuitry - Spectre's Helmet I've also checked that every one of those items is actually listed in the GTN, through the other method of finding them, because it could be that 0 results is actually correct when none are listed. SAFFER_Kommando Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) I've only been searching for Hilts for lvl60+ without success, then searched for Barrles and found Hilts between the Barrels. I also noted that some hilts like Advanced Resistive Hilt for lvl64 has no number like 42 or 43 etc. So it seems their type is mixed up as Barrels. It also seems to me it only applies to new items added in KoTFE i.e. lvl60+ ... did not test extensively though. They will probably forget to fix your server. Anyway, a couple of items I could not search were the SoroSuub mount (That red/gray *****-like thing), Snowtrooper's Chestplate, ALL of the Jetpack's variations (I'm 100% sure the #9 is not showing up for me, others 90% sure) other random stuff I don't remember. Avaril Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 More info if it helps - Red Eclipse For Augmentation Kits, if you search on Augmentation, Augmentation Kit or just Kit you can see up to Augmentation Kit -6, but do not see any level 7 or 8 kits. However, if you select Miscellaneous, then order the search by name, around 30 pages in you get level 7 kits, and 10 pages later level 8 kits. Its the same with other items, for example the JT-9 Jetpack, If you search on MSM or Jetpack you see the JT-2 and JT-37 variants, but you only find JT-9 by going to Mounts and looking through the list 1 page at a time.
