There really isn't a problem with Mara/Sent as it stands, now, for PvE at least. The only problem is the Operations' innate discouragement of Melee DPS. If the Devs fixed that, the problem would diminish considerably. Do specs still need to be tweaked? Yes. Does Fury/Concentration and Rage/Focus both need a buff? Yes, undoubtedly. However, since the nerfs to IO/Assault Specialist and Lightning/TK, DPS really isn't that unbalanced across the board. The highest parsing spec is Engineering, but those numbers don't translate so well into a Raid environment. When considering the actual raid capabilities of each Advanced Class (though admittedly not every spec) the balance is relatively good, excluding the obvious mDPS disadvantages.

When considering how to fix the mDPS problem as a whole, it's best to think about the problem in practical terms. I personally don't think fundamentally changing the operations is a viable option. It makes sense that the job of an mDPS would be more hazardous. Greater risk should yield greater reward. The logical solution is to give mDPS higher damage than rDPS, because rDPS by definition will take less overall damage in general. However, this solution cannot be implemented manually across the board, by buffing the abilities of mDPS, because that would just wreak havoc with PvP balance. My suggestion is to give Operation phases a buff of sorts. If a character is an mDPS, that character receives the buff which increases damage dealt by some percentage (I don't presume to know what the right percent is). In doing this, mDPS will be able to compete with rDPS across all Operations, PvP will remain relatively balanced, and no Operations encounter redesign will be necessary.

This didn't answer anything really. All you said is that Annihilation and Carnage are fine GG. My question in the previous thread was about changing how Annihilation / Watchman plays, not about it's damage and you didn't even mention it.

This just confirms that the balancing team is completely disconnected from what the player base wants.

Exactly; im sick of this guys; they made a decent game into BORING game to play.(Anni/watchman)

and the one spec they claim is underperforming is actually the one which works "less ****" in PvP

The thing I really feel needs to happen is Sentinels/Marauders should have some kind of stun/knockback immunity. Whether via Rebuke or Saber Ward (reduce its cooldown slightly and give it stun/knockback immunity) or anything, having some kind of way to avoid constant stuns and knockbacks would be a huge step in the right direction.

Seems like everyone gave up on giving feedback......good job, well R.I.P. my Watchman Sentinel. Gonna switch to Viligance Guardian.....plays as fun as Sentinel used to be fun.

What's the point? Bioware obviously aren't listening anymore.

It is pathetic that this thread with the original message is being dignified by having so many posts. If the chaotic difference in rating -highest Marauder 1884 and highest Assassin 2907 ,is what the devs are "aiming for" as balance ,and the fact that dps leaderbords show mara's underperforming in hm ops (and be unwanted ) .....there is no use .they have no idea what is going on in their "own" game and they dont care to listen and learn.

I think everyone has just run out of useful feedback to give. There have been a lot of very constructive posts since 3.0 came out, about how to improve things, and any further posts are really only rehashing old ideas.

If we get lucky they may actually listen to their players at some point as I think in the main we have offered constructive ideas to help resolve the classes issues without making us op but I have pretty much given up hope, and have come to the same conclusion as everyone else which is they have no clue at all

True but, what else are we going to to do to encourage them, even if their job description or not (even if it might be their own fault for this). The community is already Toxic and Devs have ignored most of the stuff for too long. We don't need to be grateful (We can give thumb sup and probably encourage for what it should be standard and hope more of the communication like this happens in the future) and we don't need to make any crazy demands but reasonable once.

This^

The game isn't perfect, nor are the developers but I appreciate their work because if they didn't do it we wouldn't have a game. I also think that the changes in the last couple patches have been positive steps. I'd like to see the watchman rotation get a bit more dynamic again and be a little more mobile in pvp but they've said these are areas they're looking at. In regards to watchman I liked the shorter duration faster ticking dots myself. From a mobility standpoint the movement impairment immunity on Force Exhaustion is a great step, I'm curious to see how a similar change is implemented to the other 2 specializations. I'd argue that it's just as needed if not more so for watchman and combat.

The devs don't want feed back and don't listen to it.

The only thing trying to post on these forums will get people is disappointed. If you don't like how things are going no amount of posting constructive or otherwise will make any difference.

The devs just don't like maras. There's really no other explanation.

Juggs get a free, .5sec GCD AoE slow with their 1 point spend. Maras have to spend a point for their single-target slow to just have a 1 rage cost.

Rage juggs are superior in every way to Fury maras.

Maras deal very similar damage, at massively reduced survivability.

Crappy devs OP, Bioware plz nerf

Dem new patch notes doe.

Hey they finally listened about Transcendence. And they combined both Undying Utilities.

And, they brought Annihilation back to it's original AIDS state on the PTS when no matter what you did all of your abilties conflicted and the rotation made no sense. On top of that, Swift Demise no longer makes sense. Sigh.

Exactly what i thought about the dots nothing has changed. Also i still think we need camo purge as a separate utility.

Ahem, AIDS state was under the NDA or has that been lifted?

I still seeing nothing that really helps mauaders with all the god damn root/mezz/cc going on in pvp.

As for PVE the change to pred is moot to me as i dont use there most the time and in pvp i use to pre stack pred then pop it again when it over and i cant do that in pvp no more. unless there go nve pred immunity to slow/roots etc what was the point to the pred change?

Well our class may not be getting a fix, but at least sorcs/sins/ops won't have to worry about their extreme lack of mobility anymore. God knows those poor classes have it rough. How about doing something about OUR lack of mobility? WE are stunned/rooted/mezzed constantly. Good rotation/bad rotation doesn't matter if you are gang stunned and dead in 3 seconds. Other classes have self heals, instant speed, stuns, roots, ranged aoe's, and combat stealth that doesn't have a timer, plus equal dps solely reliant upon none of the above abilities. So THIS is balanced? No, this is a bad joke. Increase our dps for the 3 seconds we're alive to do it, or give us stuns, and stun breakers of our own so we can at least survive to do our mediocre dps over a longer period of time please. you can watch the 3.0 stream to see some stuff which wouldn't be covered under the nda

Technically, AIDS state was only out of the NDA for the Sent/Mara blog. So people knew about it, without having to be on the PTS.

Anyway, the differences between 3.0 PTS and 3.2.1 PTS:

Accelerating Victory also reducing cost of Force Melt

Cauterize + Force Melt hitting harder

Lower ICDs on RNG Resource Procs

TST +100% damage proc

Master Strike -12 sec CD, - ~30% damage (random guess, probably wrong)
