  1. Dxun GF. I am on my Mando DPS. One wipe on Red, but otherwise good until Mutant Trandoshan Squad. There, the tanks begin arguing over strategy, one tank says he refuses to take both Titax and Hissy, they end up calling each other names as we wipe three times. One RDPS is kiting fire guy, one tank on Hissy and Titax, other on ice guy, is anyway the strategy everyone settles with, with Hissy being killed first. On our 4th go, things look promising. The Hissy tank cannot keep threat against a VG DPS, but healers manage to keep him alive, and he seems to somewhat know what he is doing and takes Hissy to tracks as he approaches 15%. Then, when Hissy is at 16 - a Sage healer pulls the Vanguard in attempt to deaggro him and Hissy leaps after him out of the tracks and gets torpored there. Group falls apart after that.
  2. Joined for a DP SM run on my Sage Healer. Bestia goes fine. On Tyrans, the Guardian tank does not move an inch once she gets first Simplification, and falls down. A Vanguard (DPS) and a Sentinel end up bouncing aggro back and forth which leads to messy fight and a lot of outgoing damage, but ultimately nobody else dies. Calph, leader says 1st portal all left, 2nd by frames. Up until 2nd portal all goes fine, but on 2nd the other healer, a Scoundrel, who was meant to go left, stays outside and dies. The three guys on the left are the Guardian tank, a Sent DPS and a Commando DPS who had 220 gear rating. Then at 2nd crystal the Sentinel calls for taunt on chat a few times, his HP steadily dropping, before he promptly dies (on the other side than me) and shortly thereafter, we wipe due the crystal not being killed. Someone calls the Sentinel and Commando noobs. Commando says that he is first time, and said so when he joined and still no one explained. Sentinel says that "I was on the crystal until I ran out of DCDs and Calph *****slapped me to death" (direct quote). Raid leader removes Commando and Sentinel from the group without further word (4 of them, including the leader were from same guild so perhaps they were talking in VC). At that point, as I felt that neither of them did anything wrong, I also quit out of solidarity.
  3. I'm not mad, just sad. I loved this game for social content, and while the story is nice and all I don't feel like logging in anymore due lack of new content. Raging won't help anyone, and this is still a great MMO, and a lot players are happy with direction it has taken, and that's cool. That's just not me. SWTOR had a special place in my life, and now that its over is it a surprise there is certain emptiness remaining? Oh well, lack of new raids is the best thing that has happened to my grades at least.
  4. Death is the best CC For reals thou, maybe its that often CC'd enemies are target marked, and folks take that as command to attack.
  5. I'd also recommend Sentinels if you are to take melee, they can spec for self-cleanse.
  6. ... And that is removal of faction system and letting players of both factions group up, form guilds, chat and quest together. This would improve game on many different levels. -Bigger playerbase for PvE content. This one is obivious. Currenlty playerbase is effectively divided to half, because you cannot group with other half. Operations and most FP's are same for both factions, also the faction-restricted FP's could be handled such a way that other faction players would go to spectator mode during cutscenes, and maybe add a toggle to prevent a pop to opposite faction FP. For planet missions and heroics game would treat opposite faction players just as it treats someone who doesn't have said quest. -Faction imbalance on PvP. This would allow teams to be random selection of players from both factions. Currenlty imps are so dominant on PvP on many servers that its not even fun to Imp players themselves, and even less to Rep players. Mixing teams would result healthier matches and more fun for everyone. Visuals aren't really an issue as AoE's are colored red/green anyway and color of nameplate tells allies from enemies. -No more annoyance when your friends play mostly Imp but you'd like to play a Jedi. This is a bigger one than it seems on first glance, current system either restricts playing with friends, or forces friends to choose characters of same faction. Also many players have chars on both factions, so propability of finding a friend online cuts to half (as they may as well be on other side) compared to if there was not limiting faction system. -I'm not expert here but I think also roleplayers would benefit from free chatting and grouping with anyone. With new Alliance story this would also make just fine sense. Toughts, feedback?
  7. You know, you don't need to make those tiny companions to tank... .... You could already have body type 1 female tank in bikini, how's that any different? By all means keep using Khem and Pierce as tank if you want, but allow also Marauders have Vette tank because a) they want to run around with their romance b) tank comp is faster than healer but more safe than DPS comp so it's at least my preference with my DPS toons I agree about lack of distinct abilities. But then people would cry how some comp is better than other. Different names and visuals would be sweet thou. Removal of gear brings good things too. Droid companions used to be rather impossible to gear as OPS comms gear wasn't compactible with droid pieces. Finally I can viably use my favorite companion of all time, T7 and not be stuck with either rather cool Sith Lord but he ain't adorable (Scource), padawan with negative IQ I cry I cannot airlock (Kira), grumpy soldier (Rusk) or random dude (Doc).
