  1. People are over-complicating things. The real truth is in the following simple set of questions. Actually, these questions are so remarkable that they are answers at the same time. 1. Is there Huttball available in ranked queue?
  2. I can confirm this is the only interesting thread on this forum since 2013.
  3. 1: Vano 2: <Resolute> 3: Jedi Guardian 4: Voidstar 5: Medals - 26 6: http://puu.sh/b1uj4/304f8d13f3.jpg
  4. What headpiece did you use to hide the hood?
  5. These pictures have been posted so many times already, but I can't resist showing off the armor sets I use for my family of identical clones. 6. Um, isn't it the exact opposite? I have yet to experience how it actually works in game, but if you can only press it twice before it throws it at your feet then you can't spam anymore. As a bad player, I spam the pass key all the time when stunlocked hoping to pass it as soon as the stun ends. With this change, we'll have to stop spamming the pass hotkey while stunned otherwise it will essentially give the ball away to the enemies near you. In essence it will be a buff to stun abilities because you'll have to be extra careful to wait until the stun is entirely over before attempting to pass.
  7. Excellent read, Euphrosyne. You have managed to convince me that Thanaton actually has motivations that make sense. I've always had quite a few complaints with the quality of the writing in the Sith Inquisitor story, and Thanaton's apparent lack of convincing motivations was near the top of that list. Another example is his fondness of unspecified "traditions" as a reason to hate the player character. I thought it IS a Sith tradition for an apprentice to kill his or her master, so what exactly makes the player character (or even Zash for that matter) un-"traditional"? The underlying issue is the storywriting - even though all of Thanaton's motivations could be argued as logically sound, they all seem nonsensical in the context of the story thus making Thanaton possibly one of the most uninteresting and unconvincing characters in the game. The reason for this is that the Sith Inquisitor is made to seem like an idiot because of the way that he/she never initiates any actions or plans; rather it is a series of events that happens to the player character without the player's input and without allowing the player to show any form of intelligence or initiative. So if Thanaton's rival seems like a complete moron, no matter how logical Thanaton is, he will seem like even more of a moron for losing.
  8. Assuming factional loyalty is a mistake a lot of people make. Like approaching someone and using their name just because it is visible above their head, or assuming that all Imperial Agents are actually agents in RP. Back onto the original topic, there was something similar posted on swtor-rp recently: http://swtor-rp.com/home/m/1639454/article/2063013
  9. Antagonizing Aric Jorgan as a Trooper is incredibly fun, especially during the various hearings with Senators. You can get him all riled up. If I remember correctly there were plenty of opportunities throughout the whole storyline and I loved every minute of it http://i.imgur.com/rjeCYso.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CyU6ZWb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Sg2Qpe8.jpg My Trooper provoked him at every opportunity, but apparently there was some unspoken respect because he later promoted him to Lieutenant. Elara Dorne was too "by the books" and wasn't practical like Jorgan was. Oh, I did also manage to get -422 affection with Kira. Or something like that: http://i.imgur.com/hkInt.jpg
  10. I always knew the day would come that "FOTM" and "Merc" would be in the same sentence
  11. To be more exact about it, the craftable orange "set" isn't even truly a set, because it doesn't match with itself - the gloves, belt, bracers, and boots are all identical to the counterparts from the green version you get on Tython, but the chestpiece and legs are identical to the Ambitious Warrior set in the new cartel pack. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a mistake that never got corrected. In this thread, we are lookinng for an adaptable, moddable version of the green set from Tython. The Ambitious Warrior set is very nice to have and I will be buying it. But the other really nice set was unfortunately skimped.
  12. Make it direct-purchase and I'll pay all my Cartel Coins for it.
  13. I knew something was slightly "off" but I didn't realize the armor was actually butchered. Across the HoloNet there was momentary celebration until someone pointed it out. Then depressed sighs of resignation took their place. Want to look like a regular Jedi and not a stripper? Dream on. Here's my Jedi Padawan, forever frozen in time and abstaining from combat until he can get his armor: http://assets.enjin.com/wall_embed_images/1375573009_crystalcave.jpg
  14. It's not easier to get achievements on PvE servers, because no one flags themselves. Even someone with your amount of free time would not be able to gain the planetary 1000 player kills achievements
  15. The Sith Inquisitor is a brute, an unintelligent thug that just uses lightning to solve his or her problems. Ironically, the Inquisitor actually the character that is the victim of the most manipulations, despite the class being advertised as being modeled after Palpatine. If you want to manipulate others and turn Jedi to the dark side, play the Sith Warrior. Where the Inquisitor is gullible, the Warrior is cunning.
