So-low
So as a slinger/sniper you can roll in place by hitting your roll, then immediately afterwards jump (like .1 seconds after using roll), making it so the scatter bombs drop in 1 spot instead of spread out. You can use this as a single target or aoe attack, and it does about 12k-20k (depending on crits) damage each time to anyone within 5m or so. If sabotage is up you can chain it back to back. As fun and hilarious as 1-2 shotting people/entire groups is, this should probably be looked at. Edited July 12, 2013 by So-low

Try make a vid or pic, and send mail it to the developers as evidence. Considering the amount of damage output it very much seems those were never meant to be blown up on such close quarters. Sure, in a moment we'll be seeing the horde of people shouting that's a "nerf" -- but the term "nerf" only applies to downsizing performance of something legit. What you've stated does not sound 'legit' at all. Edited July 12, 2013 by kweassa

Raazmir
I can back this up, i ran around fleet for like three weeks doing the roll hop, though i was lethality at the time so it was really more like crop dusting.
Zunayson
It was only a matter of time OP: I'm glad you told me I can jump to cancel it. I always just did it against a wall... I did 6k crit to a squishy shadow who had no expertise. So yeah 30k, though the chances of all 5 critting @ a 30% crit chance is .00243% Edited July 12, 2013 by Zunayson
KhalDrogoe
I've only seen it done against a wall also. But it should be looked at by the devs.
Jakev-
Copy And Paste of my post from Bug Reports section: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=659504 So.. There seems to be an Unintended Bug/exploit here with the engineering sniper roll. I had my friend record and Highlight it. In this First clip, this is the easiest to do and could happen frequently in a warzone. You get knocked back into a wall by the sniper getting rooted there. Then the sniper sets up his Interrigation probe, Explosive probe, Plasma probe (Top Tier Talent), walks up to you does one roll which drops all his scatterbombs, EMP Discharges and rolls on you again dropping more scatterbombs. Results in basically an Insta-kill. Wallbang: http://www.twitch.tv/skillxx/c/2553066 In The Second Clip the sniper can Jump and Roll in place on you dropping all his scatterbombs with correct timing with about a 50/50 chance of success. (Sorry about a little mumble chatter in there ) Rollbang: http://www.twitch.tv/skillxx/c/2553075 The simplest solution would seem to be to have the skill drop one bomb per every so many meters (on an 18 meter roll, once every 3.6 meters). This way they cannot all blow up on one person either in the open or against a wall, but they will still function exactly as intended. I would think most snipers playing that spec would have just keep that advantage to themselves, instead of making video bringing the bug to light. Bourk
The ability to roll in place on top of someone with an explosive probe also results in near oneshots. I played this game earlier today just to pull off a bunch of explosive probe / roll combos :
Jakev-
It is pretty ridiculous when people are exploiting against us in Rated warzones... our team wont stoop to that level.
Skolops
If anyone needs further proof of just how absolutely absurd this little trick is, take a look: http://www.twitch.tv/lazerlike42/c/2561942 That is 100% repeatable and it is not at all difficult. Even in ranked warzones with teams guarding people and pumping heals into them, folks die instantly through the guard and heals. You can do it against a wall, or just in open space like in this video. venomlash
As fun and hilarious as 1-2 shotting people/entire groups is, this should probably be looked at. That's what we all said about Focus/Rage/lolsmash. And lo, after several months they finally nerfed the spec a little bit to where it's only slightly overpowered! What I'm saying is, don't hold your breath.
Jenzali
To fix this unintended mechanic and provide a more balanced footing between classes, I propose that the Scatter Bombs talent be available for Operatives and Scoundrels for use with their roll. Trephination
The only thing that needs adjusting here is the ability to roll in place by jumping at roughly the same time as using roll. "Wall-banging" someone is a fun gimmick for regs and pve and gives the underplayed engi spec something to do besides area denial.
Monterone
I can vouch for this being true. Roll and jump sets off all the bombs at your own spot, simply dismembering the people next to you. It's probably an unintended 'feature' and needs to be looked at.

JeffSantos
I think its a systematic overlook or glitch -- rather than "OP"ness. Yeah, this is not just a matter of being OP, it's a really wrong mechanic. It's absurd to instakill a fully min-maxed tank with almost 40k, and yeah, I've seen it several times. So, Bioware, please, FIX THIS ASAP!
