Tried this with my RTX 2080, didn't work. Wish they could fix this the proper way. Till they do I still won't be playing. But I'm still open to try a fix when one comes along. Thanks for the link and the thought, and also keeping this thread somewhat alive.

I don't think this is ever going to be addressed. I'd love to keep playing and I really enjoyed the game when it looks good but I can't play it with my monitor and I got this monitor specifically for gaming. But I can't enjoy it with everything stretched out and I've tapped the limit of what I can reasonably do to get it working. I hate to unsub that's exactly where I'm at now.

Yep tried all modes... I've tried so many things to get it to work. I LOVE my ultrawide and I'm frustrated that I can't play SWTOR but it IS a SWTOR issue they've never addressed or fixed. If you want to keep playing I'd suggest against getting an Ultrawide given the frustration it's given me. I do find it ridiculous that the SWTOR team hasn't fixed this issue. EVERY OTHER GAME I play handles just fine and is awesome on an ultrawide monitor. SWTOR unfortunately is the outlier and it sucks.

I built a whole new system. I'm no longer using the 980ti I'm using a 2080 Super. All my other games worked perfectly fine with the 980ti and also now work fine with the 2080 Super.

My monitor is a 144hz ultra wide. It's meant to be run at that refresh rate and resolution. I've also made sure the resolution in game is correct. It's an issue with how SWTOR pulls the max resolution info from windows rather than what is actually set by the graphics card.

So as a followup. I built a whole new PC with new graphics card (I was due anyway) but still have the same screen issue. The game is unplayable. Unless I can come up with a solution looks like I'll be cancelling my subscription and deleting the game. Very disappointing that I can't get this game to work properly on my monitor.

Yeah that's what I did last night. Took forever to re-download the game. Still having the same graphical issues on screen though. Switching to my native resolution makes character and in game models look stretched. Leaving it at the resolution it is currently at is the only way to sorta play it. I'm really frustrated that I can't just play on the resolution I want and everything look fine like in other games.

SO just an update. I re-installed Windows 10, and then re-installed SWTOR. If I change my resolution to 2160x1600 I have boarders but the game looks normal... if I switch it back to 3440x1440 which is my monitors native resolution it goes back to being goofy. I have also now found that I cannot play anything but a new character on the starting planets because it says it still needs to download a patch but there is no download happening and at the launcher it says everything is downloaded. So resolution still isn't fixed (though it's playable with boarders). But I can't play it because it says it's still patching in game even though it isn't.

Well last night I did something stupid. I decided I would do a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers. That lead to hours trying to get the Nvidia control panel back. Which failed because now the only way to get it is from Microsoft's stupid app store and it errors every time I try to install it. So I've decided to do a complete wipe of the OS drive and do a clean install of Windows. As soon as I get that done I'll try to install SWTOR again.... this has turned into a nightmare.

I appreciate the help. I've uninstalled the game. I'm gonna do some quick clean ups then I'll re-install it. I'm using a bit older hardware as I still a 980ti. I was actually going to do a full system upgrade (The monitor was the first part since I needed one) . But then I heard that there were new graphics cards coming from Nvidia and new chips from AMD only a few months away so I figured I'd wait. Once I get the re-install complete I'll let you know where things stand.

I'm using the Display port cable. I did update the firmware for my display port on my GPU as well. That didn't help, so I tried with the HDMI cable. That also failed. I can definitely try to uninstall and re-install the game using the HDMI cable but to get the 144hz I have to use the display port. I'm also not exactly convinced uninstalling and re-installing the game is going to fix this issue.

When I load the game the menu's all look normal but character models and in game models (IE Planets etc) all look stretched.

I'd be fine playing with boarders if that meant everything looked right. But I haven't been able to even get that to work. I'm at my wits end and ready to just chalk it up to not working and uninstall and unsubscribe again.

Hi all, I'm not a new player but this seemed the most appropriate place to put this. I got a new 3440x1440 21:9 monitor for gaming. I was a long time subscriber to SWTOR but stopped for a long time due to work and other life demands. I resubscribed before I got my monitor but I was really looking forward to playing with an ultrawide. Little did I realize that SWTOR hates to use native resolutions and looks at the EDID in the registry. I've seen, read through and tried every "fix" posted on these forums and Reddit that I can find, including: Updating my monitor and gpu drivers Updating my GPU's firmware (using a MSI GTX980ti) Using CRU to remove unnecessary resolutions. Trying to manually update the resolution in the APPDATA\swtor settings ini file. Trying a different cable, HDMI (I'm currently using the Display port adapter). Tried using windowed mode. Tried using window Full screen mode. Tried using both the HDMI and Display port cable to use PIP and move the windowed mode version of the game Attempted to "Force" the aspect ration in several configurations in the NVIDIA control panel Used NVIDIA's "Game Experience" to optimize and run SWTOR I downloaded and tried to use the Extron EDID program and another EDID software but got utterly confused on the directions by the original poster and couldn't find anything online that gave a step by step on how to mess with it. I've done all this with no luck. I'm at the end of my rope and ready to just pack it in and unsubscribe. Every other game runs just fine at the right resolution and aspect ratio without having to go through all this mess. I love SWTOR which is why I did all this but honestly it's unplayable at this point and I'm out of things to try. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks

I've been trying to find an answer to this but if I have a pre leveled 60 character can I delete it and still have a pre level 60 character slot? (I'm a subscriber and got one as part of the subscriber thing when KTOFE was released). I created a character but think I want to change the character now. Thanks!

