  1. My guess is not that long, but I think the fix they have in mind will not touch the slot machine. The last time they changed the slot machine, everyone got pissed off (for good reason), and I think they don't want to open that can of worms. They need to have a designer spend time to come up with a proper solution for a developer to implement and not band-aid the problem via the slot machine. To fix it right, I can see that it will take a bit of work to do, and I totally see why it isn't priority. I don't like it, but I get it. If I was in Bioware's spot, I would probably make the same decision.
  2. Disclaimer: I am a player that was excited and tried GSF at launch, but quickly stopped playing it. I'm not sure if that means my feedback is more or less important. The Super Secret Space project was one that I followed closely and I had high expectations for it. When I played it, I had issues that caused me to quickly drop it. I will try to hit all of those pain points. For transparency, I played the space game a lot in another MMO, Star Wars Galaxies, and I heavily enjoyed the PVE and PVP aspects of that space game, so I am no stranger to full XYZ axis PVP play. I expected the controls to be more like a flight simulator and to be able to use a joystick. The control with the mouse was extremely difficult for me, and off-putting. I don't know if I can go back due to this issue alone. When I pick a ship, my job is not clear to me. In the ground game, it is clear that more role is Dmg, Heals, or Tank. In ground game PVP, you can also have objectives, but your understanding of your role helps you to adapt to how you help your team with objectives. I don't understand the ships and their roles, I don't know which ship role I like, nor do I understand how I can leverage a role to help my team with objectives. For the ground game, the entire PVE experience helps you to get set up for that, but GSF does not have that support. I needed something to "ramp up" the learning curve. I was expecting some PVE missions to get the hang of things before hitting PVP. The other space missions did nothing to prepare me for PVP. GSF needs a PVE component, because a noob does not want to go fight against seasoned pros. The legacy issue. I leveled a character in GSF to unlock some ships, but among my 18 toons, I have no idea which one, or if I even deleted that toon. It was a lot of work, and I didn't want to start all over for what seemed like a lot of work. I feel like I always get matched against seasoned veterans, and I can barely fly straight. I feel like I would do my team a favor by not queuing, so someone better than me could be in my spot, because I'm dead weight on my team. Ultimately, without a PVE component in place to allow me to gain more confidence against AI controlled ships, I don't think I will ever go back to the PVP space game. If GSF space PVE was in place, I would most definitely use it to master a ship and then hit up space PVP.
  3. Disclaimer: I am a player that was excited and tried GSF at launch, but quickly stopped playing it. I'm not sure if that means my feedback is more or less important. Since this is about itemization, I did feel that playing GSF meant my entire character was "on pause" as I was only progressing GSF on that character only, and that impacted nothing else. It didn't feel woven into the game. Ultimately, I would only go back to GSF if I thought I was going to be rewarded for it in the ground game. Also, don't just make the relationship one way. Allow GSF to progress the ground game, but allow the ground game to progress GSF. Here is what I would be interested in: Ground Game Perks from GSF New ground game companions acquired via GSF New armor sets. Pilot themed, but they need to be cool. I'm not asking for "generic frigate pilot clothes", but "what would the hero of tython wear as a fighter pilot?" clothes Legacy off hands. Weapons for sure, but please, off hands Decorations. We need a ton of these, and I mainly play the game for strongholds these days anyways. Put up some dye scheamtics for crafters. Since few people play GSF, let a GSF crafter corner the market on some dyes. If people don't like it, play GSF. You know those planet quick travel abilities we can buy in the legacy window per character? Why not sell some variation of that here? Perhaps an unlock to discount planet to planet travel, or something new related to planet hopping travel that would be a GSF perk. Perhaps something similar to the guildship orbital support that could be sold/acquired via playing GSF that impacts the ground game. GSF Perks from Ground Game I would like to be able to progress GSF, even if slowly, via playing the ground game. Meaning, I can get a ship upgrade or two from playing the ground game after doing some dailies or heroics, as opposed to getting owned as a noob in GSF for dozens of matches against pros before I can get one upgrade for my ship.
