  1. Hope im not late to the party. Personally, many of the systems and ideas presented are fantastic sounding. Many of which reminded me of a simple thought collection project i started a few years ago when SWTOR started slipping into being a more single player focused game(looking at you Alliance flashpoints/SoR). Now granted, what ive worked up is quite frankly: a)mainly just thoughts and ideas and b) very much an early, if not pre starting development stage of concept, but if anyone is interested in looking it over here is the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X9c1mYF7a-_HnqSDdRMB2xaEctDjwbCXxo2yzCvPIu4/edit?usp=sharing. For the record, i approached this from the perspective of it being in the original cannon, so there was no thought of it being set in the new cannon. While i made this just for fun and as a way to dream, the few people that i showed it too stated that there is promise. "Will it ever be used?", I highly doubt it, but its just a neat little fun exercise to dream about what could be. Also, i turned comments on so be free to nit-pick to your hearts content.
  2. I find it funny that most of the time i use GF, i always run into people who either a)think they are the greatest player(s) and feel they should tell you how to do your job and yet they are absolute crap or b)they are tanks and they suffer from what i call "tank immortality" syndrome where they feel that since there is a healer they can agro everything in sight and then berates everyone else for not "keeping up with him" and cause the entire team to wipe on about a 20npc mobs, i literally had someone say that to me once. I also find it funny that the people who fall into group a, the moment you try to helpfully correct them, they just go into a blind rage and then try to get you kicked.
  3. Really, the main thing that worries me is the RNG nature of the command packs. This game has become so much of an RNG "platform" for lack of a better term, that personally, im looking forward to the new crafting options we will be getting as well as the new direct purchases coming to the CM. Now i am really skeptical at the fact they are removing expertise since im a heavy pvper, though it is off set by them telling us they are removing it and making no such mention and then facing the backlash, looking at you planetary com vendors. Granted we wont really know how this will all play out until 5.0 drops, so the only things we can do is hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
  4. well the biggest issue is that alot of the class quest rewards like the Renegade Interceptor may no longer obtainable because of how BW implemented the new quest rewards for all quests. I say that because I just finished leveling a few toons and when i was supposed to get my orange quality weapon at the end of chapter 1 i never got them. So it could just be personal or it could be game wide but really, BW just screwed a lot of things up with 4.0.
  5. Sorry to hear your leaving us but quite honestly I understand. Ive got half a mind to quit right now because after chapter 16, there really is nothing to do. I think that one of the things that could save this game is if they brought in a lot of the sandbox elements there were in SWG Pre-NGE but granted they probably cant because the engine they are using which would either a) need to be replaced or b)need a full overhaul. I love Star Wars. I loved this game when i first started playing it. But the fact of the matter is, its become nothing but another cash cow essentially. The first 9 chapters of KOTFE were amazing, they were some of the best moments ive had in the game since the Revan fight. Heck i even liked the nostalgic factor of how they incorporated the old KOTOR style conversations with NPCs for the alliance alerts. But then it just became a bore fest except in a few instances one such being chapter 14 Mandalor's Revenge. I hope to see you sometime in game maybe at the point of which this game has become great again. All we can do is try to get the developer's to actually listen to us, but its their game, they can either make it great or continue to see it as nothing but a cash grab. Take care man and May the force be with you.
  6. Battlemaster doesnt come with the alliance crates. What does come from the alliance crates are the dreadguard, arkanian, underworld, yavin, and resurrected armor sets. I have no idea why they excluded Dread Forged and the Revanite armors, possibly they are going to do to them what they did to the old rakata and war hero armors and make a version of them craftable but at higher levels

    Im done

Believe what you will, its possible though its very rare and it requires an in-depth knowledge of the inner mechanics of what ever classes your going against. It also helped that the healer who was with them was kinda of inept, and most of the others were glass cannons.
  8. Omecrion

    Im done

Hey, its doable for non operatives but it is only feasible on a few classes such as guardian/jugg and vanguard/pt
  9. Omecrion