  8. In my opinion they are all powerful on their own ways and hard to put in order. In my opinion thou Raptus and Brontes stand out in raw power. Tyrans and Brontes seem most intelligent Masters, I'd consider that big merit of theirs as well. Perhaps as whole I'd say Brontes is the most powerful. She intelligently utilizes all resources at her disposal, and is strong enough with the Force to levitate all the time, also she has her oneshotting Force Lighting on high range. Also her Hands and Reaches add a lot of power. Bestia is propabky the least impressive Master, she never really stood out.
  9. My Sentinel never romanced Kira anyway and he isn't going to romance Lana. My guardian will romance Theron, she didn't romance Doc. My Marauder will stay with Vette. My insta-60 Jugg will probs romance Koth just to see it out. My Gunslinger married Corso but will cheat on him for Theron, my Scounrel will stay loyal to Corso. My Commando will stay loyal to Aric. My Mercenary will stay loyal to Torian. Both my Sniper and Operative will stay with Vector. My Sage will stay with Iresso, Shadow never romanced him so she will go for Theron. She would have romances Tharan but he chose someone else. My Sorc was insta-60 and I guess she will romance Theron.
  10. Two stories: 1) Czerka Core HM Group: My Sage healer on mix of optimized 216-224, Sentinel DPS on optimized 220-224, Shadow tank on lowbie greens and lvl 50 Guardian DPS with no relics. I'm like, one DPS is geared and I can do some healdeeps, let's at least try. Shadow guards.... Lvl 50 Guardian. Well at least it's a DPS under guard. Guardian is leapy type, she pulls ahead of tank like a mad woman. Dies.... Once... Twice.... And keeps pulling ahead of the tank.... And is on Soresu. And taunts. I ask her "Hey <Guardianname> why are you trying to tank while you are labeled as DPS". Silence follows. Desert boss. Guardian opens with taunt, others follow in... Aggro goes to Sentinel in few seconds. Shadow doesn't taunt. First Sandstorm occurs, Sentinel is still tanking but he has popped Transcendence and is leading boss to generator... He is almsot there when.... Guardian taunts the boss to other direction. She leads it away for whole duration, wipe. Second try. Exaclty same scenario occurs expect that Shadow tank seems to have woken up and as Guardian taunts away from Sentinel he taunts the boss and leads it to generator. We down the boss, either Shadow or Sentienl executing generator mechanic. Jungle boss is a mess with nobody controlling the adds but Sentinel DPS is on spot and thanks to Shadow we get even some spores off, we down him on first try. Guardian dies a few times on trash before Vigilant too, nothing new. Vigilant. Guardian and Shadow drop AoE's wherever they happen to stand, usually on top of the cores, earlier doesn't even move out of them however me and Sent DPS whatever cores doesn't have AoE on top of them. Guardian dies at some point because I decide life of Sentinel is more valuable and those guys are on opposite sides of area. THE she speaks up with "n00b healer". we handle the rest of boss pretty fine, Shadow even realizes to put guard on Sentinel who finds his long lost Force Camouflage button and rest of fight goes properly! 2) DP as a PUG on guild run from Raptus, appeearly their previous healer left. I notice that first of all most of the group is below 65, OPS leader explains that it's "intro to OPS" run and he and me are the only ones who have done it before. I'm like, fine, lets give a shot. Most of people don't pick curses/pick wrong curse. Tank (OPS leader) is on spot and no one dies before challenges open. My cohealer never appears to challenge. Well, I go in and do it.... And DPS challenge fails and one player dies during challenges. DPS is very low but tank writes some OPS notations on chat (those with text in the middle of screen) and next time all challenges are passed. Then the rest of the fight is merry chaos. A player dies to Force Execution at some point and someone gets knocked off. We down it however! The OPS leader decides to call it off, giving me a DMC as compensation for getting lockout like that. I thank him and wish good luck for future. Maybe those little KDY graduates learn someday... And players like that OPS leader are their best bet for that.
  11. I was on DP, as PUG on a guild run with my Sage heals. There are two PUG DPS in group and guild decides to get rid of one for one of their guildies to join. Both are Sentinels. One has 77k HP, one 79k. I watch in awe how 77k DPS in optimized mix of 216/220/224 with 224 mainhand gets kicked in favor of 79k DPS on something that is mostly token gear seemingly made for guardian tanks and ENDURANCE STIM ACTIVE. And 77k DPS was there before that 79k DPS. Then we proceed to wipe on Bestia.
  12. When using a chestpiece that has a half-robe type backside such as Veteran Force-Lords Vestments with a long skirt such as Veteran Force-Lords Lower Robe the lower part of chestpiece falls down trough the skirt while in fighting position. It seems the chestpiece behaves like it would with pants. Is this a bug or intended behavior of these chestpieces?
  13. Bosses were well apart so I doubt it was AoE from anyone. Tank disparity propably explains some of it thou.
  14. Pug EC. One of the DPS has lockout so we decide to 7M firsr boss. I am alone on Zorn on my Sentinel, two other DPS, Gunslinger and Sage are on Toth. Zorn dies before Toth. I did 5200 DPS on that fight which means those two DPS did 2600 both, unless there is huge disparity on tank DPS. Do they randomly mash buttons or what?
