To the cartel market team - why won't you bring us more iconic Jedi robes?

Recommended Posts

It's been 2 years and the only thing close to traditional, archetypal and iconic stuff is the Relnex's robe. I agree that it consists of traditional elements (but the tunic is lacking outer layers) but there really could be more light outfits which are screaming "Jedi" at this stage.

I even had some help now to get extremely accurate pictures of somewhat traditional robes (one of two models) from KotOR 2:

http://i.imgur.com/2NoBT6o.jpg - Jedi Master robes.

There are also versions with tabards. I would, personally, prefer no tabard as it would leave us two dye slots instead of having a third component which wouldn't be colorable. So the robe being a secondary dye slot and tunic a primary slot would let players to turn their robes black/ dark grey and enjoy some light Sith outfits too.

This is hardly a copy of Obi-Wan's outfit. Eric said it's not gonna get copy-pasted in. Fine. So why not bring us this?

Many players posted these as in-game screenshots. Lots would be happy to finally get them! Raw picture models of a more attractive variant on their way.

When they do add these robes, the need to add another version that is all black and with the hood up for the empire faction, then all will be good.Players will be able to choose between the hood up and hood down versions and jedi and sith by default will have the iconic robes they seek.

I would like plain brown tunic with no hood, much like simplier version of Casual Combatants chestpiece. With long sleeves plz.

Otherwise selection is just fine.

1. Valiant Jedi

Hood down, belt under robe, long sleeves. This is traditional Jedi Robe for me

2 Sanctified Caretaker

3 Last Handmaiden

4 noble commander (yes it contains ugly hat, yes there is hide head slot for that)

5 Charged/Overloaded Peacemaker

6 Bastila Shan set

7 Visas Marr set

6 Jedi Padawan outfit (I dont remember name right now)

7 Casual Combatant

8 non-cartel armorings like Traditional Lashaa Silk Vestments and Sith Blademasters vest

9 Relnex Robes

You know what, the Marka Ragnos set is pretty much a jedi robe with lots of metal. If they just reduced the model to the clothing alone that should do, not sure what is taking them so long. Edited by illgot

Here is the set everyone, who wants traditional Jedi robes, would desire over the one I have already posted:

Please, why u not make dis happen?! Mr. Dondelinger? :[ Why there are barely any iconic Star Wars robes in a Star Wars game?

And I know that, Illgot. All it needs is a retexture, added hood mesh and probably the stuff underneath the belt, although it could a mesh pants, too. It wouldn't clip as I tested long robes (those with belts around waists do clip a little) with Handmaiden's and Naga Sadow's "skirt pants".

It seems that most lore sets are "copy-pasted in" items. Why can't we have that as an obi-wan lore set or "traditional Jedi" set or something? Regardless of what it is called, we need that set.

Well, I would pay for the robe. I doubt it'd go beyond $15 for it though, like their other premium gear. But more than likely they'd put it as a random drop in a "Pack" that you would have to keep buying until you got it. Because thats how EA is.

But, thats a set of armor that would keep me around for a long time.

The "true jedi" clothing.

Omg, this should be in game. Wth, I don't want that short sleeve version crap on it either. Keep the robes just like that, it's epic.

I'd be another who'd buy it in a heartbeat, both Jedi and Sith versions of these robes.

I second this. I'd love the Jedi colored version pictured, and then a grey version with a charcoal/block robe and boots for a dark Jedi version.

Hood down on the back, long sleeves, a tunic that is part of the leg piece under the robe, belt INSIDE the main robe-

It's in KOTOR 2, no reason for it not to be in TOR.

OR this, which would be incredibly simple: http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/swtor-ajunta-palls-armor-set-star-cluster-nightlife-pack-chest1.jpg

Remove the orange bits from ajunta pall set, add a tabard (properly textured, one colour, no plastic shine) to the upper part like in the Exiled Knight and add a lower-tabard texture on the below-the waist part. Or make a tabard like on Lana's Model. This sounds and is simple for anyone with 3ds max basics.

I know right? I remember the slight outrage that such a close Jedi Tunic exists, just a few additions/tweaks and it'd make a great Jedi Tunic without the outer robe.

At this point I have a suspicion that they have a reason for not releasing them as they seem like such an obvious choice. I would not be able to believe that they haven't thought of it yet.

If they have a perfectly valid reason, I'd very much like to hear it instead of being left in the dark. There's reason and lore basis enough for their existence, so any word as to why they aren't implemented would be an improvement over the current situation.

First, every time BW releases an armor set t hat might be considered "jedi robes", there is at least one poster who finds SOME minor flaw and therefore that particular set is "no good" because it is not EXACTLY what he wants. Why should BW continue to dump resources into outfits that will likely be called "no good" by at least one poster if they do not match his EXACT desires?

Second, what would happen if BW did give their reasons and players did not agree with or like that reason? Would one or more posters continue to post here, pestering the devs like petulant children?

I agree with my friend here. It would be nice to receive a response about it.

1: Relnex's has the robe and tunic tucked under the belt along with short sleeves. The Exiled Master is close, but has the hood up with a long skirt and just kind of dyes...ok. Most of the others have short sleeves or a tucked in robe or a hood up or multiple of these issues. http://i.imgur.com/9ha8ELu.jpg This right here would shut me up. Even if it clipped a bit while running, if it looks good while standing and walking, I'd be absolutely tickled silent.

2: I just said 'if' they had a valid reason (i.e. They'd get sued or something over using the exact robes). I'd shut up if that was the case too, because there's no way to win against that. Of course if it's just to build suspense over their release, then they wouldn't tell us.

I don't demand the robes, but it's just something I would REALLY like to see happen in the Cartel Market. I can live without it because there are other styles to fiddle with, but KOTOR 2 nailed the Prequel typical Jedi look, which came before TOR.