  4. Some great dev responses lately on the forums. Keep up the great communication and we will need a Commemorative Statue of Keith. Butt kissing aside, I have made a request a handful of times over the years that has fallen on deaf ears. I use the Jedi BattleLord armor set (Jedi Stormguard is the same appearance) and the Resolute Guardian armor set, as the former is hood up and latter is hood down. My problem is that I want the robe to be black. The dye system does not change the robe color at all. I have no idea how much work it is to create two new versions (hood up and down) of the chest that dye differently, but I would love to hear if this is possible. Thanks.
  5. A personnel decoration pack, that drops 3-4 different personnel decorations. We don't have enough variety OR quantity of this type of decoration.
  6. I support this idea, at least on paper. If for some reason the devs think it is a bad idea or that they can't do it, it would be nice to given some reasoning behind why it is not done. I recall seeing cowls in beta, so I know they have done it before, but they have definitely not gone down that path in live, with the exception of the dathomir shamans cowl.
  7. That is brilliant. My assumption is that Z0-OM would still use a blaster file regardless of the customization, which I'm ok with. However, it would be neat to have a mix of sound files used when a customization is applied, meaning that you sometimes get Z0-OM's chatter and sometimes get chatter that belonged to companion the customization is based on.
  8. How am I supposed to get a Floor Safe decoration in a guild stronghold? Am I missing a trick of getting it donated to a guild?
  9. I would love Manaan, but I want a reason to visit the planet besides a flashpoint. One of the perks of a stronghold is you can exit to the planet, which seems like a waste on Manaan. Add some dailies to the planet, and then I would love a stronghold there. Perhaps they could re-use part of the assets used from the coil (shroud's base)? I think it would be awesome if there was an expansion to an underwater section, similar to the HK chapter. We could enter it and be in a submarine, which they already have on Manaan, or we simply automatically put on one of those old diving suits where you stay on the bottom of the ocean floor and walk around, so you are not swimming. They also need to address something else regarding sizes of strongholds, with whatever the next stronghold is. The last one was Yavin, which at first was great because it was so big, but it's now a pain because it takes forever to get around the thing. If the next stronghold is large, it suffer the same problem unless they give us ways to get around the strongholds faster, such as putting quick travel points down. If the next one is too small, that problem is avoided, but we will all probably complain that it's too small.
  10. I don't think that is right 100% of the time, as far as how SWTOR has implemented it. I have seen my head clip through helmets, and part of my chest clip through armor chest pieces. I believe the way that masks work, at least ones that show part of the face, is that they toggle off your hair and some/most/all facial hair (depending on the mask) and/or cybernetics. The mask then sits on top of the player head object. Sometimes they mess this up, and my beard or hair will clip through when it is not supposed to. However, there are some full face masks that I can tell are obvious full object replacement, such as the Wayward Warrior's Mask. In other words, you are not wrong, but it's an oversimplification of what can happen. The fact that a helmet for example can be implemented multiple ways probably makes the system even more complicated, which I think goes to more your point to begin with.
  11. This is a petition for a re-skin of the Reclusive Master's Armor set to be created and made available to players. The problems with the set that a re-skin needs to address are below. The armor plate on the chest is horrible. Please remove the armor plate from the chest. The hood clips with everything, and multiple people have been asking on this forum and on reddit for this chest with the hood down. Please change it to be hood down. Thank you.
  12. We both know I can't counter that point even if I tried. Call it delusional optimism. Don't forget the CE also came with a statue, a CD, the security fob, and a book. Although I suspect the digital vendor contributed to sales more than those other items, the pricing of the CE was most likely driven by the material items and not the digital. The digital vendor might have even been an after thought thrown in for all we know, so I don't think an argument can be made that the CE vendor is worth $90 considering what else that $90 was supposed to get you. Although I suppose this debate is somewhat pointless, as I think everyone will be shocked if they actually provide a new means for people to access the vendor.