    Im done

The satisfaction of playing a different style with a spec that actually has a bit of a learning curve. Honestly i give more props to people who try to play specs that actually take a considerable amount of skill to try and make them viable. Such would be the annihilation spec for marauders and the pyrotech/innovative ordnance spec for powertechs/mercenaries if you can find a way to solve the heat problem. Because honestly those are the folks who deserve the real recognition in pvp because it is not easy to try and make those specs viable in pvp in its current state. Pre 3.0 annihilation maras were wrecking machines, but now since they screwed the whole thing up with the skill revamp in 3.0 and has just made it extremely difficult to get it to be viable. And do not get me started on IO, that spec ever since i started playing has had heat issues, pre 3.0 pyrotech, its pt version, not a lot of problems with resource management because of the 'spam rail shot' rotation, but they moved that over to advance prototype. So thats the reason why you should try something other than sorcs

    Im done

I am really not a sensitive person, its just when you deal with the same crap for so long you just have to say enough is enough and really i should have called quits a long time ago, but i didnt. I didnt call quits because i foolishly held out hope that the devs might actually wise up and fix the issues plaguing pvp. But that was nothing but misguided wishing. So i can more than take the heat, hell i can dish it out 10 times over. Im just sick of this, as one person actually stated "mini-game" the devs have in place of pvp. Sorry for actually giving a care about it.
  11. Omecrion

    Im done

After PvPing in this game for over 4 years ive seen just about everything you can see in this game's PvP. From poor matchmaking to tryhards who have to do just that to support their arrogant egotistical nature. But now, its just come to the point where this game losses another veteran pvp player. In fact this game's PvP was almost the only thing that kept me in it, but these last few weeks just show not only how toxic alot of the community has become, but also just reinforces the belief that BW just doesnt care about us anymore. Before you say im just a little butt hurt nerd, im not. Ive played in PvP as just about every single class, i know what their good at, what their not good at, and most things on how to counter them. And to some they might say i need to lighten up, but i cant because I am a firm believer in that PvP should be a forum for honorable combat among players and that what we have right now is just a shameful display. So unless BW performs some serious magic and turn this game's PvP into something that is actually worth playing, consider probably one of a few non-stealther players to have gone up in 1v6 fights and win to be done and staying away from this PvP. And unless you have something constructive to say, leave it out. This PvP community is toxic enough already
  12. The anhillator set is a completely different armor set
  13. BW stated that the reason they removed the fleet was due to the gear they provided didn't have the stats that the game was going to be using from then on, but the thing is, BW never informed players before 4.0 dropped about the removal of the vendors, nor did the patch notes tell you. Also it's not there at the lvl 8 vendor all that contains are those low level armors they put in, along with the old class specific armor
  14. The chest guard used to be obtainable from the Corellia vendor but the vendors were removed in 4.0. the only version that remains is the artifact version
  15. I was wondering if anyone had either of these chest guards(they look identical) that they would be willing to sell to a heavy juggernaut player. If you do have one that you would like to sell please pm me on the website with price and what server your on so that way any details can be worked out.
  16. What would really help with this event is if they brought back the old fleet vendors. Yea I am one of those players that want them brought back. They were taken out for a BS reason and if my memory serves me without previous notice, which is ironic because in the stream they talk about not informing players of the reduction of the credit rewards from Heroics and they said they would fix that. Quite honestly BW all you need to do is either a) redo the stats on the items, or b) you bring them back as shells like you did with the class specific armors. Though I honestly doubt that BW will make any informed decision on this given their track record from at least 3.0
  17. I recommend you take a look at forum threads like this one http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=886203 It essentially states what you just said but taken a step further. To use an example it's very reminiscent of what was told to fans of Star Wars Battlefront was going to be in Battlefront 3
  18. Just a little FYI, im not a terrible player, im actually a very competent player. I have played the PvP in this game since i started playing. On my main, which is a jedi guardian, I am usually a nightmare for people because I know what the hell to do and how to do it. I am personally able to go into a 1v6 situation and wreak hell on my opponents. Depending on the match, I average to about 2.4k-2.7k dps with usually 160k protection, as a dps, with roughly 200k healing thanks to focused defense. I have fought and defeated players who have played since beta and they ask me how the hell I beat them and I straight up tell them. So im not one of those who "suck all the time" nor am I one of the "I need friends to help me" sort of people. I have fought my hardest in this game's PvP even though I should have given up long ago because I do believe this PvP could be salvaged. So I am sorry for actually giving a dam about this game. So before you start spouting toxic comments, do a little research on who your saying them to.

