B&B W&W ...2k and 1k... what are you guys thinking?

Okay most stuff on the cartel market is expensive and I'm okay with it since it's in the collections area and I have the option to have all my characters have it. But 2k CC (or 15 bucks) for an item I can only use once and that's it? Seriously Bioware/EA?? come on... this NEEDS to be in the Collections listing if you're going to keep it at 2k. I want these dyes badly but not so badly enough that I'm gonna pay 15 bucks for it and NOT be able to reuse it ... You're gouging us now ...

What I see by this pricing point is this...

1. That a single B&B non reusable dye which would dye one piece of my armor costs the same amount as my month subscription fee and ALL the access that implies...

2. This dye is more expensive than any single FULL SET of purchasable armor on the market...

3. This dye is 45% of the cost of a hypercrate of the latest cartel packs.

4. I could buy any two types of name changes with it.

5. for the price of one B&B dyeI could buy every space equipment pack and still have CC left over

The list goes on...and I'd love someone from Bioware/EA to explain why one dye is worth more than any of the aforementioned items...

Seriously... what are you guys thinking?? I'd love for someone to explain to me why a color as desired as Black and Black or White and White are so expensive. And please don't give me that they should be rare excuse. In every Starwars book and movie there is no shortage of black or white dyed clothing...

They are high demand that is true. But to charge 15+ for a non reusable item? That's gouging. In most MMO's and RPG's that allow customization dyeing clothes is one of the rudimentary and most expected feature. Every game I've played that has had it, NEVER charged me 15 bucks per one time use dye. If you think that's right and you're willing to pay it that's good for you. This is a demand they created by making the items rare then throwing out an obscene price for it. To me, that's gouging your loyal customer base. They made a direct choice, and while it's their choice to make that doesn't make it the RIGHT choice. If these dyes were part of the Collections THEN and only THEN could I see the 2k price tag worth it.

Then answer me this. Why arn't you barging into fancy restaurants demanding them to lower the prices are their 20+ dollar meals? Those are considered consumable just like the dyes and also a luxury just like the dyes.

Okay first of all, are you really comparing a substantial item like food which has a real life application to a pixalated item purchased for entertainment reasons? Wow....

Second, I don't eat at fancy restaurants I prefer to cook my own meals where I can save money, eat healthier and actually know whats in my food.

Lastly, if this is such a non issue for you as you obviously think it is send a few B&B dyes my way. 20 bucks is nothing to you right? As a subscriber it would be nice not to have to save up 3 to 4 months worth of cartel coins just to get ONE dye....

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that. But who the hell are you to judge me for mine? I have every right to voice my concerns and opinions on this forum.

Way to miss the point bro. It doesn't matter if you cook or not I said fancy restaurants for a reason. They are optional and considered a luxury for those whose who can afford and if you can't, that's okay you don't need to eat there anyways.

High valued and sought after dyes are considered a luxury and as such Bioware decided to price them that way to provide players an alternative to recieving these items easier than gambling. If you can't afford you still have plenty of other options to get it otherwise.

Dont forget: cost as much as the Expansion, with a new planet, new quests, new lvl cap, new armors, new skills

First of all, it's not gouging. Price gouging is a term that gets tossed around, but it's not applicable. Price gouging is limited to necessities. Bread, milk, gasoline ... when there is a shortage of those, raising the price too much can be gouging. A luxury item (as everything in this game is a luxury) that costs a stupid amount is not price gouging.

Second, I agree that these are priced way too high. I can't imagine that demand will be too high for these things with the price so high. They could charge 1/2 or even 1/4 the price and sell a whole lot more of them. And even at that price, I'd still balk at the price they've set for that type of consumable.

Honestly, I just wish they'd get rid of the random dyes in packs and give dyes to all the crafting professions, with the exception of cybertech, who could make the frameworks for the dyes. So, you'd get two dyes, open up the framework, then drop one of the dyes in the primary and one on the secondary. Then you'd have a dye module for an item. Of course, it would make more sense to me just to have two dye slots on an item, but I'm not designing the thing, unfortunately.