  13. I'm a collector's edition owner and I enjoy access to the vendor. I mainly bought it before launch due to the vendor access, with the promise for exclusive stuff on the vendor and for it to be updated on a regular basis. I believe I have an unpopular opinion, but hear me out. At this point in time, I support the idea of BW introducing some mechanism for non-collector's edition owners to get access to the vendor somehow. I WANT more people to access the vendor. The reason is, the vendor is hardly ever updated. My hope is that if more people had access to the vendor, then they would update it more. I believe that since the population with access to the vendor is dwindling, they are not putting resources to update a vendor that so few people would benefit from. For the vendor to get the attention it needs, it needs to have a growing population of use, not a dwindling one.
  14. That's a good counterpoint. In terms of loading in where you want to be, it doesn't solve the issue. You can argue that loading in where you want and traveling around fast are two different issues, with two different solutions. It's probably a matter of preference to a degree. For example, I hate loading on Yavin 4, but even if I could change the load in spot, it doesn't solve the fact that the stronghold is so big it takes for ever to get anywhere. Ideally, both solutions could be implemented to give players full control and quality of life. However, my question is, if only one of the two could be implemented, would you still focus on where you load rather than traveling quickly around the stronghold? If so, why?
  15. I like the idea, however I think before a dev can implement it, there are more questions to be asked and answered. For example, what happens if you put down more than one of these in a stronghold? What about people asking for ways to get around a stronghold faster? First, I think we have to identify the problem, before we come up with solutions. The problem is that strongholds can be large, especially ones like Yavin 4, but there are not easy/fast ways to get around the strongholds. Any solution to that problem needs to allow players to get where they want to go quickly. The problem for a developer is, they don't know where you want to go, because everyone is different. Changing the load in spot my might help in some situations, but what about I'm already loaded and I need to trek across the entire stronghold? Changing the load in spawn place doesn't really help for that. I would propose a different solution. Create decorations that players can acquire and place that act as fast travel and/or quick travel location(s) in their stronghold. If I can quick travel to another spot in my stronghold, I can now get to where I want to quickly, satisfying the problem. If I still spawn in at the default place, it's not a big deal since I can quick travel around the stronghold. One existing decoration that could be converted as a quick travel spot and/or fast travel spot is the Ancient Rakata Transporter. I don't recommend that be the only decoration with that function, since it is a centerpiece decoration. If we could get a variety of decoration looks and sizes that could give us the ability to travel around quickly, that would be ideal.
  16. Which set(s) are you talking about?
  17. I get the response that it would cut down on pack sales. To combat that, make the system optional. In order to "unlock" the ability to purchase copies of decorations, you have to pay cartel coins per decoration. For example, you get a hold of an imperial logo rug, and unlock it. You now have 1/999 of that rug. You now have two options. Get another item and use it to raise your count to 2/999, or pay 100 cartel coins to unlock the ability to purchase additional copies for credits for that specific decoration. After paying the cartel coins, you are still at 2/999, but you can now use credits to buy another similar to buying the decoration for a guild. If you want to unlock this ability for a different decoration, you have to pay the cartel fee again. Fee breakdown: Unlock the ability to purchase bronze decorations: 100 cc per decoration Unlock the ability to purchase silver decorations: 200 cc per decoration Unlock the ability to purchase gold decorations 300 cc per decoration Pros: People still need to buy cartel packs so you can unlock decorations. You would not be able to pay the unlock fee if you are at 0/XXX of a decoration. It's not hard to get one copy of a decoration. You can still consume multiples of a decoration. If you want about 4 or so of a cheap decoration, why pay cartel coins to unlock it? Just consume the items if they are cheaper decorations that you don't need a lot of. We get another thing to spend cartel coins on. Any reduction in cartel coin spend from hyper-crates might be offset at the least by the increase in cartel coin spend on decoration purchase costs. This potentially adds another credit sink AND cartel coin sink to the game. Cons: There is database and UI work to do per decoration. If a "whale" is buying hypercrates for a specific decoration, they potentially would spend less on cartel coins as they only need to consume one decoration and could then purchase the unlock. It is unclear if a potential dip in sales from a whale would be off set by the increase in cartel coin spend from the non-whales.