  15. A bit offtrack but your Guard comment reminds me of phenomenom which I've been observing on PuG OPS. That everytime Guard is not on a healer Guard is put to Sentinel or Marauder DPS (there is one in like 90% groups) even if they were the least geared little piece of Jedi/Sith who runs Shii-Cho on Watchman. Might be just me but I swear I had this happen for at least 4 Pug OPS groups during past week.
  16. I'm by no means a specialist on this, so take with a grain of salt. However, I would suggest Sage/Sorc and Scoundrel/Operative healers, 2x Sentinel/Marauder, Gunslinger/Sniper, Commando/Merc DPS, and Vanguard/PT and Shadow/Sin tanks. Reasoning is that Scoundrels bring good numbers to table but are suspectible to burst, which Sage bubble and Wandeing Mend help to counteract. Sentinels have a spec for great sustained damage and for bust damage with decent sustained damage, making them a good choice for mDPS slots. They also bring invaluable raid buff. Commando has good AoE, and brings another raid buff to the table. Gunslingers bring the AoE damage reduction shield which is in my opinion very valuable to have on certain encounters. For tanks, Vanguard can ignore some mechanics with Hold the Line and Shadows in overal are versatile and mobile tanks. I'm propably just wrong but anywayys, fun thread!
  17. PUG TfB. Group is me Scound healer, Commando healer, Sentinel DPS, Gunslinger DPS, Scoundrel DPS, Guardian DPS, two Shadow tanks. Most issues were caused by one Shadow tank, Sentinel and Commando. We load and I notice Commando Plasma Cell. I ask if he forgot to swap and he tells me to not tell him what to do. First boss, one Shadow tank is assigned to boss (we call her Shadow 1) and other (we call him Shadow 2) to adds. Boss tank opens with taunt and loses aggro to Sentinel immediately. I notice Sentinel threat drop but it does nothing. Male spawns, and Sent leaps to it right away. For a moment he has aggro on both male and the boss until thankfully other Shadow taunts male away. We down Writhing Horror without further problems. On tunnel Commando tries to fight enemies instead of running and dies. Guy resses and runs back while we others clear the way to Dread Guard commanders. Dread Guard commanders, Shadow 1 is assigned to Heirad and Shadow 2 to Kel'sara. We clear Ciphas phase without problems but second phase Commando dies due not cleaning Doom. I ress him but then he doesn't move himself from a pool and dies again. We down them anyway. Off to Operator. Before we get there Shadow 1 dies not once but twice on lighting between cores. Operator. People don't understand colors so raid leader who is Shadow 2 tells everyone individually their color. On first phase I notice only Guardian and Sentinel kill cores. They manage however. Second color, Sentinel channels and Guardian cannot kill cores fast enough alone. We have to repeat phase and this time it works. Third color, Commando doesn't stand in middle, we fail it, wipe. Second try, Gunslinger realizes to Kill cores and we down it. I pull Commando to middle when we have to Kephess goes down slightly chaotic but without big issues. The Terror. I get grouped with Shadow 1, Sentinel and Guardian. We start the encounter, Sentinel quickly reaps aggro on tentacle. He threat drops too but aggro stays on him. Then, once adds spawn he leaps on them and blows two of them to his face. He dies, gets revieved and does the EXACT SAME THING AGAIN on next adds phase. Wipe. Next try, Sentinel gets moved to other group and we down it.
  18. I was the weird one. Rav SM, I join from M&B. I smash the boss like other DPS do, but for some reason I'm not getting some of the buffs Infiltration spec should get. Sentinel: <My name> why you have Force technique activated? I saw you use Clairvoyant Strike Me: Oh... *Activates Shadow Techinque* I just respecced and forgot entirely to swap
  19. How about scheduling two different maintanances; on American servers when its night there, and on European servers when its night there. Patching would cause much less complaint about playerbase if it wasn't during primetime for large portion of players.
  20. With certain stone table on Voss...
  21. First of all, I do understand that you want to gate how fast people progress on gear, but I strongly believe making highlighted HM only way to do gearing reliably is a mistake. It is a fact some people put more effort in this game and they should be rewarded for doing so. There are people such as myself, who run SM's reliably and are peeking their nose to HM content, and for us highlighted HM is a nice way to slowly obtain best gear. Keyword: slowly. However there are people who are simply better players than us should have the opportunity to gear faster by doing harder content. If they can, they should be rewarded for it. Its not big amount of players anyway; it can't hurt to make those loots guaranteed for them. Same time it would encourage guilds who are doing HM's easily to do NiM. I understand that story content serves needs of many players, but once story is done they may as well quit. Operation content is one of the factors that encourage them to stay; at least I came for story but stayed for operations. Please, only catering for one group of players will make many of your loyal customers sad. I believe I speak for quite a group of players by saying we would love a new Operation, even Flashpoint, PvP map or cross-server queue, but if it takes too much work at the moment to provide these (which is understandable since we know you are working with quite limited resources) very least change NiM loot to something that encourages players to develop their skills. Edited for typo. -Adaliaya