    Okay Bioware

It wasn't a dream. I was doing a novare coast match and was solo guarding. 6 of the enemy team came at me. I believe the composition was spec healer, double maras, an operative, a tank sin and a sniper. I took out the sorc first, then I felt with the sniper and the operative, but at that point I was practically dead but I still got the other 3 down to about 30-45% HP left. Granted this was back in SoR but still, it takes skill to be able to do something like that.
  20. Now I posted this a couple years ago and I figured Id see what people thought nowadays. So I would appreciate any feedback anyone might have. "I've been playing GSF from the day it released to now, and after a while, its now gotten repetitive. I got to thinking, "what could be added to make this new, fresh, exciting?" and so I started looking at what could be added. I came to the conclusion that now after a two years, why not add in capital ship battles. Now, in order for this to work Bioware will need to add in new kinds of warships. With that I also started looking at where they could pull other warships from the fill the roles of corvettes, frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and dreadnoughts. What I found was that I was looking at the mod Old Republic at War for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod developer added in the warships from Kotor and Tor as well as a few other kinds of ships that could fill the above stated roles. When I started talking about this on my server, one player came up with an ingenious idea and that was to make a conjoined space and ground warzone as in battlefront 2. I told him "that is brilliant man" and what I did was start thinking about how this would work. I came up with a general idea that in space, you've got a team of say 8 warships on each side, however, the attacking team has an npc ship that they have to escort into an orbital bombardment position and be able to give fire support to the teams on the ground. With ground, you have two 16-man ops groups on both sides. The defending team defends a shield emitter and its generators that protect them from the orbital bombardment. What the attacking team has to do is either take out both generators, or take the shield itself and now the npc ship in space can bring the pain about every 2 minutes and then it has to recharge, at which point it will be extremely vulnerable to enemy attacks. Now you can also have the straight up team death match with this possibility, and even you could bring in regular GSF where there are say 16 to 24 Starfighters and 8 to 12 capital ships. I was also getting into the idea that, these warships, could be like strongholds. When you first get a new ship, you have access to three areas, the bridge, engineering, and the weapons bay. As you get proficient with your ship, you gain the ability to unlock additional areas, and each area gives different bonuses like additional power to weapons or stronger armor, or even more speed. Along with this could be the addition of additional weaponry such as extra turbolasers, concussion missile launchers, proton torpedo launchers, and even mass driver cannons. Heck I wouldn't mind having Diamond Boron missiles as well. You could also make pve content for this where you and three or seven other players in their warships have to capture a space station or a planet as part of a side storyline. Going along, I made a personal discovery that, this could really play into what we currently know of the newest expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire where remnants of both the republic and empire form a resistance against this new foe and they find that building Terminus Destroyers, Thranta class Corvettes, Valor Battleships, and Harrower Dreadnoughts just isn't doable and so they bring back into service Hammerhead cruisers, Foray gunships, Centurion Battlecruisers, Interdictor Cruisers, Dramash cruisers, and even mandalorian ships such as the Kandosii dreadnought, Kyramud battlecruisers, even the Jehavey'Ir warships. Not to mention the venator like cruiser employed by the mandalorians during the Mandalorian War. Please share your thoughts on this idea and I encourage any sort of critiquing or anything else that might make this better." Now obviously this is a little old but as I stated I would like to see what people think about it today.