  18. /signed There needs to be a way of acquiring these in game other than what we have now.
  19. I'm using the Silent Warden set now with a head band to make the hood down. I hate the head band, but I hate the hood up worse. I wish we had a smaller head or invisible head slot item for forcing hoods down. It would not solve all problems, but it would help. My preference is if they would just make a hood up and down version of all chest pieces that have a hood. Make the collection unlock require just one of them, but allow the collection claim button to pull down both versions into your inventory, so you can choose which to use.
  20. I wish we had a cosmetic (no stats) back slot. Jetpacks, backpacks, and capes with or without hoods and hoods without a cape could have been used for that slot. That would cover tech and force users, and still allow a hood to go over certain head slot items.
  21. I don't disagree with this, but I think most people would agree that the boots are sought after for female toons, jedi and sith alike. If there was a cheap cartel market re-skin armor set that had those same boots, I suspect that the satele set would drop in price. However, the Sith Recluse and Tulak Hord armor sets are quite masculine and very sithy. It's not easy to make them look jedi like. A good masculine or sex neutral jedi armor set is needed to compete with those sets. The closest I can think of is the Temple Guardian, if you throw out the gloves and boots which ruin the set.
  22. Please make some edits to the Reclusive Master's armor before the armor goes live. 1. Remove armor plate. The set is primarily a jedi robe, so why are there small armor bits on it? Is it a jedi robe or jedi armor? Right now it's neither. Just remove the armor bits so it's more obviously a jedi robe. 2. Make it hood down (or give us both) Since launch, non-sithy looking jedi robes are always hood up. Please make this set hood down, or when we claim the set from an unlocked collection allow it to return 2 chest pieces, one hood up and one hood down. Reclusive Master’s Armor Image that needs to be edited http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/54B7BBF6268A7527.jpg
  23. A black robe version of the Jedi BattleLord and/or Stormguard robes, since the originals cannot dye the robe color.
  24. Below is a list I have compiled of things that could be changed to make Strongholds better than they currently are. I would invite others to post their lists as well in this thread. This first list is meant for quality of life improvements and/or to standardize how users interact with the system. Move the Tatooine SH terminal outside of the spaceport, as it's current location does not allow you to travel to a SH. Allow users to sort their strongholds, in the stronghold list. Alternatively, if the list auto-sorted by the last visited SH would also work, such as how the login screen works with our character list. Allow users with a fully unlocked stronghold to pay credits or cartel coins to ensure they can drop and reactivate a stronghold for free, without having to drop the stronghold first. Currently Strongholds purchased with cartel coins enable this, but for users who purchased with credits don't get this option. They should be able to "upgrade" but not have to pay the full cartel coin cost. Cartel market decorations can be added to a guild for a fee. Please allow other non-cartel market decorations to be added to a guild for a fee. Cartel market decorations can be added to a guild for a fee. This has caused some players to get a private guild for their legacy and use a guild stronghold and instead of a personal one, because they can access rare decorations easier by paying credits to generate more decorations. Please allow us to pay credits, even if it is a high amount, to generate more copies of an existing decoration for our private stronghold. The spawn point for the Yavin SH is nice for the first time visiting the SH, but annoying once you have owned it for a while and spawn far away from eveything. Adding more hooks on the path to the temple from the spawn point or moving the spawn point (after the first initial visit), or allowing users to customize the spawn point would alleviate this issue. Allow users to like other users strongholds. Allow users to sort by "Liked" SHs at the SH terminals. Allow users to see all public SHs from the SH window, without having to visit the terminal on the fleet. Leave the terminal to function for purchasing SHs. Allow users to create a "favorite" so they can visit that stronghold quickly, even if they do not have a key (assuming the owner is online and the SH is not