I'm just wondering why they chose the colors and combinations they chose. There are some simply atrocious combinations out there of various pastels and other colors, but I can't fine a decent white/red where the red doesn't just blend in with the black around it or any white/blue at all. Oh, but I can get light green/deep green. Or deep blue/white. Maybe next we'll get fuschia/mauve. One can only hope.

No, I don't.

That's why I'm not going to buy them.

On the other hand, I also don't think that complaining about it in the forum makes any difference whatsoever, mainly because people have been complaining about every single thing for so long that the forum is basically a joke and definitely not to be taken seriously.

If enough people agree that the prices are too high, then they will eventually have to lower the prices to make the money they thought they'd make at 1/2k per dye.

It's quite simple really: express your dissatisfaction with your wallet not your words.

I agree.

People are paying much more than 1K of CC worth in credits on my server for W/W.

AMEN!...OMG!...To Expensive!...Like everything else in SWtor.

SHAME ON YOU BIOWARE!!

Gouging is illegal. This was EZ/Bioware saying ..."let's watch the stupid kids make us bundles of cash on their mom's Credit cards, while we sit back and say, look at these idiots line our pockets."

Creating armor and coloring it should be part of the Customization booth...Mods should cost In game cash/CC/play time drops ONLY!!...You should be able to change the "look" of your toon at any time, daily if you wish, costing limited in game cash only!!

I want my 3-4 main toonz to have W/W armor...I'm screwed. (maybe I can get a 3rd job to pay for it)

Let the kids play barbies without costing $100.oo a pop!

price gouging...Not quite sure you know what that means.

Gouging only occurs on basic necessities and only when taken to excess when compared to supply/demand.

I suppose Porsche dealers are "gouging" their clients? these are LUXURY items meant to be both RARE and EXPENSIVE....

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. There is no requirement that you own these.

I WANT a Porsche, but alas I can't afford it. So I do without. as much as I may WANT something, doesn't mean I should have it. If people want it bad enough, find away to get it (save money, work more etc). If someone REALLY want W/W or B/B dye kits, save up money, buy off GTN, take chances on the dye kits or Mitch and Boan about the cost, yell and scream throw a tantrum and hope that someone feels sorry enough to lower the price. One of these ways is what the forums do..the others will actually get you an item eventually.

Dont forget that EA is involved in this.

If you think these prices are bad, check the Sims 3 online store. You pay several euros or dollars for single items.

An item that has a new interaction can cost something like 15 euros, often they force you to buy a larger pack that contains the item even because its not sold seperatly.

Anything EA touches dies because of their greed. Ask Westwood and Bullfrog. Let's hope Bioware is not next on their hitlist.

I have to admit that black and black dye module looks great. The problem is that I have never seen a dye module on ANY mmo that is actually sold on the cash store. They have outfits and armor true, but usually dyes are items sold exclusively by in game merchants. EA is just plain greedy.

IF the B&B dye modules were collection purchases for 2k MAYBE they would be worth it. But basically, if fools are willing to pay the money, EA will charge it. They have few scruples and no respect for their customers. They will milk them dry and the customers know they are being fleeced. The problem is that they keep going back, and EA caring more about the bottom line than customer satisfaction will not drop the prices.

This is the 2010s, the whole world is greedy, the average person looks out for number one and the corporations follow suit If this was the 1950s they would be out of business fast, then America was family oriented. In order to survive then you had to give the impression that were you helping out the American family, customer satisfaction and public image were everything then. Now they are open and obvious in their greed and have no use for such things.

The sad truth is that until society itself is less greedy and more concerned about their fellow man then themselves, EA won't change. A large business will be not be deciding to hold itself up as an example of selflessness and compassion in order to be a trendsetter.

OMG! NO NO NO and NO. Don't expect anyone but YOU to have your best interests in mind. Freedom is a good thing, if you want to be dependent on someone else (government, business, etc) sure there are some socialist dictators who will LOVE to have your best interest in mind.

GAH! this one statement alone says everything that is wrong in society. Socialism doesn't work!!! </rant>

Agreed. I would like to know why pull them. If people thought they were too much, fine, don't buy them. I did not want to spend the hours to grind for GTN prices, so I got one. I would like the option to get more if I choose.