So my character (Sith Warrior) is supposed to be this super powerful all encompassing hero of the Galaxy, right? I'm supposed to be this big deal that can stand up to anything the galaxy can throw at me... or so the story tells me. But why dear god why is it that I spend most of my time when fighting exarchs or other Heroic bosses stunned, or on my back with only a few seconds to hit the boss. Now before anyone says "Get better" I'm good with my character and I don't loose these battles I can complete them. My problem is the annoyance that for about 80% of the fight I have no control over my character, and it frustrates me to no end. So why is it that recently that the boss fights, instead of being more creative are basically stunning you for 20 seconds every 10 seconds while you get pummeled to hell? Why not take the less imagined "Stun" effects and put in ops mechanics that don't require you to lose control of your character but force you to use them instead?? TLDR; Please for the love of the force stop adding bosses that make your character look weak where you lose control of your character and put different mechanics for Heroic boss fights! Thanks

Welp I'm coming to my wits end. I love this game. I want to play this game. I'm unable to play it, and have not been able to play it since 4.1. If I can't get the patch and play why am I paying for it? I've called the support desk and went through all the stuff they said. Still getting the same errors. Stuck on downloading 16.97 gigs now and getting "Network error while downloading patch data. retrying...(310)" I don't want to unsubscribe, I've been subscribed and playing since day one. But if I cannot play the game why pay for it. Are you guys gonna fix this or are you gonna lose a customer?

Just wanted to voice some feedback on the new cartel packs. I decided to buy a hypercrate because I really wanted to get the new lightsaber you hyped up. Upon opening every single pack do you know how many "new" items I got?? 5... out of all those packs I got 5, 4 of which were Skotia's armor boxes. The rest were those stupid cubes which gave me a lot of old crap. If this is how the packs are going to be I will not be buying anymore of them. I'm done. Serious why can't you just put the new armor sets and weapons up for individual sale and find something else to put in the packs?

Anyone heard anything about this yet? Bioware has people screaming for this set, it's been asked for since the game came out and we're still stuck waiting? Bioware hasn't given a peep as to why it's been delayed and they really need to let us know when it's coming out. We've waited long enough already.

Okay first of all, are you really comparing a substantial item like food which has a real life application to a pixalated item purchased for entertainment reasons? Wow.... Second, I don't eat at fancy restaurants I prefer to cook my own meals where I can save money, eat healthier and actually know whats in my food. Lastly, if this is such a non issue for you as you obviously think it is send a few B&B dyes my way. 20 bucks is nothing to you right? As a subscriber it would be nice not to have to save up 3 to 4 months worth of cartel coins just to get ONE dye.... You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that. But who the hell are you to judge me for mine? I have every right to voice my concerns and opinions on this forum.

They are high demand that is true. But to charge 15+ for a non reusable item? That's gouging. In most MMO's and RPG's that allow customization dyeing clothes is one of the rudimentary and most expected feature. Every game I've played that has had it, NEVER charged me 15 bucks per one time use dye. If you think that's right and you're willing to pay it that's good for you. This is a demand they created by making the items rare then throwing out an obscene price for it. To me, that's gouging your loyal customer base. They made a direct choice, and while it's their choice to make that doesn't make it the RIGHT choice. If these dyes were part of the Collections THEN and only THEN could I see the 2k price tag worth it.

Okay most stuff on the cartel market is expensive and I'm okay with it since it's in the collections area and I have the option to have all my characters have it. But 2k CC (or 15 bucks) for an item I can only use once and that's it? Seriously Bioware/EA?? come on... this NEEDS to be in the Collections listing if you're going to keep it at 2k. I want these dyes badly but not so badly enough that I'm gonna pay 15 bucks for it and NOT be able to reuse it ... You're gouging us now ... What I see by this pricing point is this... 1. That a single B&B non reusable dye which would dye one piece of my armor costs the same amount as my month subscription fee and ALL the access that implies... 2. This dye is more expensive than any single FULL SET of purchasable armor on the market... 3. This dye is 45% of the cost of a hypercrate of the latest cartel packs. 4. I could buy any two types of name changes with it. 5. for the price of one B&B dyeI could buy every space equipment pack and still have CC left over The list goes on...and I'd love someone from Bioware/EA to explain why one dye is worth more than any of the aforementioned items... Seriously... what are you guys thinking?? I'd love for someone to explain to me why a color as desired as Black and Black or White and White are so expensive. And please don't give me that they should be rare excuse. In every Starwars book and movie there is no shortage of black or white dyed clothing...

You guys would make a lot more money from me and I'm sure others (Please /sign if you agree) if you would make Black and Black, Black and White, White and Black, and White and White dyes available for individual purchase on the cartel market. These are the most sought after colors and why they have to be so rare and expensive is beyond me. Please make this happen. /Signed
