I applied to Penumbral after browsing through several guilds because they struck me as active and diverse. I like to be immersed in a story even though I don't really participate in role play, and theirs is of a group who's dedication is to personal development rather than blind loyalty to the empire or republic. Forum chat is friendly and helpful. It's easy to see that they have had a sense of family for a long time. If you're looking for a home that is both serious and relaxed, Penumbral is a place to seriously consider. I'm looking for a friendly guild that actually has an active chat and has fun hanging out while playing. I'm also really into RP, but it seems like everything on the Imperial side follows the whole "start as a acolyte, go through trials, etc" which I'm just not that into anymore. It's too overdone. We have a wonderful RP team that steps up to the plate every week and make in organized guild roleplaying events with storylines with multiple endings, that our members decide on through their actions. We use a /roll 20 system for determining the success of actions during an RP. Be it a 2 on 1 fight for your life gladiator combat RP (last week) or taking part in a Mission Impossible group spy mission as last night was. Every week, organized RP in addition to the roleplaying you can find in our guild daily and nightly. Saturdays will soon see the return of the Grotto, a server social event that our guild will host on a weekly basis. This was (and is still requested) a huge event Penumbral put on every Saturday in a stronghold for both Empire and Republic (and now I guess Alliance and Zakuul) to get together and have fun ICly! Up to 4 groups, filled with fellow guildies playing out story lines makes up for an amazing story night every Friday. Members are tasked with molding the story to their own, making each week their own when presented with a task. We also take pride in our talented PvPers, particularly our GSF fighters (when it pops...)! In Operations, our environment is casual and full of laughs. We are currently running both EST and PST teams throughout the entire week. It is the best place to begin to grow if you're interested in obtaining gear and starting off your raiding career! Forcer, non-forcer or are you uncertain because you never RPed before and don't know where to begin? Are you a stalwart defender of the Republic, an ambitious Sith Lord, or maybe a spacer out to live free and make some credits? If you're into RP and want a place accepting of most, or are interested in RP but unsure of where to begin, Penumbral is that kind of guild. I have limited experience in Rp, mainly as a Mandalorian and a Republic soldier from my time being in MEU and Clan Thetes and then later Clan Fenris. Friday evening and Saturday evening are our primary RP nights. PvP is held Sun and Thursday evening with PvE operations held on Tuesday and an early AM raid team for raiders who stay up late. Also on my application, I put in the wrong alt key code on my toon's name where its Kàlast(alt 133) instead of it being Kálast(alt 0225). Aeetoos Posted April 2, 2016 Share Posted April 2, 2016 Our guild remains consistent, every week putting out organized RP for our members. Last night was Friday, which has been one of our biggest nights for years. 20+ RPers turnout at 9PM EST on our guildship and assemble in the briefing room. From there our guild's Dungeon Masters and Story Writers present a briefing in character as to what the main goal is - think Star Wars and the original trilogy. When you have Leia and other Rebel leaders telling the troops whats up and what they need to do, that kind of thing. 20+ RPers, consistently, then our broken into four teams each either their individual mission objective - all working towards a larger goal. Using the D20 system they will encounter anything from combat to diplomacy to stealthy slicing - Penumbral does it all. In addition we have what you might call roleplaying sects (we call them lore departments). Some are for combat, others for exploring the galaxy for ancient artifacts, one is for secret agent spy roleplaying, and the list goes on. Each of these lore departments are active and regularly put out their own missions. Whether your's light side or dark, force sensitive or non-force sensitive there is a place for you in Penunmbral's ranks.
