MaladorTheGreat
40k is really cheap when I got mine I had 50k and had enough. It is common MMO knowledge that mounts cost a lot of creds. Now that you know it you should carry on and enjoy the game.
ZenBones
Because I was trying to do some crafting, I was nearly broke (less than 1k left) at level 16. But by the time I got to level 25, I paid the 40k and had another 75k left over. Mostly just due to questing, but also with some slicing along the way. I still think the price is excessive, but it's easily doable.
Abimelech
OP you make me laugh. 40k, well 48k if you have to buy your own Speeder, is not that hard to accumulate. Also you can always take on slicing, on your main character or another, and have well over 100k by the time you're 25.

SOONERFREAK
Buying the extra bag space was stupid, the game even says at 20 to start saving. Doing daily space missions and spending a lot on my crew skills I still have 52k at 24.........
Cryshal
I just want to say one thing more. All the posts telling how players made their credits was helpful. But, why do some players find it so cute to be demeaning to others. There are differences in ability to play these games, and we pay for them so we have just as much right to be here. If we ask for help, why do you find it necessary to be rude and tell us we are stupid? Are you like that in everyday life?

Pherdnut
I had 20K at level 20. Then I blew it all on crafting. : ( I'm not too worried about making 40K by 25, however. Especially as the economy starts to pick up and make some sense.

iMate
That's a @$@#%^!@ outrage! 1. The amount is simply ridiculous and way too high. 2. With #1 being kept firmly in mind; SOME FREAKING WARNING WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE - maybe could have saved for it, instead of recently shelling out 20,000 credits for an extra row of baggage space. I just hit 25 for the first time and the game's just gone from being fun for the story and play's sake, to whoring for credits. Great job, Bioware. What really pisses me off as an old school gamer is knowing that the absurdity of this will sink into some thick producer's skull sometime down the line and the price will be lowered... lotta good that does the rest of us now. hope this is a troll.. i had 150k at 25.. Laggmonster
I just made about 5k credits playing around with Slicing in between spending half of that on Salvage crew missions while sitting around on our slow slow laptop watching the misses play on the good comp. Character is level 16. I gotta say, the way the crew missions are set up as a gamble on invested time and credits vs possible returns is fun in itself. I feel more like I'm playing at a casino table than farming or doing dailies. Very impressive Bioware.

TomWhiting
You got a warning when you hit level 20. Unfortunately, it was a tutorial and anyone who turned off tutorials probably didn't see it. Tutorials = annoying to a veteran. Baaaad place to have put this notice. Oh well Guess I gotta save up then As others have said, 40k @ 25 is a breeze. No, really, it's a breeze. I recently dumped 20k into my second bag slot (taking me down to almost nothing), and have close to 10k an hour later. It's NOT that hard to come up with these. Quest, quest, quest, quest, and sell, sell, sell sell. You'll be surprised at how quickly you come up with 40k. [edit] Wait, is it 40k for the MOUNT, or just the skill? If it's 40k for the MOUNT, I'm set, as a CE owner. If it's 40k for the skill, then, I still got a bit of work to do Edited December 24, 2011 by TomWhiting
ebunts
Alright, I do a few missions, earn some credits, send my companions out for resource gathering, become broke, and then do it all over again. When I logged off yesterday I spent what I had, made back two to three thousand credits. Logged back in today, did missions, and now at 23k credits and come tomarrow will become broke again as I continue my crafting. I am at level 23 and half way to level 24 and not worried about how much credits I have. I have not expanded my inventory yet either. You do know you can send your companion to sell the junk while your doing missions, which keeps your inventory empty, for the most part, so no real need to expand the inventory slots, atleast not til later on
Zethenn
I bought the first 3 or four extra inventory slots and I still had the money to buy the training, however if I had remembered about the faster training at 40 I would not have bought that 100k inventory slot. Nycth
I'd just like to say that I'm glad that the credit cost is so high. It makes it feel more worthwhile when you finally get your speeder.

I forgot which level it was, but a message pops up telling you to start saving for your speeder. Also, 40k credits is nothing. From quests/PvP/ and crafting I had around 70k when I hit 25. And I wasn't spending too much time crafting, I mostly just quested. I honestly don't know how you didn't have enough credits.

Larce_Apollo
To be honest, it may not be expensive enough. Most players/clan members I know have at least 200k+ by that level. If you spend your credits on stupid stuff, skip loads of content, ignore space, don't actually do flashpoints, craft/slice, PvP, etc, etc, then yeah 40k may seem like a lot.... /snicker I bet you gonna rage when you spend 50k on a skill, 80k on speeders, or 1.5 mill on one, pay 5k+ for one consumable, etc, etc. I laugh at all the people who think they are "rich" with 200-300k credits, even the 1mill folks are a joke. Maybe when you have 20mill credits you can say that. Game has a lot of money sinks, get used to it. PS: At level 35 I have bought 40k training, 8k bike, 5k and 20k invo expansions, and a 40k cargo hold expansion and still have 150k credits. On top of all the skills I buy and the occasional weapon for my companions. I make my own armor so that helps a little. Dgator
You got a warning when you hit level 20. Unfortunately, it was a tutorial and anyone who turned off tutorials probably didn't see it. lol if you're turning off tutorials when you obviously still need them, you got no excuse when you hit 25 and didn't save up. I got a warning myself at 20, and saved up. The OP needs to turn tutorials back on until he knows the game, and stop blaming the game for his problems.
