Going through the hundreds of pages just on mount selection I found several of the jetpacks that were not listed when I searched for the item specifically. Your full theory is basically just what everyone has already been telling you for weeks. Things can't be searched but can be found in the full list, the items seem to be random and change when the server restarts, and the items are different per server. We knew this. Also, I know that you're not technical, nor are you trying to address us with the technical details, but describing it as a "pulling a random selection of items which cannot be searched" sounds completely backwards. Unless you guys have an exclusion list that's being improperly populated for some reason. More likely my guess would be that when the server is pulling in the index of items for searching it's somehow missing a bunch of stuff. Could be as simple as a call to the database that returns an unordered set of items, and for some reason it's being truncated. this to me seems exactly whats going on a database of items that sis not being called upon when searching so when you list the item in the GTN it will show if it is in one Database but if it is in the other not so much - tbh it could be as simple as the Database is labelled wrong so it dosent know to pull it or the database name isnt on the list for searching utility packets - could u imagine f this whole issue is the items names have "_" in them and the ID has Spaces xD Edited January 12, 2016 by Dawnscar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This bug has been going on for 6 weeks and just now they've noticed it. If I were in charge of Bioware, I'd replace the whole dev team. LadyHF Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Shadowlands: It seems here only some of the speeders are broken, at least from all the things that everyone posted, everything else can be searched here by name-which is wierd-yes mk-8 kits can be searched too, even if you type in the whole name. The ones that are deffinietly broken: MSM JT-9 Jetpack-there are a million of these on the GTN if you look under mounts, but when you search by name none show up Jungle Gundark dasta colossus hyrotii racer moonlight vrake roche ice cat this is after 15 pages of speeder out of 204, when i am more in the mood i will continue. BTW, maybe its just a typo here, but : Encased Warhead Sockpile-should be stockpile and from one of the first posts: Upari Artifice Bonded Atachement-should be attachment, no e before the m, and 2 t's not saying that they couldn't be broken, but maybe it was a typo on GTN too Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not enough characters in the word? A couple of ongoing observations, though haven't tested them out much today... Crafting materials/crafted items requiring 350+ crafting/gathering/missions feel like they have a higher chance of not showing up on a GTN search. Cartel Market items that were introduced after 4.0.2 have a higher chance of not showing up with the search. Partial name searching does not yield a search result on items that do not pull up when a full name search is performed. After server restart, some items show up for a couple of days and then stop being searchable. The items that do not appear searchable, between server restarts, appear to be consistent (even the ones that fall into the category of what I mentioned above that stop being searchable after a few days) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or maybe look in whatever system you use for entries related to changes in gtn code between before and after the bug? Hopefully you have this kind of system in place, small and medium open source projects written by a single person already have them. So if you don't, it might be a good opportunity to convince the people upstairs to migrate to a system of your choice, that you can use to track and control changes in code.