    Okay Bioware

Okay Bioware, I know you balance this game off of the PvE aspect of this game, but would it honestly kill you to also balance the PvP for frak sake. I've played this game's PvP for a good 4 years now. When I started playing the PvP was decent, good matchmaking, balanced teams, etc. but now its pathetic. Absolutely no team balance what so ever, one of the most awful matchmaking systems I have ever seen. At first the recent "nerf", aka buff, to sorc/sage healers would be the nail in the coffin, but I decided to give the PvP a second chance, but of course you screwed it up just like you have ever since SoR. The nail in the coffin for me is what I've personally taken to calling "trimades". My definition of trimades are premades consisting of a combination of people from 3 different guilds all working in unison. I dont know if there is something like that on the other servers, but on my server, just about every single night for the last week there has been matches like that both Imp and Pub and the other side gets steamrolled. If your too lazy to fix this game's PvP, why the heck do you even have it then? Here a few tips to help yall possibly salvage what is left of this game's PvP: 1): Add in a separate que for those who do premades. Let premades fight premades and let solos fight solos. 2): Actually balance the classes so that each class is actually viable to play in all PvP situations. 3): Put in actual matchmaking so that way each team actually has a chance of defeating each other instead of it being a one-sided steamroller because the opposite team has more healers than the other team For those who might consider im just being a cry baby and that I should "get good", here's a little personal history. Played since RoTHC, PvPed the whole time lvling, held my own against people in full ranked min/maxed auged gear who played far longer than myself. Adept at playing different play styles though I like to keep to melee but ive got no problem doing ranged. On my best toon I can hold my own in a 1v6 pvp situation and actually manage to kill at least half and get the rest down to at least 40% hp. Average dps is about 2.4-2.7k depending on the match and who im fighting. Not to mention that sometimes I out heal some healers through some of my toons' self heals or any base healing abilities they have. So I know what to do and how to do it better than most pvpers that im finding. The only problem is that people seem to only want to fight when they have numbers on there sides, which are more than likely the people who will start bashing this thread as soon as they see it. Word of advice, think before you speak.
  22. I will say I agree with most of your points though the 1v1 que, that wouldnt really work due to as some have already said, some classes overpower other classes in 1v1s. My main problem is people are picking the overpowered specs to play because 1 their overpowered, and 2 they're somewhat easy to play. Personally id like to see a return to some of the class setups that there was between 2.0 and 3.0 where just about any spec was viable for pvp and you saw more people in varied specs. Just from my standpoint, the specs that need the most balancing work is, sorc healing, concealment operative, rage spec, and madness spec. Now I know I might have gotten a few eyebrows cocked when I mentioned rage but let me explain. Compared to vengeance/vigilance, rage/focus is incredibly op. This is just the numbers ive been getting but still: 12k easy on raging/focus burst, 9k on obliterate, 7k on force crush, and the biggest one, 24k+ on concentrated/furious strike. Granted this is with full min/maxed ranked pvp gear with all power augs, it could be higher for some. Then when I tested vigilance/vengeance, I personally saw about a 50-60% reduction in damage numbers, granted Overhead slash/Impale hit close to the 20k mark, its still under performing. And quite honostly, I dont think I need to explain really quite anything when it comes to sorc healing, madness, and concealment operative because if your a veteran pvper like I am, you should already know the issues

    Attack order

I had gotten in to a 4v4 with my team being all dps, a sorc, myself as a jugg, an op, and a merc. The enemy was a team of 2 snipers, a tank sin(full tank gear, no shank tank) and a mara. The first sign of the idiocy was when the sorc said for us to go after the mara. First off the mara was an ataru mara, so not really a threat there in my eyes, but also the fact that he had a guard on him made him less of a tempting target. So myself and my other teammates decided to go after the snipers, a sensible tactic. The sorc dies in under 10 seconds and my team finds ourselves being burned down 1 at a time. The sorc then says that the 2 snipers are actually operatives and that we should again target the mara. At this point im like "Is this dude for real, or is he just trolling" but the same thing happens and again the sorc starts berating us. He "tried" telling me that the attack order is always mara, then op, then merc, and so on. Im not sure about yall but the attack order that I learned and that I have been told every single patch has always been sorc/merc, op/sin, jugg/PT, and then sniper/mara last. And the sorc just continues to just show that he doesnt know what the hell hes doing, which is kinda sad because pvp wise, sorc is 1 of my favorite classes to play. I honostly want to know if this dude was right(highly doubt it) or was he really just being stupid.
  24. If anything, Id say we need a species such as these bad *** looking fellas http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stenax
  25. As the title states, am I seriously missing something? How hard is it for people who do wzs to not remember BASIC PvP 101: Enemy healer=everyone attempting to burn it asap. I just did a 20 wz run and I found that roughly 76-87% of the time, people would not focus the healers even when they are marked and at least one person has mentioned go for the healer. The biggest example of this I personally got was in the wz number 20 where the team combos were as follows: Pubs:Myself as a vigilance guardian, a gunnery commando, a dirty fighting gunslinger, and a infiltration shadow, Imps: Carnage Mara, Arsenal Merc, Healer sorc, and marksman sniper. Out of my team, only me and the shadow were actively attacking the healer. So, seriously can someone explain what im missing as to understand why people cant remember one of the most simplistic and basic of pvp rules?
