PackfanKen
14 hours over the last 3 days. I've only purchased the kingpin tokens (20), but have bought the smuggler tokens to earn the kingpin tokens. I have spent 4 million credits and I have all of the achievements except for the Rancor mount. I'm sorta getting frustrated. Does anyone know what the odds are to win a rancor? Smymor
It's just luck,.. I have been playing since yesterday, around 20 smuggler chips every day. Today I only bought 6 smuggler chips, I won 1 Kingpin chip nearly the last of the chips, and after 3 tries I got the Rancor... I even didn't had the "Feeling Lucky" buff. Sorry, but just keep trying... or buy the Dathomir Rancor at the GTN...
robertthebard
It's gambling. It's gonna be like that, no matter what. You could spend another week at a machine and never get it, meanwhile, a guy walks up beside you, rolls once and gets it. That's how it works. Isaacone
Its just by chance. Ive gotten both mounts but barely any golden certificates. Ive bought about 500 smugglers tokens over the past 3 days. All I have to do is get 15 golden certificates to buy the last mount and to break the machine to get all the achievements. Furthermore this event is a month long so you have many chances to win. Afterall thats what gambling is. Its a game of chance

Jedi_Slayer
odds are .07 I think .09 with the buff. So pretty slim. Edited June 13, 2014 by Jedi_Slayer
slafko
I got the Rancor within one hour of spam-clicking and spending about 700k on tokens. All I need now are those two ugly speeders and I'm done with the event.
ZETA_SCORPII
I got the Rancor within one hour of spam-clicking and spending about 700k on tokens. All I need now are those two ugly speeders and I'm done with the event. The speeders are pretty cool IMO! I'm not much of an animal mount person but I do want to win the Rancor just for the thrill of it. I've won plenty of the speeders and certificates, yet the Rancor eludes me still. DarthTHC
I'm not frustrated at all. That's because I understand what the odds are because I've read the thread over on the other site that has the data-mined odds. Oh, and because I don't play because of that, just like I don't play slots at the casino (or any other game except Blackjack and Poker where I can leverage my odds to be more favorable than the opposition's). This event is designed to drain credits out of the pockets of players who can't help but to gamble. In concert with all the Cartel Market sales, both things are designed to have you as ingame broke as possible by the time Strongholds ships so you have to spend real cash. tourviell
Rancor was my first big prize on kingpin's, won it on first day, I think that even with those first five chips. But I also know, that my guildies, also playing from the first day of event, won lots of certificates, speeder, but non rancor. So I think it's a pure luck and artificial rng... BrintoSFJ
I saw someone hit jackpot 4 times in 10 minutes who was gambling beside me, i even remember that person's name. i spent 2 hours gambling but only got 3 golden certificate. it is about luck, if your luck in real life sux, it is gonna be sucky in luck based games too. i accepted it, you have to do the same. jwsjTyrannus
If it makes you feel better, the chances of blowing up a machine are smaller than getting a Rancor. and I blew up three machines, two within 20 minutes. And still didn't get a Rancor. Granted... 4 hours later with a grand total of 1.2m invested, I got one on my last chip.
Aairyk
By the time I had spent 300k, I had already received 2 rancors. However, after spending another 1 million, I have yet to blow up a machine and am only at 14 golden certificates... Sadly, I can't invest much more because I was "poor" (relative to everyone else) prior to starting. It's all just random luck.

Grayseven
I spent 600k credits on Smuggler's coins and 40 CM certificates on Kingpin. For every 100k of Smugglers coins spent I would receive 10-12 Kingpin coins. I still have 37k of Smugglers coins and I've gotten enough Golden Certificates for the speeder and two guns with 3 left over. I have two of the big prize Vectrons and the Rancor mount. My good luck is countered somewhere by someone else's bad luck. A post on the Dulfy site shows that, on average, it will cost someone 2.3 million credits to get the Rancor. That really isn't that much compared to the GTN prices of some of the other mounts. It is also an average. That means to make that average with my lucky 600k cost, someone else will spend 4 million...

Hoshkar
Random number generator....This thing hates me, always has, always will, every damn game I have played... My guild leader on the other hand... Think he only dropped 150k before he got the Rancor, on top of 15 golden certs, and the other mount....
brokensoldier
4 million credits got me: 85 gold certs, 5 Vectron Magnus6 Blown up machines0 Rancors So it's safe to say that I will never participate in another event like this again. Mosly because of this: After I banked 100 Kingpin coins, and started on the Kingpin machine with the lucky buff, then the lucky buff ran out, went back to the Smuggler machine to get the buff again, and rolled a jackpot without a buff at the Smuggler machine which nets you a gold cert. Three times this happened. I'm done. Edited June 17, 2014 by brokensoldier

BuriDogshin
Zero credits spent, zero Rancors obtained. So just as with state lotto games, the odds do not bother me at all.