private). This next list is about adding new decorations. Some are new types that do not exist yet. Add the priority transport terminal from the fleet as a functioning decoration. Add the heroic quest terminal from the fleet as a functioning decoration. Add training dummies. Add quests that can take place in strongholds. Add quest giver terminals and/or NPC decorations that are interactive and grant quests. Add new decorations that perform the functions of existing utility decorations. We already extra skins of the cargo bay thanks to the safes on the security vendor, and it would be nice to have variety with the look of the utilities. For example, a new decoration that functions as a mailbox. Perhaps add the Item modification station function to the jedi and sith lightsaber forge decorations. New versions of the GTN, and a medical device that performs the appearance modification station. An alternative to the legacy cargo hold that matches the wall/floor safes would be nice. Add more functioning slot machines or other interactive gambling machines that provide different loot then the existing contraband slot machine. Please don't break the economy again and then later nerf the item to be useless. Perhaps this new item could drop a variety of decorations exclusive to it. This next list is about hooks, adding new hooks or other functionality with a stronghold, not necessarily tied to a decoration. Add more hooks to the cave areas in the Yavin stronhold. There are too many "dead" areas of no hooks in this stronghold. Add a special rug hook for starship hook types. A large "cage" decoration could go on this hook to go around the large beasts we have, or some a rug decoration that composes of the workers and various hoses on the ground we see at starports could be a rug to go under our starships. Allow users to change the time of day in a stronghold. Allow users to change the weather in a stronghold. This next list is about standardizing drop rates or the acquisition of decorations, or altering loot tables. Flashpoint decorations can be difficult to acquire. All flashpoints should have a 100% way to acquire a decoration or a *token that allows the purchase of a decoration (* referring to the Relics dropped from the Tython/Korriban flashpoints). Cartel certificates are nearly non-existent anymore, and we have a bunch of decorations that can only be acquired with this incredibly difficult to get currency. Either allow the cartel certificate decorations on the fleet to be purchased via something else, or re-introduce cartel certificates. Add more rare drop decorations to generic pve content. There really is not much anything useful to loot from mobs and we could use something else. Also, the datacrons have been out for a while and honestly, look way to similar to each other. A handful of decorations that drop across all planets added to the loot table would be nice. This next list is about NPC decorations. Allow us to place our existing avatar as a decoration, as it is seen in our family tree. This is intended to allow users to place all of their characters in strongholds. Grant to all users two copies of every NPC decoration they have, a holo and a non-holo version. Do not force companions to be the holo version, but allow users to decide which version they want to set down. Allow users to change and set a loop-able emote on an NPC. Available emotes should be pulled from the emotes a user has unlocked, which would encourage users unlocking more cartel market emotes. Allow users to set patrol paths for NPCs to walk in our strongholds. It would be nice to make the strongholds seem more alive and less static. Allow NPCs to be placed on top of other decorations, or intentionally load them last so they stand on top of decorations. Allow special NPC vendors and/or quest givers to randomly spawn inside of my stronghold and walk around for a period of time before leaving. They should not be placed as a decoration, and should be a "surprise" visitor to our strongholds. Perhaps certain visiting NPCs only visit certain strongholds. That's all I have for now. What kinds of things are you guys looking for regarding improvements to the strongholds systems?
  25. Manaan, with part of the SH underwater, but only if they expand the planet to have a daily area and some heroics. A SH allows you to access the planet quickly, and we don't need to access Manaan quickly because we only go there for a flashpoint. Assuming they do not expand Manaan, Hoth or Ilum could be a nice existing icy planet, or if a new planet is introduced a treehouse in Kashyyk. An apartment on the fleet would also be nice, just to have fleetchat.