  16. Farming requires direct attention and requires you to be in a certain place. Crafting, on the other hand, requires little conscious effort and can be done anywhere and in tandem with other activities. It is also an activity that you can do on all your characters simultaneously, while farming is limited to one character. The only person who's really going to be making 300k an hour here is you. People who actually need and have the desire to farm will probably not be willing to give 300k for a non-guaranteed return on their investment, especially if the act of farming might drive them insane. The only impressive thing is that you managed to find something farmable that works for 20 people simultaneously. These things are often nerfed very quickly.
  17. It is interesting to see a post like this, because the exact same points you bring up to say why the Imperial Makeb story was good are the exact same points that, in my opinion, resulted in that story utterly failing to capture my interest. It took me a long time to slog through that story and eventually the only reason I managed to finish it was because I wanted the achievement at the end (I do 100% completion of all planets). Disclaimer: I am "that kind" of RPG player that prefers deeply personal stories with character growth, rather than those stories that involve saving the galaxy, or are spurred onwards by nothing other than an NPC telling you how important your mission is rather than you feeling and experiencing its importance for yourself. I like KOTOR II more than I, for example. Star Wars: The Old Republic is the story of our player characters. In my case, it was someone who started off as a lowly piece of bounty hunter scum and went on to Makeb, on the other hand, is the story of abstract events in a war that we don't really care about. In Chapters 1-3 the war is only there as a backdrop for the development of our player characters, and the relationships between their companions and important class story NPCs like Darth Baras, Darth Thanaton, Darth Tormen, Jadus, Ardun Kothe, Hunter, etc. The war is only there so that we can see and experience our characters growing. In the prequel trilogy, we don't really care that much about the Rebels winning, rather than Luke, Han, and Leia winning. We only cared about the fleet battle because we saw how Luke grew from a simple farm boy to a Jedi Knight, Han from a scoundrel to a friend with a heart of gold. In Makeb, there are no characters worth caring about, and most importantly my character had no stake in the story. He was given no opportunity to be challenged, nor to grow as a character. The final icing on the cake is the fact that your companions are utterly silent throughout. Even if I cared about "powerfulness" of enemies in terms of narrative progression, Makeb would fail even there. Someone who defeated a Dark Council member is suddenly being stymied by random mercenaries and droids? You mention tension and urgency, but I find it difficult to imagine it feeling urgent for anyone but the most indoctrinated of Imperial loyalists. Katha Niar was treating my bounty hunter as if he was raised in the Imperial military and would die for the Empire, and Lord Cytharat was far too one-dimensional in that his only purpose was to give his life for the mission. "My life for you" he said every other line. I GET IT already! When the time came for me to choose whether or not to save him, the choice was meaningless because I didn't care about him as a character, and the choice remained meaningless after because regardless of whether you save him or not, he is out of the story. Villains. There were no villains at all. All we did was fight random hired thugs and a crap ton of droids that were supposedly unstoppable. The only villain was the Archon, and he was largely forgettable. Makeb had better pacing, but its failure as a story in my opinion is probably just due to the fact that I am comparing it, a generic one-size-fits-all story, with the excellent and deeply personal class stories.
  18. My favorite place for the Sniper to set up on NV is on top of the pillar with your back lodged into the corner. Your nameplate will be hidden from most angles and it's almost impossible to be punted off. You don't have direct LoS to inside the bunker, but you can still hit everyone inside with a Plasma Probe. Most people are not very good at jumping, either, so their Blackout will probably run out while they are trying to get up to you and you'll spot them easily (Engineering is the best Sniper spec for solo guarding. But you should still be wondering why the tank Assassin is not doing this job instead since even with your arsenal of ridiculous gimmicks they'll still be able to delay for a longer time than you)
  19. Due to the absurd proportions on male bodies I find it very difficult to wear anything but heavy plated armor. Thank god for adaptive armor. The big butt and breasts coupled with having no options other than either skintight pants or a massive skirt was why I could not stand my original Jedi Consular.
  20. I find it the exact opposite, actually. Everyone is just so damn friendly and inclusive that I can't find time to play with them all...
  21. The OP is mainly asking where to find "History of Tatooine". As far as anyone knows, this lore object does not exist. No one has ever documented finding it. All other lore objects are well documented on various fan sites like swtor-spy.
  22. I approve of this message. Direct link here for those who are lazy: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=665185
  23. As you get lots of experience actually playing as a stealther class, you will soon learn to guess their tactics and the locations they hide in or the directions they approach in. At the very least, you can just settle for revealing them instantly each time they vanish.
  24. I will order 4. EDIT: I could probably order around 10 if they are 400k or less.
  25. There has been no proof that this schematic still drops from those boxes. As far as I know, the schematic no longer drops and some people are paying huge amounts of credits to get crystals transferred from other servers where someone did have the schematic from the olden days. I made a thread on this issue, I doubt it will get dev attention, though: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=659523 If you are on The Ebon Hawk, someone will be transferring a shipment of them over from Prophecy of the Five: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=664197 Until something changes, Blue War Hero crystals will remain the rarest in the game, at least depending on what server you're on.
